I loaded it on my Nexus One today, and it crashed every time I tried opening my book for bookclub tomorrow (I'm a little behind in the reading). Another book worked great though, I need to poke around to see what's up.

I just downloaded it Monday...awesome!!!! I've been trying to decide if I want a Kindle (have the Kindle app on my computer and do use that), this makes it unnecessary! I was really happy to see the print size was good, you just have to turn the pages a lot.

Where did you get the Kindle app for your computer? I have been trying to decide if I want one (or a Nook) too. Someone told me that the Nook comes preloaded with 90,000 books, is that true? I would love some "free" books that don't require a bookshelf .

I got the computer app off of Amazon.com. In the Kindle store there is a section called Kindle Reading Apps and you can pick the one you want.

I already have an Incredible but ordered another for my son back in early June. Verizon at that time said it would ship by yesterday (6/29).

I received an email this morning from Verizon saying demand for these is so high that our "ship by" date is now being pushed back a week. And at the Verizon website, anyone who is ordering an Incredible just now is being told it won't ship until late July at the earliest.

Bottom line - demand for this Droid is now more frantic than that for the Iphone 4.

Which is a loud message to all the the Apple cultists.

And he couldn't tell me if it had shipped yet. I ordered over the phone and not online so it got a little confusing. Ugh, I can't wait.

Interesting - I also ordered the one for my son over the phone (it was an upgrade) because you get a better price that way. His upgrade discount plus the rebate that you only get when you purchase in a store or over the phone means his Incredible will end up only costing us about $50.

As for what you were told about "adding 5 days" to the ship date, it sounds like the timetable one is being given varies based on what particular Verizon rep you speak with. Here is what we heard.

• I ordered my son's Incredible over the phone on June 8 and was told then that the "ship by" date was 6/29.
• After I got the somewhat confusing email from Verizon this morning about a "delay," I called them. They said the shipping date "is now 6/29 plus up to seven additional days."
• They added that is counting only business weekdays, which means our 6/8 order now is supposed to arrive sometime between tomorrow and July 9.
• The rep I spoke with was nice and actually said she will call me at my office # when the phone ships, which gave me the sense they are getting a lot of flack about these delays.

Ooooh. I have the 8330 Curve and DH the Droid. I can not seem to find any app downloads on amazon. Where should I look?

I went to the Kindle page and scrolled down to the bottom and there were icons for "Kindle for Droid", "Kindle for Blackberry", etc.
