OK Off to Post Day One!

We arrived at JFK at around 5:00 for our 6:30 flight on September 11th. We weren’t that hungry but decided to get a snack. We saw Baked by Melissa and were intrigued. We bought these:

Here is the top of the box:

These were very tiny cupcakes but were so good! They came in so many different flavors. I forgot which ones we ordered. We decided to wait until we were at the Boardwalk to get something more to eat.

We arrived later that evening and checked into the Boardwalk.

After we dropped off the luggage in our room, we were hungry and headed down to see what was open. The CM who checked us in said our best bet that late at night was ESPN.

On the way I took a few photos of the Boardwalk area all lit up at night.

It is so pretty there at night.
We arrived at ESPN and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We did not have an ADR, but it wasn’t crowded.

First we ordered drinks. I ordered Sangria and DD ordered a beer.

We shared ESPN Wings with Southern BBQ sauce.

DD said these were ok. She is a connoisseur of wings. She has them all the time. I thought they were delicious. We then shared the Angus chuck burger.

This was done very well. We both enjoyed this burger.
We then paid for this with one of our gift cards. We saved up our Christmas and birthday gift cards. When anyone asked us what we wanted for Christmas or birthday we said “A Disney Gift Card!” We then went back to our room at the Boardwalk Inn.
NEXT REVIEW: KOUZZINA!

We had been to Kouzzina last year for breakfast and enjoyed it. When we found out it was closing for good, we made the ADR! I got up early and looked out on the balcony to see the sunrise. Here is a view of Epcot from our balcony.

We got ready to go and headed down to the boardwalk. It looked so foggy out and everything was very wet. Here is a view of the Yacht Club.

We arrived at Kouzzina.

We had a 7:30 am ADR. We got there a little early. There weren’t many people there. Views of the entry to Kouzzina.

We were seated quickly. We ordered coffee. Then we shared a warm honey pecan cinnamon roll.

This was very sweet with lots of cream on it.
I ordered:

Classic Golden Waffle with Whipped Mascarpone Cheese, Honey, and Chopped Pecans and Bacon. Last time I got the stacked Kouzzina breakfast and enjoyed it. I decided to try something different. This was delicious, but I liked the stacked breakfast better. DD ordered:

American - Two Eggs with Breakfast Potatoes and Chicken Sausage. That croissant it came with was whole grain and very good. We shared this and also the waffles. I’m going to miss Kouzzina. We paid with one of our gift cards and headed to Epcot.

NEXT: Snack - MARGARITA

After our last breakfast at Kouzzina :( we walked over to Epcot. Here is what we saw on the way over.

We arrived at the International Gateway to Epcot at around 8:30 and it was empty.

We were the first to arrive in an empty Epcot

We went on Soarin, Sum of All Thrills, Space Ship Earth and Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Spaceship Earth took our photo but it didn’t come on at the end. We looked at the other cars and the same thing was happening to them. At the end of Ellen’s Energy Adventure, the movie went off and we were evacuated. It was closed the rest of the day. A few glitches at Epcot that morning. We headed to the World Showcase to go on Maelstrom for the last time. Quite a few last times on this trip.
DD decided to get a Margarita.

This was a frozen Margarita. She said it was good but a weak drink. I was going to get one but wasn’t in the mood by the time we got there. We went on Maelstom instead. The margarita was paid for with a gift card.

After Maelstrom and looking at the Norway shops, we realized we skipped club cool, so we took a walk there.

I liked that bubblegum from Peru and Bibo from South Africa. We did not try Beverly this time!! ;) After some shopping, we headed to our favorite Italian restaurant!!

NEXT REVIEW: LUNCH – VIA NAPOLI

Excellent review so far! I'm so sad about Kouzzina's closing. This is one of the places we always wanted to try but never fit in to our schedule. Now it's to late. Breakfast looks fantastic though.

Lunchtime at Epcot and we headed to Via Napoli!! Love their pizza! We had a short wait and were seated in the large room with the three pizza ovens. We never sat in this room on any of our other visits. Our waiter took our drink orders.

DD ordered beer and I stuck with water. Four people came up to us on this visit to ask if we had any allergies. I was wondering if they had some problems with people who were dining and had allergic reactions. While waiting for our meal I took a photo of the pizza ovens.

I ordered a pizza.

Carciofi Pizza – Individual size, white pizza, artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, truffle oil This was delicious! I saw this on Disboards and decided to order it because of the great reviews.

DD’s pizza:

Quattro Formaggi Pizza – Individual size, white pizza, mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone

She had this before and loved it. Even though I enjoyed the carciofi pizza, I think the Quattro formaggi is still my favorite. We paid for this with one of our gift cards and headed over to L’Artisan Des Glaces for dessert.

I ordered

A scoop of caramel fleur de sel, salted caramel ice cream. This is my favorite ice cream here. I had it a few times and once in a martini!

DD ordered.

A vanilla macaron ice cream sandwich. She didn’t like the macaron and said it was very sweet. I tasted it and it was sweet. I am definitely going to try the ones they sell in the Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie to see if they are the same.
We paid for this with our gift card and left to head back to the Boardwalk to dress for MNSSHP!

NEXT REVIEW: Dinner – FRIAR TUCK’S NOOK

Excellent review so far! I'm so sad about Kouzzina's closing. This is one of the places we always wanted to try but never fit in to our schedule. Now it's to late. Breakfast looks fantastic though.

Thank you!!:goodvibes It is sad! I never had dinner there just breakfast and wish I could have tried that too. Breakfast was great - both times! I'm also upset that yet another Italian Restaurant is going there!

Nice dining report! That burger from ESPN looks good! Can't wait to read more!

After Resting up at the Boardwalk and getting ready for MNSSHP, we headed over to the MK
.

Those shirts have glow in the dark writing, Mickey head and hitchhiking ghosts! We got our wristbands and headed over to our FP at 7DMT. We missed our first FP at Space Mountain. After the ride, we went to Friar Tuck’s Nook for dinner. We shared:

Pot Roast Macaroni and Cheese. We both loved the pot roast. I thought the Macaroni and cheese was good too, but DD didn’t like it. We each had a lemonade light. There were no seats left so we sat on a wall across from Friar Tuck’s.
We had such a great time at the party. We went to both dance parties with the characters, waited on line for Jack and Sally.

We also, went to Haunted Mansion in the dark, shopped and bought MNSSHP merchandise, Went to the villains show at the castle, went trick or treating, saw Hallowishes and the Boo to You Parade. The headless horseman was awesome. We also enjoyed ice cream from the Plaza Ice cream Parlor while watching the Boo to You Parade. I had a great Root Beer Float and DD had a sundae! I don’t have photos of these two treats. But I have a photo of the villains show.

It was so late when we left the party and we had to get up early the next day for our Four Parks One Day Experience!

NEXT REVIEW: Breakfast – BOARDWALK BAKERY

We got up very early the morning of our Four Parks One Day adventure. We put on these shirts and headed downstairs to Boardwalk Bakery.

We ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon, a chocolate croissant and two cups of coffee. We sat outside and shared this. I can’t find photos of these, but they were very good. I had the bread bowl on our last trip and it was just ok. (see my last DR in my signature)
After breakfast we walked to Hollywood studios for the 8am EMH. They led us to the hat where we had to watch the Frozen show before we could get to TSM. That held us back a little. I did like the snow at the end. There was a mad crush to TSM. I’m glad this has been discontinued. We rode TSM, RnRC and ToT and took the bus to MK.

We got to MK about 9:30. We had three FP+ We rode 7DMT and Space mountain with FP+ When we got to Splash we were at the head of the line and they closed the ride!! They gave us a paper FP that we could have used for a few days. Besides those two rides we were able to ride BTMRR, Barnstormer and PoTC. While we were in Adventureland we stopped at Sunshine Tree Terrace and the corndog wagon for snacks.

I ordered this citrus swirl. It was refreshing and delish. I liked this more than the Dole Whip. DD ordered from the Corn Dog wagon.

A corndog! I didn’t taste this but DD enjoyed it.
After this snack and PoTC, we headed out of the park and took two monorails to Epcot for our next half of Four Parks One Day!

NEXT REVIEW: Lunch - KRINGLA

We arrived at Epcot around 12:40 and we still had two parks to go. I looked at the lines app on my phone and there were only two rides that were low wait times; Seas with Nemo and Journey Into the Imagination :) So we rode both of those and then stopped for lunch. Before we went into Kringla, we checked the wait time for Maelstrom, hoping to do it one last time. It was a 40 minute wait. So we passed.
In Kringla we ordered;

Brown Goat Cheese Waffle that we shared and two light lemonades. Even though this is an authentic dish, I didn’t like the flavor. Next visit, I think I’ll stick to the delicious sandwiches.
By this time it was after 2:00 and we still had one more park. We went out the International Gateway and took a bus at the Beach Club bus stop to AK.

NEXT REVIEW: Snack - AK and Dinner – Il Mulino.

Great report so far! That Mac and Cheese with Pot Roast looks interesting! Love the MNSSHP and 4 Parks shirts!! You were really making good time on your 4 parks day! Kringla is one of my favorites, but I don't know about those waffles - too bad you didn't like them.

Love the reviews! Definitely stop at Les Halles for a box of their macarons. I got a box with the intention of taking them back to the hotel. Never happened! I think there were maybe 6 in the box and they were quickly gone once my family saw them. They were very good.

Loving your report! I really enjoyed your night and morning pics of the Boardwalk! I also love the mother-daughter trip! My DD is 13 now and has always been my favorite WDW touring partner - I just know when she's a grown up we will take trips like yours. Can't wait to read more!

Thank you! I was surprised we made such good time. We were disappointed at only 2 rides at Epcot. Definitely having a sandwich next time at Kringla!

Thank you! LOL on the macarons!! That will happen to us too. - Next trip!!

Thank you! My DD is a great touring partner. We're doing a December trip too! Next update coming right up!

We arrived at AK and headed right to the safari. It was so hot I didn’t think we would see anything. We did see quite a bit. No sign of the lions though. We stopped for a snack at The Harambe Market.

Cinnamon Glazed Almonds! These are delicious. We shared a few then saved some to bring back to the room.
We headed to Dinoland and went on Dinosaur and Primeval whirl. Our four parks one day was complete! We left the park and took a bus to the Boardwalk to rest up for our ADR at Il Mulino.
After resting up and showering from our long day, we dressed and walked the Boardwalk until we got to the Swan.

There is DD crossing the bridge from the Boardwalk to the Swan. We walked in the door and saw this

We walked through the bar and they showed us to our seat. While looking at the menus, we were given this amuse bouche

Eggplant with some either salami or sopressatta. I enjoyed that with our wine and bread. For our appetizer we shared-

Calamari Fritti - Lightly Fried Calamari with a Spicy Marinara Sauce. We both enjoyed this.
I ordered

Tortellini Alla Panna - Meat Tortellini and Peas in a Cream Sauce. This was absolutely delicious. I cleaned the plate. DD ordered

Gnocchi Bolognese -Potato Dumplings with Meat Sauce. The Bolognese had pork in it so she ordered it with marinara sauce. As she was eating she saw chunks of pork. She told the waitress and the manager came over. He was so great. He wanted to bring her a new dish. She said no she picked on mine a little and after the appetizer she wasn’t hungry. To make it up to us they took our appetizer and her meal off the bill. They also treated us to lemoncella

I enjoyed mine, but DD didn’t like it. This was a great meal. I would definitely go back here again!
After we left, we walked over to Beaches and Cream for dessert. Actually, I staggered over to Beaches and Cream after that Lemoncella! We went to the window at Beaches and cream. I ordered

A root beer float. This was was great – slightly better than the one I had at the MK the night before. DD ordered

No Way Jose!!!! She’s had this before and this one was just as good! We sat right outside Beaches and Cream to enjoy this! We will definitely go back to Beaches and Cream.

At this point, we were going to walk down towards Hollywood Studios to see the Frozen Fireworks. But we were both beat from the Four Parks One Day! We walked back to the Boardwalk and did a little shopping and went to bed.

NEXT REVIEW: Breakfast - OLIVIAS

What great pictures! Love your party attire!
This could be my report, you're staying at my favorite place and doing just about everything I'd do!!!:goodvibes

The morning and night in boardwalk are one of my favorite places!

Except the margaritas are better from La Cava. :rotfl:

Wow, Il Mulino looked amazing!!! Sorry kimpup didn't like her entree, but very nice they removed it from the bill and then she had room for the No Way Jose. :rotfl2: Your entree looked to die for. I've got to stay over in that area sometime because we never get over there and there's so much good stuff, looks like!

Great review. Glad to see I am not the only person who goes to Il Mulino. Just doesn't seem to get much love on these boards.

I have two non food questions. First, what is the Sum of All Fears? Second, was Jack Skelton's face funny shaped? In the photo it looked almost heart shaped. I always tough it was really round in the film. Just looked odd to me.

Can't wait for more.
