Where do you find there winter jackets? I can't find anything in navy or black for my dd! Thought I could find something in Land's End or something---nothing..this is our 1st yr in uniform....

if the school is "uniform nasty" (sticklers for the uniform, won't allow knock-offs, only the brand they get a kick back on) you may have to bite the bullet and order from their company. if they are more flexible try the boy's department or a london fog outlet (awsome prices-WARM coats).

:confused3 I wore a uniform for 12 years and we could wear any outerwear we wanted.

I would try llbean....right now they have no shipping charges!

DD's been in uniforms for 2 years in middle school. They can wear any jacket they want TO and FROM school but it must get put into the locker once they arrive. It cannot be worn in school. If they want to wear a jacket at school, they have to buy the school sweatshirt and they can wear that while AT school.

I have never heard of having to have a uniform coat too.

Try LLBean or Eddie Bauer.

My ds' wear uniforms - they can wear regular coats, but inside the classrooms it's either a school hoodie or navy sweater/vest.

Have you tried JCPenney? Also The Children's Place has a great selection of girls uniform stuff. I lucked out, found a solid navy sweater at the Gap outlet near me. On sale, too! I think $6.97!

the school my kids went (went as in no longer go there) originaly allowed parents to purchase uniform pcs. from any manufacturer as long as they matched the uniform. when they learned that schools with large purchases received a financial kick back from the company they used, they instituted a uniform code that required purchasing from thier manufacturer only (they went so far as to check the tags inside the shirts, sweaters...and if it was not it became a dress code violation and the student was sent home). outer wear was a high dollar item and they received a larger percentage of the purchase price, so uniform coats and jackets became the only allowable outer wear. :guilty:

No - they arent real tough @ her school & thank goodness they can come from anywhere! Most everyone buys their clothes @ Target - though we haven't had good luck - we've been in school 2 months & the clothes have faded already! BOught a good bit from Pennys - but they don't have the solid color black/navy coats. I guess I'm gonna call the school tom & see where they recommend going.

I DID find 2 @ LL. BEAN (YEA!) so now I @ least have choice.
THANKS !

The School is requiring you to have a solid navy or blue coat-meaning a winter coat not a suit coat right?

Wow, never heard of having to have matching jackets too.................that's a bit over the edge.

DS's school requires solid color jackets, also. "Hoodies" have to be purchased from the school.

You might try www.frenchtoast.com as I've always gotten his navy windbreakers there.
