I think DS had his first real "temper tantrum" last night and it was almost funny! :teeth:

He was playing around in the kitchen when I was trying to make dinner. He was mostly staying out of my way on the other end of the room but then he decided to try to open the dishwasher, etc. and play right by my feet while I was cooking. I told him that he couldn't play there and of course he didn't listen to me so I asked DH to come get him and take him into the living room to play while I finished dinner.

As soon as DH rounded the corner and DS realized that he had come in there to take him away the crying started. DH tried to get DS to take his hand to lead him into the living room but DS wanted no part of that. He then proceeded to cry louder and flopped himself down on the kitchen floor face down just wailing. What was so funny is that after about 10-15 seconds of this he stops crying a little and tries to peek up at us to see what we are doing about it! :teeth: I guess he was just testing our limits. DH scooped him up accompanied with more crying and told him that it wasn't going to work and took him into the living room to play.

I guess round one is a win for DH and I - who wants to bet that we see round two tonight?. :) ;) :p

Ahhhh -- know that flop on the ground tantrum all too well!! :teeth: They are quite funny after a while, I will admit!

hehe Been there, done that! My mom used to leave the room while i screamed, so I would stop crying, get up and follow her to where ever she had gone. After about 3 room changes i would give up.

My ds prefers to throw anything that is near him when he starts the screaming fest.

good luck and hope you can say they are almost funny for the next 2 years! (jk i hope he doesn't continue to have them!0

Oh how I can relate. 99% of the time DD is easy going and cooperative. However, when she gets in a mood watch out because it's quite a performance;) . Just keep holding your gound:)

Oh yeah, going through that right now. DS will lay on the floor and hit his head against it. He has like a permanant bump on his forehead because he won't stop hitting on things. He also does the throwing...when he's done with anything, it gets thrown. If he needs more water, instead of handing me the cup, it gets thrown at me. DD never did anything like this so this is all new to us. And there are times when it is so dramatic that you can't help but laugh (of couse he doesn't see us laugh). Hang in there...it has to get better.

LOL Becka Connor has done this a couple of times also when I wont let him play with stuff he is not supposed to have. I believe he and Nathan are only a couple of weeks apart so its looks like they are both right on schedule! ;)
