Kids under three

Are there any specific things I need to know about when bringing kids under three into the parks?

I know they do not require admission tickets, but do I need to provide proof of age to the Disney people wherever I go?

Any information would be helpful, as I have had a difficult time finding anything about it on any of the Disney information websites.

They won't ask for proof of age. If your under 3 child is really big they may ask the child. If it is getting close to that big #3 birthday, just don't practice "I'm three" too early!

Exactly the question I was going to ask. My sister has asked if her daughter who will be 2 when we go in July, will need some sort of ticket or will they just let her walk in?

I wasn't sure since we had purchased a package that included tickets when my daughter was 2 so we all had a card to slide at the gate.

How does that work? Will she just walk in with her parents?

No - no problem they will need a FP from everyone in your party except the under 3 child!

That's good to know since my daughter will be below two when we go. Question-what is a fast pass? How much does it cost? Where do you get it at?

under 3 kids don't need a pass. we don't even take our daughter out of the stroller. the CM at the turnstiles opens the gate for me, put my pass in the reader and everything. it's great

we are taking our daughter (2+ years old) for her 4th trip in March. any other questions....ask away!

This is really stressing me out as our dd will be 32 months old.... As it is she tells everyone she is 3, she is big for her age, and has a huge vocabulary.. I plan to bring a copy of her birth certificate just in case.. Neourotic, I know, but I just have this feeling if they ask her she will tell them 3.. Keep in kind she also tells people she has 3 ears, 3 eyes, 3 feet,etc.......!

Don't worry I think most CM's are used to the fun answeres kids give. Why not grab a copy of the BC - our town has wallet size, this way you have proof just in case.

Can you try and teach her to say I will be three in "____" this way she can be proud of her age without you worrying?

They must be starting to crack down on the age thing. When we went in December, ds was still 2, but he was 39-1/2 inches tall. For the first couple of days, EVERY CM asked (kinda snippy too) "And how old is the little boy?" I finally just started saying "HE'S TWO!!!" anytime a CM looked at me at the gate, whether they asked or not. Nobody asked for proof, though.

On a better note, when we went back in January, he was 3 and had to get his very own AP! One of my best pictures is him putting his pass into the little reader over and over again! We argued and argued with him until the CM said very sweetly "You can come in now!" and he finally did. Now he just wants to show his ticket at every show, ride, etc. He's so proud of the fact that we had to spend $172 on him! That and now he's tall enough to ride Splash Mountain!!

No questions were ever asked anywhere...and it was truly great....suggestion: introduce her to all the characters before you go, so she won't be so intimidated by their size...and also, sometimes toontown in the MK opens an hour later then the rest of the park, and if you get to the entrance gate a few minutes early, like 5 - 10, the characters will come out, ,open the gate, and lead the kids back to toontown!

We went a week before my son's 3rd birthday. No one asked questions about his age when going into the parks, but we were charged for a child's price at Chef Mickeys, Ohanas, and Ashkerus. My son eats alot and they assumed that he was indeed over 3. Once I pulled out his birth certificate they removed the charges and were very pleasant about it. I would bring a copy of the certificate just in case....

We went the week my youngest turned 3. He and his older brother who was almost 5 were in strollers. The cm's at the park entrance always just assumed they were both under 3 since they were in strollers and always seemed surprised when we said we had to put my older sons ticket through. I have BIG boys too. No one ever questioned us though

Just to make sure I understand - If your child is under 3 years old they eat for free too? That's great if that is the case! Our DS will be turning 3 on our last night at WDW and if we don't have to pay for him for meals for the week leading up to his b'day that's great!! We defiantely have to pay for his kiddie meals here at home. And I really like your Username - We always get a giggle out of DS with a little "Heeeeeeeerrrrrrre's Brucceee!!!!"

They are only free at some restaurants. I think all the buffet restaurants, but I am not positive. On our last 2 trips, our littlest one was free at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and Cinderella's breakfast (all character meals, although Cindy's was not a buffet, it is preplated). They are NOT free at counter service places.

Yes, he was free at buffets but not counter service or sit down and order off the menu restaurants. We did a lot of buffets. HAve a great time!
