We have an ADR at Boma for 7:40pm. We will be in the AK in the afternoon, but it closes at 6:00pm. If we go to the AKL at Ak closing, what can we do to pass the time until the ADR? Thanks!

You could go to Victoria Falls and wait while having a few snacks and drinks. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=232

It's located right above Boma and you can actually look at the restaurant and buffet line from VF. There are alot of other activities at AKL you can do such as view the animals on the savannah and maybe catch a story by an open pit fire.

Walk out to the rear of the hotel to the savannah area! We spent about 45 minutes watching the animals before our ADR at Boma. Great!

Walk around and explore the resort. You can do anything you want except enjoy the pool and hot tubs. There's a place just off the lobby that overlooks the savannah and has rocking chairs in an area right abouve the outdoor firepit. Talk to the Cast Members - they are very knowledgeable about the animals and are very willing to talk to you. Even the lobby is a nice place with overstuffed chairs and couches and board games to play. And check out their gift shop. My favorite of all the resort gift shops.

That's what I'd recommend. I don't think you'll have any problem "killing time at AKL". I have the same situation-dining at Boma's, coming from AK, a couple hours between when AK closes and my ADR. But I delibrately planned it that way. I could have taken an ADR time closer to when AK closes, but I want to spend some time looking at the animals and just checking out the resort and gift shop.

Don't forget to walk to the far side of the pool, where there is a flamingo viewing area. Right now they have baby flamingos and some eggs that should be hatching soon. There are also ducks and ducklings there. Just take the elevator from the lobby to the 1st floor.;)

yes this is what we did too, very nice! And one of the workers was telling all the kids about the animals out back. It was good way just to hang out.

You could just go to the AK Lodge lobby, plop down in a comfy chair and rest your AK tired tootsies for a while, that's what I'm thinking of doing between AK and Boma. ;

Of course, I'll probably go to the lobby via the giftshop.... ;)

So much to see at that resort -- well actually at almost any Disney resort.

I love to sit by the big indoor fireplace/pit. Or I love the gift shop ;)

Outside you can check out the animals.

Sometimes the ladies from Boma are entertaining the crowd waiting for tables. I've seen them dance while some folks played drums.

Wander through the lobby and corridors. The AKL is the second largest museum of African Art in the United States, after only the Smithsonian. Note that anything that cannot be touched without climbing over a fence or up a ladder is real. If it can be touched it is a reproduction.

We purposely got a 7p reservation for Boma on our AK night just so we could have a little time at AKL prior. Don't worry, there will be plenty to see and do, and if you feel you have seen it all, go to the lounge and have a Victoria Falls Mist!

If you get there early just go to the Boma desk and check in. You will probably be seated right away. This place may have many rabid fans on the Dis boards, but, it's really not *that* popular.
