Kindle article from NYT

The NYT ran an interesting article on the Kindle today, suggesting that some companies will give books away to get people interested in their back catalog or new releases.

The free books have gotten me hooked on one series. I have seen early books by some authors I already read being listed as free. I think it is a good tactic. I don't know that I would have read the books by Keri Arthur, if I hadn't started on the first book in the Riley Jensen series for free. I have bought 4 further books and intend to buy the rest of the books in the series over the next few months.
