Help! Anyone have any ideas for me? I some how seem to be planning it all. Any easy, clean games or crafts that you can think of? There are about 23 kids to my sons class.

Hi - we're keeping it simple and doing four stations: Halloween Bingo, Ghost Toss (white tube socks filled w/rice, the kids decorate the face, there are several cauldrons placed around to toss the "ghosts" into for points), foam pumpkin decorate, and cupcake decorate. Disney's Family Fun magazine had some great ideas in the October issue and probably have more online. Have a spooktacular party!!:scared1:

My son's preschool did a fall festival and some of the things they had there were:

Halloween themed bookmarks (black and white) that the kids could color.
Trick or Treat bags (b&W) that the kids could color and use for HW night.
Lollipop ghosts (Tootsie roll pops covered with a tissue and tied onto the pop w/ a face drawn on). They had these stuck into a bale of hay and each kid pull one out.
Bracelet/necklace making station (strings and beads)
Pumpkin patch - small pumpkins for each kid to choose from and then decorate with those pumpkin face stickers (instead of carving the pumpkin). This was really cute! I imagine you could do it with paper pumpkins instead of the real ones.

One thing my mom did when I was a kid and had a halloween themed bday party was to make different food items in bowls and cover them up with towels. She then labeled each one as a halloween themed thing. For example, cold spaghetti noodles = brains. Each kid could then come up and feel the "brains" under the towel.

Our public school does "harvest" not Halloween parties, so there can be no Halloween themed things. We do "pin the tail on the pumpkin", fall bingo and this year I'm having the kids decorate foam doorhangers with foam stick-on leaves and fabric markers. Last year I gave each child a paper plate and they made mosaic pumpkins using small, orange square scraps of paper and glue sticks. (Green paper stem too.) Not too messy and very little clean up.

This year my son's class is going to work in two's and make each other into mummies with toilet paper. I feel like I'm at a bridal shower!

thanks for the ideas

any one know where I can get just orange and black construction paper

We are doing 4 stations too:
1. ghost bowling (use empty h2O bottles and swirl white paint in the inside and then have your child make faces on the bottles.

2. ghost lollipops

3. creepy touch and feel (peeled grapes= eyeballs, spaghetti= brains)

4. bingo

Then as a group we are going to decorate cupcakes and tell spooky stories.

Here is an easy craft idea - Balloon Maracas

Find fun balloons - I like the orange ones with a pre-printed pumpkin face on them, Have kids put dry rice, beans, or smooth pasta in the balloon. Blow it up and then decorate with stickers if you want!

Have kids make their own "dirt for dessert" take baby food jars or small re-usable containers and fill with instant pudding mix. Let child hold the container as you fill with milk. Secure top and let them shake to combine. Let them add a scoop of crumbled oreos and a gummy worm and they have made their own snack.

Let them eat their snack while you read a fun halloween themed book and you are done!

I actually got my orange paper from Office Max's copying center in the store! It's bright orange xerox paper and I asked if I could just purchase it by the sheet, without making any copies. They said no problem! MUCH cheaper than buying a ton of packs of multi-colored paper just for a couple orange sheets.

I made spiders with my daughter's class last week. We used marshmallows for the body and stick pretzels for the legs (they had to make sure they had the correct number of legs-must be educational you know;)). Then with the spider on a small paper plate, I poured a small amount of chocolate syrup over each one. The kids then used mini M&Ms to make eyes for the spiders. Of course they got to eat them next!
