What are the Kidstuff activities at Epcot? It looks like each country has an activity for the kids. Will my DS 8 & DD 3 enjoy this?

They pick up a mask at any of the countries, and at each country they get a "passport" stamp on the stick of the mask, and they keep decorating it at each country. It's kind of neat actually.

If you get a good CM (and there are a lot of good CMs) they'll write extra things on the passport that you can get at Epcot, which DS really liked. Someone at UK wrote his name in Welsh, the young lady in Japan wrote him a poem in Japanese--it was really quite nice! I keep thinking he's outgrown it--but he wants to get another mask and another passport when we go back. It's a nice thing to do for kids to sit down a minute and take a break. It also gives them the opportunity to talk to young adults from places outside the US. The CMs seem perfectly happy to answer questions about where they live.

Now there are activities in Future World as well. The kids get a lanyard with an Epcot card attached. at each Future World Pavillion, they can color and add Die Cuts to their lanyard. :flower:

Neat! Where does on find the lanyards?

The exit of Test Track has one, there is one in the Land and one in the Living Sea's.

Another fun activity my 2 ds had was collecting pressed pennies at all of the countries. It only costs .51 cents for each one (most had 2 or 3 to choose from). You can also buy a passport book and have each CM stamp the book and wrote a little something in them.

**We learned by them taking the time to write something to us, how different each country is in the way they write. For Example: Moracco they write from the right to the left (instead of left to right like us) and if you are left handed they consider you to be very smart. My boys loved to hear that because they both are left handed :teeth:

Have fun, there is so much to learn and have fun with when visiting Epcot!

The masks are available at the Kidcot station at any country (these will be marked on your map) and are free. Kids can color the masks, and the CM at each country will put a stamp on the mask's stick and hang a little cut-out from that country on the mask.

There are also passport kids, which can be bought in any country for $9.99. I think they're also available in Future World, but I'm not 100% sure. We got ours in Mexico - they were right by the cash registers. In the kit you get a passport with stickers for each country and a button. At the Kidcot station, you can get the CM to sign your passport. They'll use the same stamp as on the mask, and a lot of times they'll write something on there in their language. We did both the masks and the passport and really liked them both.

We did not do the penny presses, but intend to next year. Here is a site you can go to if you want to see the locations of the machines. I know you can also buy little books to put your squashed pennies into, but I don't know where they're sold. Someone will, though, I'm sure! :flower:

A question about the pennies...so you pay .51, 50 cents plus "the penny", is it the ACUTAL penny you put in that you get back? Wondering because I wouldn't want to put a nasty old penny in there to get pressed! :~)

This activity is one I think my kids will LOVE -they are so "into" money right now! lol

Thanks,
Dawn

Yup! The penny you put in is the one that gets pressed. So, pick a nice shinny one. We usually have a zip-lock bag filled with shimmy pennies so we would never have to use a dirty one or search for a clean one.

thank you...time to start searching for "pretty pennies"!!! :~) Does anyone know the books you can buy at Disney to put these in...how many do they hold?

Thanks so much...looking more forward to my Epcot day everyday.

Dawn

Here's a thread I found that may help. Looks like the books are $6 or $7 and hold 36 pennies each.

Anytime... :flower:
I needed to know this info for myself anyway, since I'll be doing the penny press thing with my kiddos next summer... :earsboy:
