I have the Kindle 3. The biggest advantage I can see is Amazon.com's superior customer service, as compared to B&N. It also uses electronic ink, as does the Nook - but not the Nook Color. Electronic ink is far superior for serious book reading... much easier on the eyes.
), but the "borrowing" capability really appeals to me with the Nook, yet the Kindle gets better reviews for most everything else?Yes. There were news articles posted a month or so ago about the Kindle eventually supporting library rentals.Do you know if there are rumblings that Kindle will ever have library lending capability like the Nook?
I want the color because it is backlit. I am tired of messing with night lights, etc. to read in bed. I have been using my phone to read with no issues at all.
So the regular 3G Wifi Nook you can't read in bed, without a light? Is that what you are saying? I really don't have a need for the color Nook, but am leaning toward the Nook (vs. the Kindle) because of the library access?

Off topic but how long did it take you to get your card?I have the Nook, and I absolutely love it. I love the book selection as well as library access. I joined the Free Library of Philadelphia and that is working fantastic. I am currently reading one that I checked out from there.
The Nook color looks nice but I am not interested in the color screen and backlight for reading. I wanted the eink technology so it is easier on my eyes.
My sister loves her Nook as well. DS (13) has even asked for and will be getting a Nook for Christmas too.
