Kids stocking stuffer ideas?

I'm going to do a $5 GC to Chuck E Cheese, a GC to the bowling alley and I picked up a Star Wars tooth tunes at WDW (he will LOVE that). I haven't thought about DD's stocking yet

My crazy stocking stuffer for dd11 this year is a pink wireless mouse!!

We need a wireless one because our wire is driving me nuts. When I thought I needed a new keyboard, I saw one on Amazon in fun colors, so I'm throwing it in the stocking.

Any ideas for a 6 and 10 year old boys? My work is sponsering 2 moms and their kids from a domestic violence shelter. I have little girls, so I'm at a loss. One wanted Wall E DVD and PJs, the 6 year old wanted "a toy" and PJs. So sad...we want to make it special for them, so I thought a stocking with wrapped gifts inside would also be nice. But what do boys like/want?

Moms of boys...help! Please :goodvibes

(To clarify...the stockings would be in additon to what they asked for, something extra. And, do you think socks and underwear would be ok, too? I can't help but think they'd need them. I know my kids go through them like crazy.)

My DS6 just loves scratch off lotto tickets. Its something I never buy any other time of year - so its extra special to pull some tickets out of the stocking!

One of my FAV places for sticking stuffers is The Cracker Barrell Resturant, they have a lot of cute stuff at great prices, old fashion toys, and toys that travel well, also a good variety of different kinds of candy you don't see just everywhere. This year I also found a few things at my local World Market. I'll try and come back later and post specifics :santa: .

I thought I was the only one who went there for those things. I went there for Easter baskets too. Funny how these simple little wooden toys that cost $1 keep them entertained for hours. I've even caught the adult family members playing with them too :rolleyes1

My Girl Scout troop is sponsoring a family shelter for domestic abuse families. there are 42 kids there ages 2mo-14 years. I jsut wanted to commend your office for doing this and to say that some of the boys (age 10-14) asked for Tech decks on their wish lists.

My DS7 is into Legos in a big way. They have some cute sets for $5 that fit easily in stockings (Lego Racers and Lego Creator).

Also, both of my kids are requesting a wind-up toy in their stockings. And Hot Wheels toys always go over well with DS.

A warm hat and pair of gloves go well in a stocking. As do a cool toothbrush and kids' toothpaste and kids' shampoo.

Also, some school supplies (crayons, pencils, etc...) might be a good idea.

I hope this helps!

What I have so far:

DD10:
PS2 game
watch
pencils with name on them
webkinz

DS8:
PS2 game
watch
pencils with name on them
webkinz

edit: I realized that the knex car was a gift for exchange at school, not for the stocking...but it would work for a stocking stuffer. Like a previous poster said, Michaels has some neat stuffers, including the knex car.

This is what I have so far for DS ( almost 6) and by the looks of it, it is NOT budget!!!!!!!
Cleveland Indians baseball
Cleveland Indians baseball cards
baseball shaped whistle with gum inside
jump rope
Gameboy Advance HULK game
magic towel
Hulk yo-yo
2 My First Reader books
large word search book
book of mazes
magic ink book
Cars bubble bath
new hockey puck
chocolate hockey player and puck
HUGE Hersheys chocolate bar

Not sure if it will all actually fit inside but kind of a nice variety I think!!!!

The American girl website has some good stocking stuffers in the sale section under books and games.

Some books for as low as $2 and the magnetic mini worlds for $5. Free shipping ends today.

Bakugans (they are $5 ea.), these little Matchbox cars "Scouts" they are called ($6 ea.), chocolate, 3 or 4 dollar bills rolled up, small wallet (maybe with a $5 gift card for WM or Chuck E Cheese), watch (dollar spot at Target or for $5 or so at Wal-Mart), stickers, temporary tattoos, any Crayloa stuff...hmmm...I'll still keep thinking!:confused3

ALSO.....I saw the cutest stocking stuffers at WM the other day. They were in with the bow and little Christmas pencils etc...They are Christmas debit cards. There are 4 different ones included and they are good for making cookies, movie night, building a snowman and something else, I can't remember. So it is kind a different spin on the "coupon book". Your kids can cash them in with you whenever they want. Also, gives them something to put in their wallet...which you know they love;) . They were .99 and they are really well done. SUPER cute and something I had never seen before.

We have what is called "Stcoking Night". It is usually about week or so after Christmas. We head over to the inlaws house and we all have stockings to open. They are filled with little things but there could also be a piece of nice jewelry, gift cards etc.. Someone always gets "the vial of life" which is a little glass bottle with a cork and inside is a fifty dollar bill. We have the best fun on this night :)

Here's my list so far:

DS4
Kung Fu Panda DVD
Book from Target dollar spot
Tooth tunes

Chick Fil A gift card
Sm lego set
Sm transformers
4 cars he doesn't have from the Movie
Floam-this might go back though, I'm kinda nervous about it
Sticker book

Wall E DVD
Book from Target dollar spot
Toothbrush
Chick Fil A gift card
Goldfish Crackers
Little People-if I can find just the people or animals, haven't found them yet
Cozy Coupe Die cast cars

As you can see, I'm having a hard time finding things for DS1-all he really wants is what his brother has. And I think after looking at this list I should be done with DS4, I don't think it's all going to fit! :scared1:

Also, I was just at Target and the Christmas section had a whole section of stocking stuffers for a reasonable price. They had small etch e sketch's, small Magnadoodles, a set of 3 christmas weebles, a set of four star wars galactic hero's themed to Christmas, a small pack of Littlest pet shop, candy cane shaped thing of play doh, and ton more really cute things! If you're having trouble, I'd definitely check it out.

