Kids ticket?

We are thinking of cancelling our upcoming trip in October unless some of the restrictions get lifted, mainly parades and fireworks. We have a room only reservation( Camping @ FW) so we have plenty of time to decide for sure. We purchased our tickets in Jan. this year. they are the old MYW we purchased at local MWR. My DH is DOD so we do not qualify for the Salute tickets. My DD9 turns 10 in November if we cancel this trip we will not make it back before 2021. What is the process of changing it to an adult ticket?

You can roll the cost over to a new ticket.
you MIGHT be able to get them to honor it due to the circumstances but I wouldn’t count on it.

What is the process of changing it to an adult ticket?

You can book advance FPs based on having the original (current) ticket.
When you arrive at WDW, you can pay the difference to make the kids ticket into a new adult ticket before entering a park.
