I have 2 daughters with Cystic Fibrosis and we are going to be cruising on the magic on 9-7...My question is, both girls need enzymes with their meals...they are perfectly healthy otherwise and will require no other care (other than treatments I will do in the stateroom)..I just wondered if the counselors can give the girls the enzymes or if I have to keep up with mealtimes and be there everytime they eat. My 7 year old is perfectly capable of taking them herself (as she has been doing it all her life) but I don't know if she will be allowed to keep them in the club area. Just wondered if anyone knows the policies of meds in the kids club areas. Thanks for any help you can offer.

No, sorry, the counselors are not allowed to keep or give medications at all. Here is a link to general information regarding the children's programming participation requirements:

Enjoy your cruise! :)

My 9 yr. old niece also has CF and my DB and SIL took her on the Magic a couple of years ago. She too was very used to taking her own meds (enzymes with meals) and took them with her to the children's programs (in a fanny or back pack I believe). My SIL said there was no problem. My niece loved the kids club and it was hard for them to tear her away. I think your daughters ought to be fine. Good luck...

Thanks for the info...thats what I expected. It really isn't a big deal to plan to be there at meal times. (the kids not getting the pills would be the real problem..that could ruin the vacation) I just know my children are really excited about the kids programs and that they aren't going to want to eat every meal with me. I could probably let my 7 year old take her pills in a fanny pack but since I have to go back to give my 3 year old hers anyway, I might as well just give them both the pills and not risk her forgetting or worse, dropping them and giving someone else a big scare...(of course I know they are not harmful but if my child got ahold of someone else's meds I'm sure I would not be happy). I'm sure we'll all have a great time no matter what...Thanks again for the help. We are all soooo excited and ready to go!!!:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earseek: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earseek: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earseek:
