Hi,

My girls like burgers, dogs, chicken nuggets, and mac&cheese as much as any other kid, but they don't prefer these foods. Glancing at many of the kids' menus, I see almost the same stuff. I'm probably going to take my girls' to buffets for dinner so they have more choices. I figure for lunch we'll be eating the burgers, nuggets, etc. Do you have any restaurant or buffet suggestions that stand out from the norm?

Thanks!!

my 6 year old was able to order ala carte from the Artist Point menu at WL. She loves soup, and they had a wild mushroom soup. they even brought her a sample to make sure she liked it before they brought the bowl.

Boma! If your girls are adventurous eaters, they may enjoy the variety here. My DD was 8 when we last ate here. She wasn't super adventurous, but she did try some of the African dishes. They also have a wonderful fresh fruit section on the buffet! Plus, there is also a section of kid favorites, such as chicken fingers, spaghetti, & mac& cheese, just in case they want that. From what I've read here, Tusker House inside the AK is offering some of the same things as Boma since they've changed over to buffet.

Ohana is great too! The kids are given the kid stand-by foods upon request, but my kids ate mostly the foods everyone else ate. They have a great salad, chicken wings, shrimp, potatoes, and lots of grilled meats. My DS6, who has recently emerged from being the world's pickiest kid, ate the shrimp as fast as I could peel them!

Those are two of our favorites, where everyone choose from the same foods. I'm sure there are others that we haven't tried, but maybe this is a start!

ETA: I just remembered that DD had a great grilled mahi-mahi at Coral Reef, from the children's menu. It came with rice and broccoli, I believe. Le Cellier also has a steak on the kids' menu.

Jiko has a nice kids' menu. It's my kids' (DD8 & DS6) favorite restaurant.

Several of the Epcot World Showcase restaurants have excellent kids' menus with smaller portions of some of the same kinds of food on the regular menu. At 50s Prime Time, you can get a half order of the fried chicken, meatloaf, potroast, etc.

My DD8 prefers items off the adult menu. We do several buffets for this reason. This is also the reason we do NOT do the dining plan, not enough selection for her.........she is on vacation too!!

If you aren't on the dining plan, there's no issue - just let the kids order from adult menus if they want to.

On the dining plan, it takes a little more thinking. Some places have better kids' menus than others. Mahi-mahi at Coral Reef, steak at Le Cellier, and salmon at Cali Grill come immediately to mind. And when it comes to counter service, look for the handful of places that don't have kids' menus - Main Street Bakery was a big hit with my kids, as was Pizza Planet - or share adult meals. Many adult CS meals are plenty big enough for sharing! The buffets we've tried have been great too. Boma and 1900 Park Fare (before the menu change - haven't been recently) were my kids' favorites, and the menus for the Tusker House and Crystal Palace buffets are appealing enough that they made it into the plans for our upcoming trip.

These are all really great ideas. I think we will be squeezing Boma in at some point.

I don't think we will be getting the DDP. We usually graze during the day and split meals then eat a nice dinner.

Thanks!!
