Kind of "star" sighting I forgot from BWV updated 6-6 ramblings

Today was a sleep in then hit the pool day, kids did some crafts at the community center. Even got to sit on the patio with a beer and a sandwich for lunch and relax, our window is directly above the kids playground area and kiddie pool. Turned out great it was beautiful out until we decided to walk to MGM then the rain started (about 430ish) on and off for the rest of the night. We walked by Toy story all the fast passes were gone and wait said 70mins. Funny to watch all the people actually go over or under the chained off fast pass machines that plainly state NO MORE FASTPASSES stick their tickets and stand there stunned that nothing happens. I know not everyone speaks/reads english but when you have to climb over chains.................................. Just an FYI I think they are having issues with Toy Story as people in line were complaining about the ride being down seem liked every time we walked by. Another advantage of DVC, I would like to see it but I'm not waiting or going out of my way - I will get to it eventually one of these days:cool2: We hit the Muppet show and got to get pictures with Mickey in his :wizard: outfit, only waited about 20 mins if that. Then just walked around and headed back so we could hit EPCOT'S fireworks.

Just a hint for people who don't like to spend $6 or more a beer or whatever they cost (even in the convenience store). I ordered a 12 pack of Leines from Garden grocer for about $8. Anyway I always bring one of my large camel paks with me whenever I travel (without the bladder) and thought of an idea that worked at the parks. Froze a few bottles of water stuck them in the section that would hold the bladder (it is decently insulated) and took some empty water bottles filled them with beer and screwed the top on nice and tight. Walked around MGM with nice cold beer at my price instead of Disney's:rolleyes1

Around 8:40pm we headed to EPCOT to catch the fireworks and it was pouring out. Another hint I read here (I think so if it was any of you thank you:worship: ) buy those plastic stroller covers, I think we got ours for about $10-15 at Babies r us. They were worth at least twice that today, they work really nice and kids and strollers stayed very dry in the small monsoon we walked in. I love the rain and we had the rain jackets so no biggie. But it was a blessing in disguise we waited under cover at the EPCOT entrance for it to slow down some. When it did we got in and got some nice spots on the bridge as you veer to the left, directly above where the boats park to watch. I never saw EPCOT'S fireworks but we were able to get a front row spot and the fireworks literally started right when we got on the bridge. The fireworks were amazing, I heard a great deal about them but thought I have seen many fireworks shows and I tell you what I think this was probably the best I can remember (only one better but that isn't fair to include that one). I have to assume the only reason we got a great spot, and I can't see that there could of been many better spots, was the rain - so the rain worked to advantage big time today.

Walked around EPCOT some found out it was closed, we didn't check the time and don't have them memorized like some people, but we like to just stroll so no big deal. Headed back to the boardwalk got some ice cream with the kids, watched the juggler and saw some more fireworks, I think it must have been MK? Sorry I'm not really orientated to where things are at in Disney yet in relation to each other. So yet another great day as this was the perfect down day. Did I mention I love the BWV:confused3

Off to Chef Mickey tomorrow.......thanks for letting me blab. For all of you that stated you have your first BWV coming up you are in for a TREAT. I had high expectations of the location and it meets and beats the expectations I had:dance3:

Update for June 3rd
CandleontheWater - I did have a mickey bar for you, mater of fact I had to turn around and buy one for my son as soon as he saw mine. Oh yeah you enjoyed it very much you thought it was Delicious :cool1:

My daughter and wife got up early and went to Chef Mickey then MK in the morning. I slept in with my son, he is a little pain in the (|) when he doesn't get enough rest.......how much rest is that? Well he didn't wake up until 11am  Beautiful day out (hot but not bad) we hit the pool for awhile and went to EPCOT. My daughter's amazing right time right place continues.....we walk to EPCOT we are about 30ft in the gate and Cinderella is standing there with nobody around her, WOW Cinderella and we don't have to wait  I hate standing around for 30mins to an hour to get a picture. Don't get me wrong I know what it means to the kids but.........well to tell the truth I hate waiting in lines for anything, I love going to WDW during the slow times.

Bummed around EPCOT, it didn't seem to busy and we hit the land, innovations, the seas (Nemo ride of course) and headed "home". I love that Disney Visa...wait like 10-20 mins (see I hate waiting in lines comment) and kids get to see Mickey and get great pictures and private interactions with the characters. Today it was Mickey and Pluto, my son ran up to Mickey for the 1st time without me having to carry him (he can get shy). But, some of you with kids will appreciate this one, he is still a little scared and grabs me during our "family" shots with Mickey and Pluto. We go to the Kodak center and it looks like he is grabbing my...........ahhhhhhhhh......yeah that area. The lady was so nice she said ummm I don't think you want the picture developed. I asked if she would develop something else from the photopass and she said we are not supposed to but that is pretty bad go ahead a pick a different picture. Well we great pictures with Mickey in his :smickey: outfit so we got a free 5x7 of that picture, oh happy days:banana:

When we got back the kids went swimming, then we ate and just strolled around the boardwalk. Got to sit on the balcony and have a beer during one of the famous down pours - I like the rain (with in reason) so it was nice and relaxing. We are kicking back tonight, again the beauty of DVC  - just get to hang out and enjoy WDW no mad commando scrambling around all over the place.

Kids are sleeping now as we hope to hit "Mickey's Zoo" tomorrow morning on extra hours get the gets a long nap before the pirate: princess: party:

:thanks: for reading my rambling and of course :disrocks: it really has made our trip more enjoyable - just picking up on everyones' hints.

For all of you that stated you have your first BWV coming up you are in for a TREAT. I had high expectations of the location and it meets and beats the expectations I had:dance3:

Yay I can't wait!!!!

Thanks for the update.

I totally agree with you about the no rushing around to do things because we're members. My sister in law always says that she doesn't know how we can go to Disney so much because it is hectic. She just doesn't understand.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.:goodvibes

Got up for early morning animal kingdom did the safari twice and the train. Kids wanted to back to room which worked out well because we them to nap before the party tonight. Matter of fact the wife, son and daughter are sleeping now as I sit surfing the Internet, drinking a beer and have best of Mike and Mike from ESPN on in the background while siting on the balcony......now this is VACATION:goofy:

I really don't care for animal kingdom park much, we went there twice and they have some cool things but most of it I can see at home in the zoo. Don't get me wrong it is nice but just doesn't trip my trigger. I think it might be because of the "closed" in feel?

Anyone want to trade some OKW and SSR points for their BWV:teacher: Yeah I didn't think so.....time to hit the resale board, I need some more points anyway but don't we all:confused3

I hope to get some reservations here for just the wife and I in Jan/Feb/Mar timeframe. We like to get away just the two of us once a year, I hope airfare doesn't go crazy:(

So mad I forgot my USB cable to load pics.......will update again and blab about the party.

Enjoying your TR! I stayed at the BWV last Sept & purchased BWV resale this spring! I love it there! I love your "beer packing" idea for the park! :drinking1 Please add some pictures when you are home, especially of the party. I can't wait to hear about that! Have fun!

PPP was a good time, my wife and daughter went to the mickey's Christmas last year but I didn't know what to expect. They do a nice job, my daughter loves the dance parties and we got some good pics. I do have to say some of the adults and "young" adults had some elaborate costumes and at first glance looked like a "Disney CM". My son only wanted to do rides and it was nice because I don't think I wanted more than 10 mins. This was a surprise with all the little kids I thought the lines for rides he likes - Buzz, Pooh, Peter Pan, Indy race car, etc would be packed. He passed out around 11pm and I actually think at one point he fell asleep on the Buzz ride. This was a shock since he lasted until 2am earlier for EMH. Ironically he is literally bouncing off the walls as a type this now.

