Kilimanjaro Club Concierge

This is true but it’s also important people have realistic expectations of how hard those rooms are and how few do exist!

For sure. I wouldn't own there purely to book value or club rooms, unless I wanted 1 bedrooms of either.

That said, I own points there and love the resort - even though I could book there with SAPs, I am happy I own points there. I often look at trading out my AKV reservations at 7 months, but frankly there's not many other places I'd rather be...

Question on a somewhat related note...

It's said there are 10 of these rooms (5 studios and 5x1BRs) available for DVC bookings, or 5 2BR Lockoffs if those can ever be booked as such. But the Club level has 12 rooms/doors - 6 on the pool side (6401-6406) and 6 on the savanna side (6407-6412).

In support of the 10 rooms, Touring Plans shows rooms 6401, 6402, 6405, and 6406 as the rooms on the pool side.

So what is the deal with 6403 and 6404?

Interesting. I thought there was one less 2BR (1BR/studio) on the pool side because it's shorter than the savanna side due to the elevators, restroom, and club lounge. So I thought it was 6 doors on one side and 4 on the other. But from what you're showing, it might be 6 on both sides? Or did they skip 6403 and 6404 for some superstitious reason (like they skip floor 13 or floor 4 on some elevators, etc)?! Never noticed that before.

Last year I got one night by a total fluke. Since then, have had no luck whatsoever and I've decided to thoroughly appreciate that one night experience that others might never be able to have, and give up. The stress (plus waste of time) got to me.
It's been much calmer since. :-)

I can’t remember the numbering but there’s definitely only two studios and two one-bedrooms on the pool side (we’ve stayed in both of the studios and one of the one-bedrooms).

When we stayed in the 01 room it seemed to me like there were 6 rooms on that side.

Not just the numbering but, even though I didn't walk all the way down the hall, I was under the impression there were 5 rather than 3 additional doors past our room. The sign at the beginning of the hallway definitely said 6401-6406.

Just stayed club level for four nights. I was disappointed with their offerings compared to what I experienced at beach club. I don’t think I’ll try to book club level again.

What was different between the two? I'm curious as I've never done either

Beach club seemed to have quite a bit more food, and higher quality. They had a whole kids bar, AK offered one kids item per night (Mac and cheese, meatball, corn dogs). AK just didn’t have much variety and for hot appetizers they had one meat on a small plate and one little cup of soup (and I mean little). I remember beach club setting out fancy appetizers in this manner but then also recall them having some self-serve hot items as well. I guess it’s sort of hard to describe in words the difference, AK just seemed to offer less. Also, their water machine was broken and we don’t really drink soda or juices and they don’t put out water at breakfast time. This was just a temporary issue but felt like they should’ve come up with some remedy?

Overall, the food definitely just seemed sort of cheap. Didn’t feel like a good value (although we paid with points). I’d rather use my points at a higher cost resort and just pay to go eat good food at an actual restaurant.

interesting, as I found the Yacht Club concierge service to be vastly inferior to AK,
We just stayed a week in AKV club level and the main benefits are a more personal service, cast members that have time to take an interest in your day, the amount of cultural representatives, I played one at Morabaraba which was fun

As for the food and drink, the most offerings are at breakfast although disappointed that bread pudding only on twice that week

The next main meals are at 5, which can be random food from Boma usually (I remember Jiko staff used to come up but no more)
but you are right one or two are not really going to fill you up although you can get unlimited amounts
Cookies and desserts from 8 were better this year than last as I’m not keen on the tarts, oh and unlimited ghiradellis!

Free wine, mimosas, cocktails, beer, spirits, liqueurs will appeal to some as well
My teenagers love Club Level but younger kids, picky eaters may wish to skip

lol, you mentioned Ghiradelli but the last time we stayed CL, there was none and the CM said it was because it was so hot. Who knows…..

I did like the nightly turndown service and chocolates on the pillows in the past.
Would love to see pics if you have any :)
We have a week booked -Studio CL-in October but now that we have more AKV points to play with, I am stalking the Grand Villas at Jambo but our dates are not available.

I love well seasoned food and I find their offerings to be good to great.

OP, we have had luck in getting every room category except the Grand Villa but I am confident that we will. We only recently had enough points to even consider a week in a GV. But, we want to have a large family vacation next Summer.

Starting on topic, I’ve owned AKV 5 years and managed to get a Club room every year, I’ve had to walk them for months sometimes though

Frankly, there is very little reason to own points there otherwise because it's typically not a difficult 7 month booking and dues are a little bit higher than other resorts.

In that case, I wouldn't buy VAKL. But I wouldn't buy VAKL. Staying there isn't difficult at the seven months window and dues are high. If I'm buying, its for either a low dues resort or a resort where its hard to get into AVERAGE rooms at seven months. Not for BWV standard view studios or VAKL Concierge or any of the other "you need to get lucky" rooms.

We're going in April and originally had the week but dropped a few days because the points were hurting and had never done it so wanted to ease into it and see if it was worth it since we're in the parks so much.
Since you were just there I'd love to ask you if you could tell if there were any "healthy" options alongside the actually delicious food lol. I'm on a bit of a restricted diet...must eat healthier, and wondering if that's even possible in the club. Obviously dessert is a no go at this point but can have a drink or two.

Definitely valid!

I'm probably the total counterargument to that.

We strongly favor rooms that sleep 5 (although that may change with our oldest now in college) and we like to be close to the parks so staying at AKV is not usually at the top of our list.

However, the concierge rooms are unique to us (we'd never pay for a cash stay at any of the other Club levels) and the value rooms are very cheap (better for a short stay where we're not in the room much) so staying there in a studio becomes more attractive to us on those occasions. Otherwise, out "normal" room of choice at AKV is a 1BR Kidani Savanna view (we also do the 1BRs at BLT) and booking that at 7 months is very doable.

There are no 6403 and 6404 club level rooms on the pool view side of the building, just 6401-02 and 6405-06. That is also the same on the fifth floor for DVC rooms directly below those club level rooms where there is only 5401-02, and 5405-06. The supposed, unnumbered rooms shown on that Touring Plans map in the dark color is actually where the elevators are.

We enjoy the value 1Br - love the kitchen with the island instead of the peninsula. We're not concierge people = too regimented.

Could someone please answer a question for me. I shockingly grabbed a one night 1 bedroom Kilimanjaro Club reservation. We are at Bay Lake so will be leaving BLT for a night and then go back. My daughter/SIL are thrilled as I got them a Poly reservation in the new Tower bldg for several days.

I want them to see the Kilimanjaro Club and know they can't get in and tried to enter them on my reservation so they can see it (not interested in eating as they have other ADR's already reserved) and also park without a problem. After I added their names, this popped up. Never heard or saw anything like this and wondered what it meant? I certainly don't want their Poly reservation cancelled. Is that what this means?
Please help me understand. Thank you so much.
