Kim's new and improved life journal!

Hi Kim
Sounds like you had a lovely day with your mum & DS teachers.
Crossing everything for the ultra sound to be ok!
Yes its me in the avatar, after a wild 70's night out!!! you can check out more pics on my journal ;)
My calves & left knee are hurting bad too!
Lets hope we both heal quickly!!
Nothing like a new 'do' to pick yourself up :)

Hi KIM :)

Wow...you had a great run this week!!! I'm so impressed that you get out there so early to get those runs in! WAY TO GO!!!!! :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a great day off yesterday :). Nice to spend some quality time with your Mom too  .

Keep us posted on your workouts. Hope you felt good enough to run today. And on thought...make sure you are taking time to stretch properly. That will help with the leg soreness. I know that is one of my challenges and I'm trying so hard to do better myself!

Have a great weekend!

Hey everyone! No, I didn't run this morning, so I ended May with 39 miles under my belt. Not bad at all, considering my last mileage challenge I tried I barely hit 20. I'm going to continue to track my mileage every month. Unfortunately, the walks at lunch have stopped since it got so hot (90's every day) and I really don't wanna be stinky girl in the afternoons. :rolleyes1

I will be running tomorrow morning to start June out with some numbers. Shooting for 30-35 minutes, so we'll see how close to 3 miles I can get without killing myself. :rotfl:

Em had her last soccer game of the season tonight. They ended the season undefeated, but not with the best record (someone tied less), so I guess we're second place. :thumbsup2 Not bad at all since this is the first season she's played in 3 years. She's so excited. :cutie:

Oh, and Scott, yes - planting flowers takes preference silly man. That is a chore that I wanted to get done & overwith so as not to drag it on for weeks (or weekends I guess). :sad2: Priorities, you see. :upsidedow

Way to go for DD & her soccer team :cheer2:
Keep your fingers crossed for England we're playing Brazil tonight :thumbsup2

Wish we had some of your weather done nothing but rain for the last 2 weeks :(
Hope you make 3 miles tomorrow :goodvibes

Wow Kim....GREAT job on getting all those miles logged in May :thumbsup2 . That's a great accomplishment.

Have a great weekend and good luck on your long run this weekend!!!! :goodvibes

Tracey - we should be getting the rain this weekend through the beginning of next week. :guilty: So maybe you'll get the sunshine!!

Amy - thanks, girl. It's a big accomplishment for me, that's for sure! :thumbsup2

I got up and ran for 30.07 minutes this morning and made it 2.67 miles. That's a little over 11 minute mpm's which is GREAT!! The last 1/2 mile was a killer, but I went in a direction that isn't exactly the "safe" area of my neighborhood to make myself keep running, and not stop & walk. Anyway, I was thrilled with that run, and felt great....up until when I fell down the steps heading to work. Guess my legs were still a little jello-ish. I was fine, nothing broken. And DH was a dear and held in his laughter.

Not much going on this weekend. DS has a teeball game tomorrow morning and DD has a cheerleading clinic on Sunday. Besides that, it'll be housework and a longer run on Sunday. :goodvibes

:cheer2: Awesome run today Kim. You should be so proud!!! WAY TO GO!!!

About the bike stuff.....I think ANY riding you do would be good XT. Go for 30 minutes...just try to get your HR up a bit. Mine was up to 157 avg today  . Can ya tell it was difficult for me LOL! Anyway, the bike that I have is a 12 speed. It's kind of old but I didn't want to buy a new one in case I hated bike riding LOL! :rolleyes1

Have a great weekend! We definitely have to talk. Do you have any 5Ks or 10Ks on your calendar???

Awesome run, Kim!

Too bad about the fall later - I'm glad you're ok! Have a great run this Sunday. Good luck with the weekend activities!

At least you had a reason to fall....jello-legs.
I woke up the other morning, stood up and promptly fell down!!! Neither of my legs were awake yet??!!! Good thing the only one that saw me was Gunner...he snickered...stupid dog!!

Note to self....don't get any pets. Just another "person" to laugh when I am clutzy.

Thanks so much for the encouragement, girls. Unfortunately no running happened this weekend. (and no I wasn't planting more flowers, Scott :rotfl: ). I was laid up with a nasty stomach virus all day yesterday and then most of today. I am just now starting to feel better, but haven't eaten much of anything b/c that's when it acts up again. :sad2:

At this point, I'm shooting for a Tuesday or Wednesday run. I'm not in a rush to bounce around out there with the way my stomach is feeling.

Hope you're feeling better sweetie!!
Thanks for the fashion advice yesterday...it looked good!!! :thumbsup2
Take your time getting back out there to run....don't want you getting sicker!!

Talk to you soon!!!
marie

Hi Kim!

Sorry to hear that you were sick...get well soon!! I think you are smart for thinking about waiting a day or two before running again. Make sure you are replenished and hydrated!

...glad to see the reasoning was legit this time ;) :rotfl:

 Feel better Kim! Definitely rest up and try to stay hydrated. Hopefully you'll feel 100% again soon :).

Hey all! Feeling better today. Still not able to eat too much without my stomach going nuts, but I'm definitely on the mend. :thumbsup2

I got the call I've been waiting for today......

 I GOT MY JOB!!!

That sounds so weird, doesn't it? I guess I should clarify. I currently work as a contractor to the FAA. My job was being converted into a Federal position, but I had to bid on it and compete in order to "get it". It was a risky process, because even though I've been doing the job (and well, I might add ;) ) for over 5 years, if a veteran applied and had some of the qualifications, they could be awarded my job. :headache: Anyway, it worked out and I received the call today offering me the position!!! Still lots of paperwork and red-tape to work out, but I am SOOOOOO excited!! :woohoo: It's a big weight lifted off my back. (contractors are basically slaves to the contract period, and can be "let go" at any time).

I also want to add that my friend Janine had to bid on hers, and got her offer call today too! WOO HOO! (and we beat out 148 applicants that bid on the two jobs - little pat on the back ;) )

So it was a good day for me! :yay: I'm thinking about running tomorrow, but I'm gonna wait & see how I feel when I wake up.

GO KIM GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew you would get it but im SO excited for you:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

CONGRATULATIONS GIRL!!!

I knew you'd get it!!! You're the BOMB!!!! (ssshhh.....don't want to say that too loud....you work for the FAA!!!

Glad the stomach is feeling better.....try to take it easy until its 100%.

Congrats to janine too!!!

marie