I suggest the PPP because of the low crowds and the spread they put on for the kids. The parade was done well along with the fireworks for the event. I think we will do the Christmas party again this year. The nice thing is it includes your park admission that night too. We didn't go until 6pm anyway so it could save you a MYW pass for the day - we have AP so it was just an extra expense for our family but still worth the cash.

It is another hot one so it looks like a pool day and hit EPCOT later and I think it is the EMH tonight. Vacation is winding down and that is a bummer but we had a blast......this might cost me more money as now I might have to add on at BWV:rolleyes1

I wish PPP was on when we go down at the end of June. I would like to go and the kids would have a great time.

Glad you all enjoyed it.

:offtopic: But just wanted to say I agree with your tag line....very nice and Semper FI

Thank you!:thumbsup2

Hope your enjoying the day. Are you still in Disney?

Last full day here, our flight leaves Sat night. EMH evening is awesome especially when it is so hot. We hit the pool during the day, kids took a nap and walked (oh is that nice) to EPCOT for EMH. If you have young kids you have to hit turtle talk with crush it was really funny and kids love it. We went twice last night with no wait, both kids got to talk to Crush. If you have not been there I highly recommend it. No wait for Nemo ride, honey I shrunk the audience, Figment, and a few others. Sorain had a short wait, my kids not too interested in the bigger rides so I'm not sure what the wait was for those rides.

I really think during the hot days the formula for success is pool by day EMH parks by night. It was cool and no lines. MK is open until 2am again tonight so we are going to take advantage of that again. This has been an awesome vacation and thank you for sharing in my ramblings :cool1:

I couldn't agree with you more about this statement. Before we were DVC members we went for the first time in the summer and we were not happy campers. We thought we had to do it all, even in the heat of the day, because we didn't know when we'd be back.

Enjoy your last night at Disney. Have a safe trip home.

Oh, and Happy 10th Anniversary! We celebrated our 10th in Disney too.

We have a LOT in common! We have a 'play it by ear' attitude when it comes to WDW!! We usually never make ADR's, and just eat in the room, or stop somewhere and get something to eat at the counter rest.

Now, we DO have ressies at Calif Grill, and Yachtmsan Steakhouse.. But that is it.. The rest of it is Pizza in room, groc from Publix,etc.....

I WISH MORE PEOPLE would have this attitude at WDW, it would be a better place than it already is!!!

Enjoy your last nite and have a safe trip and HAPPY Anniversary!!

Just got back from EMH at MK and having a beer to top the night off :dance3:

I think we got lucky with the week we went because we left at 12:30ish and it was the busiest I have ever seen it. For those of you coming in the next few days or weeks, for your sake I hope this is just because it is a Friday night. At 11:40pm I waited 30mins to get on Winnie the Pooh, maybe that is not so bad but when we went earlier in the week I didn't have to wait over 15mins and we usually walked right up to it and got right on, a few times we didn't have to get off if we wanted to ride again. It was still a blast, we ended up taking the BCV bus back as it happened to be there and the BWV bus line was pretty long with no bus in sight. We walked through the BCV and they do look nice.

Well thank you everyone for listening to my ramblings, I wish everyone has a magical visit to WDW:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I like your idea of doing the EMH. We are going in August & that sounds like a good plan. Happy Anniversary!

Enjoyed your ramblings! Thanks for bringing us along! :)

We just got back a week ago from a BWV 2 Br. Great view from the 4th floor.
I loved drinking coffee in the am and a glass of good wine in the pm up there.
Gotta love that walk to and from Epcot and pushing the easy button to get into Epcot by going in through the International gateway. What I did not expect to see were the fireworks from Epcot AND, further in the distance to the left, Wishes fireworks at MK. Hope your trip is just as magical.

Hope the freezer in the resort store down at the boardwalk is working now!!

BTW, the two sleeping on the new sofabeds said they were comfortable and they were very easy to set up and put away.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us. I enjoyed reading about it. Be safe.:goodvibes
