When we were at WDW last week, on KS, several giraffes stopped our safari truck by wandering and stopping in the road in front of us. After about 10 minutes (maybe more) a truck (Animal Care?) came out and kind of shooed them off to the side so we could continue. The driver kept appologizing for the delay, but I loved it. In all my times on KS, none of the animals have affected our trip so much. I kept snapping pictures. Here are a few-

So who else has a story of animal "interference" on KS? Tell us about it!

Two years ago we had a similar experience with a baby White Rhino. A truck didn't come out, rather Mama Rhino after about 15 minutes and we continued on our way. It was fantastic!

Nice! We were delayed about 5 minutes once due to an Ostridge!

We were the first truck to be stopped by a giraffe in the road eating. After several minutes, a worker drove out and tried to prod the giraffe aside with a deck broom. The giraffe had no interest in moving, so a long line of trucks formed behind us. He did finally move and it seems we flew through the ride. I think all the vehicles were in the back up behind us and they had stopped loading people.
I love giraffes and it was quite interesting to watch the interaction between staff and him. This was in 2005 or 2006.

We were lucky enough to have a stubborn ostrich do the same thing to us last year RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE LIONS!!! Better yet....the Lions were awake! I have some photos, but they are all on my hubby's external hard drive that is with him.

Our group was stopped when a few Rino's stop in the path and cause a 10-15 minute delay. And just as we were almost at the point where the Rino's stopped everyone. But the car behind us got the Rino's in the way LOL It made us late for breakfast too:laughing:
