In May, we used one to pay part of our bill and the CM said that it was considered cash. I'm not sure if it's the same for tickets; maybe a call to one of the front desks could tell you.

I have several I will be using for discounted passes for a trip coming up in November. I called MS and was informed that I would have to purchase the passes with the gift cards once we arrive at WDW. THey can not take the cards online for the passes or on the phone.

Yes to both. We paid for our DVC APs last Dec and our DDP in April with Disney gift cards.

Mine were a gift to me, purchaser purchased them from an online gift card provider. http://www.800giftcertificate.com/ They are issued by disney and have mickey on the front of the card.
