We land in Orlando around 2 pm on the day before our cruise. We are staying at MCO Hyatt and were wondering what would be recommended for the afternoon/evening. We've done WDW and are not interested in going back to that. I know the Hyatt has a pool, and we can eat in the airport, but what other options would you suggest?

No knowing your interests and ages, here are popular activities:

Crayola Experience at the Mall
Escapology Escape Games or America's Escape Game
Sea Life Aquarium at I-drive360 with Orlando Eye
Discovery Cove
Gatorland
SeaWorld
Citywalk at Universal
Disney Springs
Central Florida Zoo
Holy Land Experience

The Hyatt swimming pool is really nice early evening - nice rooms as well.

The casual restaurant in the Hyatt is excellent (McCoy's). Was just there in April before a cruise. We were very impressed. If you go, the s'mores in a cup dessert was fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised at the whole experience.

Thanks! We may just see what our mood is when we get there. We have husband, myself and 14 year old daughter. I'm fine with relaxing in the Florida sun and watching the planes but wasn't sure if there was a "must do".

Thanks for the recommendation. I had wondered if this worked as well as it sounds.

I know it sounds crazy but the suishi at McCoy's is very good. We have eaten there the night before our cruise for the last two trips. Their kids meals are so good our son ordered one over grabbing McDonald's or Chick Fil A.

The Titanic Experience! Keeps with the cruise theme, just don't get freaked out.

My kids keep wanting to go back to this! They ABSOLUTELY loved it, especially the large "ice berg" at the end. They loved the whole crew and had pictures with everyone. They were 7 and 5 when we went.

Ohh thanks for posting this!! I think we might do this! We are doing an immigration project for school, and we just learned that my Great Great Grandma came over from England a week after the Titanic sunk, so I think my DD will be thrilled with this

My Husband loves Sushi so this will be on the list for where we eat. Thanks!!

Thanks for all the advice. Our daughter will be almost 14, so we may just hang out by the pool and people watch in the airport. I'm so ready for some relaxation. I had wondered about Sea World but didn't know if it would be doable by the time we checked in to the hotel and then got a cab to get there.

I think Seaw World is pretty much an allday thing but I love that place so I wouldn't probably do it if you arrive at 2 pm. (Uber cheaper than a cab :) )

Furthermore, SeaWorld shows are designed to make it difficult to do in a day. They do have rides, though.

Did you guys get "good" or "bad" names?

Any close grocery stores near by worth the trip? I think we have a 2 hr window after landing...TIA
