Kilimanjaro Safaris Additions?

One of our favourite attractions at Disney is Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom. We love animal and no matter how many times we ride this attraction, it seems it's different every time which is awesome.

We were there on Wednesday, our first trip over in about two weeks and noticed a new habitat of Wild Dogs when you turn left onto the savanna portion of the attraction, which was cool to see. Also, to the right once you head to the savanna, there appears to be a new habitat in the making.

I hope they continue to expand, if they indeed are, and to add more animals to the attraction.

We've also seen a lot of the lions the past few trips we have taken on the safari, which is at times, rare. Looking forward to the night time safaris when they are available. A lot of the animals that are there are nocturnal animals. That will be a different experience on the attraction I am looking forward to.

Anyone else notice these changes/additions?

Haven't gotten to see them yet, but have read about them, and excited to see the African painted dogs and the new water buffalo. Also beyond excited about being able to take a night time safari!!!

They were pretty active when we saw them, which was cool to see. Looked just like their name sake, Painted Dogs.

The zebras were new for us, but I didn't mention them because I thought they had been there awhile.

Yeah. We have seen the Zebras for some time now. At least three or four months if I am not mistaken. The water buffalo is there as well. We did not see them, though they were mentioned to be there now.

I went first thing in the morning last week and they were sleeping

I had thought I heard a long time ago that they took out the Zebras initially due to some issues, but apparently they've worked through all of that.

Yes, I've heard the Zebras are ... kinda like a group of out-of-control Jr High boys, running around and being obnoxious to other occupants.
I think they may have been 1st in the main savanna, but got banned. Then they built a new area at the end of the tour, but they were too obnoxious running across the driving paths...

Haha, those crazy Zebras! I'm glad they were able to reincorporate them though, they'll definitely add to the mix.

The zebras are there, but have been relocated from their original spot.

The wild dogs were neat to see although we zipped by pretty fast. They were pacing their area rather quickly & the driver said they were still acclimating. Watched that area being built this fall & got to see them earlier this month.

Where is the water buffalo located?

There were some babies when we went this month. Not sure how long they've been around but if you haven't been in a while they'll be a cute addition.