I know I am forgetting things because I just recently counted and each DD had 20 items. Traditionally I do a magazine, book, and activity book in every stocking...also toothbrushes and different itmes that I would have to buy them any way (ie soap toothpaste etc..)...always have some type of candy and some type of gum. My favorite places to shop for stockings are Claire's in the 10 for $10 section, Target dollar spot, and Michael's dollar section.

WOW, Your stockings must be HUUUGGGGEEEE!!!!:thumbsup2

Skip the Floam - had lots of friends try it and hate it. I bought Play Foam at an Ed store... It worked much better - although I have to say I'm still not a fan... I think I actually prefer good old PlayDough.

As for the boys... Mine is 7 and he's been all about Legos for several years. If you could find out what the boys might already have it would be helpful, but honestly you could just attach a gift receipt so they could exchange if necessary. The BIG hit with all the boys in K, 1st and 2nd (and I'm not expecting it to end anytime soon) is Star Wars - they are all - all about Star Wars. The good news is there are several smaller sets - smaller is better they come apart - so vastly easier to handle especially at younger ages. Indiana Jones is also really popular as are the City - especially Police, fire and rescue... I'd place them in that order from the boys I've been around these past few years.

Webkinz are a huge hit, but honestly these boys are in a situation that would likely preclude them from PC time... If not, then by all means Webkinz are a big deal. The boys love them as much as the girls and they all collect them like crazy.

Star Wars figurines are big too... Cars depend on the kid - some love them some could care less. I was surprised by that one - I thought all boys loved cars. Most boys always want guns - I've held off for 7 years - finally bought a Nerf target set for DS this year... They're on sale everywhere - should be a fairly inexpensive find. DS games are also huge (Wii too), but again not likely for these boys unless their situation is different than I'm understanding.

My son really wants the Crayola Glow Board - I'm honestly a bit confused by them - the one he wants is the one that switches between a foreground and background - they're around $15.

The other big thing is the new MegaBlocks King Arthur - the figures really move...

I hope this helps and WTG on doing this. I have some Star Wars Legos put back - intend to donate - just need to figure out where - I'd like to "adopt" specific kids and add to it.

Oh and THANK YOU to the person who mentioned getting a Star Wars Tooth Tunes at WDW!! I'm going to head that direction and see if I can find one for DS!! Oh and that would be great for the boys too - the kids love Tooth Tunes and they do help them with brushing longer...

Merry Christmas!

Love the idea of thank you cards--Santa will definitely send those.

DS13 is getting among other toiletries a nail clipper. He says his nails are always too long cause he can never find one.

Also, Mrs. Claus always sends some homemade cookies (that look remarkably like Milano's from Pepperidge Farms). They don't actually go into the stocking. You can find some darling little containers at WalMart that fit about 10 cookies or so.

Oh this thread made me go look at my purchases and I forgot that I had put some things away from the summer time! I might have to get bigger stockings! :goodvibes

DD 6
build a bear outfit
Barbie clothes
Hanna Montana Pens
High School Musical stationary and singing pen kit (Target)
2 magic wash cloths (Disney Summer Sale)
Candy in a High School Musical tin (Target)
Hallmark Christmas Ornament
Lipgloss
Body Lotion
High School Musical 3 CD
New Earphones for her ipod shuffle

I'll add a toothbrush some novelty candy and some earings

DS almost 3
Flashlight (Cars theme)
an OBall
Hallmark Christmas ornament
Starwars Galactic Heroes
2 magic wash cloths
Build-A-Bear outfit
underwear

I'll add a tootbrush, some ovelty candy, and a few other trinkets I've yet to come up with.

Luckily the kids stockings don't have too much space so they usually look stuffed pretty easily. DS6 really wants a slinky and I think Santa might also slip in a Rubik's cube. Otherwise, the traditional toothbrush, candy, fav flavor toothpaste, webkinz or pokemon cards of some sort, GC for BAB thanks to other thread.

Kudos to your troop--that's what the season is all about. You and your troop are making a difference in these people's lives!:goodvibes

This is one of the reasons I love my company. We are a retail company with about 1600 stores and every store sponsers these shelters or another charity of their choice at Christmas and Mother's Day. It's a way to positively impact the community that supports us :goodvibes

Thank you for all the great responses! Here's what I have so far:

Legos
Toothbrushes
toothpaste
matchbox cars
Chick-Fil A GC
socks
pencils
something Star Wars, haha :)

What are Tech Decks?

Thanks everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! :santa:
