A friend of mine is going to WDW in December, and I wanted to double check that I gave her the right info. She and her DH will be traveling with DS1 1/2 along with her parents. He really doesn't eat a lot at all, just a picky eater. I told her that she doesn't have to include him in her count of people when making her ADR's. She should just tell them a party of 4, not 5. Their son probably wouldn't eat an entire kids meal, so it really is a waste of money. I thought I remembered reading somewhere on here that kids under 3 can share a plate with an adult. Is this still correct? :confused3

Thanks all for your help!

Yes, you do have to include all persons in the party, even infants. Your friend's party is a party of 5 -four adults and one infant.

The deal with a child under 3 is that they may share off their parents' plates and it's not necessary to purchase food for them...but they still take up a place at the table.

You should tell them how many people, infants included, are in the party. When we went to CRT last February they gave my DD 9 months a bowl of buttered pasta, she loved it and chowed! In fact, my other DD (4) ended up eating some of her pasta too because she didn't like her entree.
For our next trip I'm going to have my DD share with me and her sister, she eats more then her big sister anyway! But we're also doing a couple more buffets which will work out well for us!

I agree!

Like others have said, yes under 3 can share, even at buffets. But we always made our ADRs for the total number of people -- since this has alot more to do with table allocation than $, and we didn't want to have to wait any longer than necessary to be seated.

Every body is counted. Even infants who can't sit in a highchair. If you need a highchair, they need to be at a table that can accommodate it. We travel with our grand children often (1yo and 2yo) and they are always counted when making ADRs. I'm surprised that the CM didnot ask your friend if there are any children in the party as they ask that ALL of the time.

Yep! I agree with the others! It's really the space at the table that the info is needed for. They can figure out who's eating what with whom when they get there!

Thanks everyone for your help. I've already gotten in touch with my friend to correct my mistake. I'm glad I check with the people in the know!!!

:thanks: :disrocks:
