Kimpup And I Went Back For A Weekend Of Fun& Dining!Update10/3 FULTONS DR-COMPLETED

What great pictures! Love your party attire!
This could be my report, you're staying at my favorite place and doing just about everything I'd do!!!:goodvibes

The morning and night in boardwalk are one of my favorite places!

Except the margaritas are better from La Cava. :rotfl:

Joann, I have to try La Cava, I'm looking over my December plans to see if we can fit it in!!

Wow, Il Mulino looked amazing!!! Sorry kimpup didn't like her entree, but very nice they removed it from the bill and then she had room for the No Way Jose. :rotfl2: Your entree looked to die for. I've got to stay over in that area sometime because we never get over there and there's so much good stuff, looks like!

LOL! Yes that No Way Jose was finished to the bottom! :) If you get to Il Mulino, you have to try my entree so good! Maybe you and your DD will do a trip to one of the Epcot Resorts!! So much over there and walking distance to Epcot and HS!!

Great review. Glad to see I am not the only person who goes to Il Mulino. Just doesn't seem to get much love on these boards.

I have two non food questions. First, what is the Sum of All Fears? Second, was Jack Skelton's face funny shaped? In the photo it looked almost heart shaped. I always tough it was really round in the film. Just looked odd to me.

Can't wait for more.

Il Mulino was so good. Most of the comments on these boards are that its the best Italian on property. It does live up to its rep. I think its because it's not on the dining plan and many people don't go there.
The Sum of All Thrills is my second favorite ride at Epcot. It is located inside of Innovations West. If you google it you can see you tube videos of the ride. You program it to be as wild as you want or as tame. It is a simulated type ride. Try it you will love it!

Yes Jack Skellington's head was a weird shape. But he was so funny I enjoyed meeting him! Onto the next review!!

Our last day :sad1: After we came back from Beaches and Cream on our last night, we requested a late checkout. They approved it and we were able to check out of Boardwalk at 1:00!! We drove to Old Key West at a little before 7:00 am. I didn’t realize how spread out that resort is. We heard so much about Olivia’s Café that we had to make an ADR. We went to the main building. The restaurant opened at 7:30 and we had 10 minutes so we looked in the gift shop next door. At 7:30 they seated us in a booth.

The restaurant is decorated so cute. I love the fans. The Manager and the wait staff were so much fun. We ordered

Banana Bread French Toast - topped with Bahamian Banana-Rum Butter Sauce, Coconut Cream, and served with your choice of Bacon, Sausage, or Ham. I got it with bacon, but DD substituted the meat for a fruit cup. The above photo is half eaten French Toast! :rotfl: We both thought this was great, but neither one of us could finish it. There was so much food.

After leaving Olivia’s, we drove to AK. Went on the Safari and saw so many more animals than we did on Saturday’s safari (late in the day) We had a run in with a rhino.

He went in front of the truck and stopped. He held up all the safari cars behind us for 15 minutes. Finally, he slowly moved out of the way – very exciting!

We always go to see the Vet almost every time we go. So we took the train there with the hopes that the vet would be working on a huge animal. So far we only saw birds being worked on. This time we saw this:

A frog who wouldn’t poop. We were disappointed, but it was interesting.

We only went on two things here at AK, then took the bus back to Boardwalk. We did some last minute packing and went down to check our luggage. We headed to Epcot. At Epcot, we went to Germany. We looked at the trains for a little while then We had something to eat at Sommerfest. We each had one of these:

Nudel Gratin. We had this last time we went to Epcot and loved it. It is so good creamy and tasty! Then we stopped in Karamel-Kuche. I bought 2 dark chocolate salted caramels to bring to my Mom’s. DD bought a german chocolate cookie. She took a few bites of it and didn’t really like it. I wish I took a bite to see. She told me she should have gotten her favorite marshmallow caramel swirl. I loved the salted caramels! I wish I had a photo of these but forgot. We then went over to France and went over to the Crepes Des Chefs De France Cart.

DD ordered

Chocolate soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone. She loved this. After our ice cream we went to get our luggage from the Boardwalk Inn and drove to Downtown Disney.

NEXT REVIEW: Dinner – Fulton’s Crab House

I had heard so much about the horrors of parking at Downtown Disney, I was afraid of what we would run into when we got there. When we approached DTD around the Disneyquest area, a sign said parking here so we turned in and found plenty of parking close by. We had to walk a bit, but stopped to look at shops in that area. We were headed for the balloon. We tried to go on that balloon on two other trips, but it was always too windy.
We spotted it.

When we got right up to it, we saw it go up! We bought some tickets and finally were up in the balloon!!

There’s Epcot back there:

Here is a shot looking down in the middle of the donut shaped gondola that carried us up.

DD and I up there:

After this, we shopped in some of the stores. We went to the new Marketplace co-op which had some interesting merchandise.

It was getting close to our ADR time. We walked to Fulton’s.

They sat us in the room with a bar. It had high tables and counter height chairs. We had a window seat. First the waitress brought out:

Crackers and a delicious spread. I don’t remember the ingredients. They also brought out:

Warm bread and butter. DD ordered three appetizers. You will notice that we took photos after we had devoured some of our meal :)

Crab Cake - Jumbo lump blue crab, maque choux, fried green tomato, remoulade. This was the best crabcake I have ever eaten. It was moist and tasty.

Calamari - Buttermilk fried rings, shis hito ( this word does not have a space before hito but Disboards apparently thinks its a curse word and blocked it out until I put the space there.) peppers, hoisin-chili sauce. This was good. I liked Il Mulino’s better Calamari better though.

Fish Tacos - Blackened market catch, pico de gallo, queso fresco, guacamole. I didn’t taste these, but DD enjoyed them.

I ordered

No not half eaten lobster tail :rotfl: but - Lobster Tail -7 ounce cold water tail, sautéed broccolini, red potatoes. This was very good cooked just right, not rubbery or too soft! They brought out:

Hot towels that we just threw over here!
For dessert we had our heart set on their bread pudding. They told us that they took it off the menu and do not have it anymore. It is still on the menu on the Disney site right now. Instead DD ordered:

Classic Tollhouse Cookie Sundae -Chocolate chip cookie, vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream. The cookie was hard as a rock and not warm.

I ordered:

Chocolate Crème Brûlée - Dark chocolate custard, caramelized sugar crust, seasonal berries. This was very good. Not custardy like a brulee, but more like a cross between custard and mousse. Kind of thick but very good!

It was getting late and I had to drop DD off at the airport so she could fly back home to JFK. After I dropped her off, I drove to my Mom’s house on the west coast to spend some time with her.

Sad to leave Disney, but looking forward to our longer Christmas-themed trip December 5 -12, when we will stay at Wilderness Lodge, attend all kinds of Christmas activities and try new restaurants and new entrees for my next Dining Reviews!

Awww, so sad to leave, but how WONDERFUL you'll be back before you know it!

I loved this update! The rhino and constipated frog :lmao:. I also loved the pictures of the balloon ride. I haven't really thought too hard about going up in it, but that view is so amazing! Also really showed how torn up DTD and that they must be doing something pretty major that hopefully will be great.

Fulton's sure looks good, thanks for the reviews! I enjoyed reading and can't wait to see more after your December trip (which I am so jealous of!)! :thumbsup2

Yum, those desserts look good! I'd have been disappointed with a cold cookie in that sundae, as it would have been so easy for them to warm the cookie and make the dessert perfect. Your chocolate creme brulee looks & sounds delightful--what a great way to end your quick trip down!

I've never been too excited about trying Fulton's, but your review makes it look really good. Thanks for your reviews!

Chocolate Crème Brûlée was great!! Hope you saw some food in those half eaten Fulton photos! :)

Thanks for the great review. Everything looks delicious and sounds like you had a fabulous time!

This trip was too quick! Fulton's looks good. The only time we were there was when it was The Empress Lilly! Can't wait to read about your longer trip in December!

I don't think your trip was long enough! Time to schedule another one. I enjoyed your reviews!

Great review. Glad you had a nice trip.

I am also happy to see your DD liked Fulton's fish tacos. That used to be one of my favorites. Last time I had it, there was no flavor. I will have to go back now.
