kids' spending money

Hi again - another question for you WDW veterans... We leave this Thursday...can't sleep I am so incredibly excited. It's my first time. Anyway, my girls each have been given 75.00 with which to spend as they please on something while we are there. I instantly thought about Bippity Boppity Boutique, but that seems like such a waste to me - 35.00 for hair styling and make up. I realize of course that it's their money to spend, but can any of you recommend something else that they might do or enjoy? They are 4 & 6, by the way. Thanks so much. Karen

We will be leaving 1 week after you. My concern with BBB is that in the heat, all the hairspray may run in their eyes. It does seem cute though. The one thing I can tell you is that you will find no shortage of souvenirs that your children will enjoy. There are great stores like one that has all, well mainly, tinkerbell souvenirs etc... The World of Disney store in DTD also has some great stuff. Have Fun!

I do think that the BBB is a great investment, since you aren't just buying the hair and makeup, you're also buying the Disney experience! But after having said that, it's not particularly a tangible thing, so it's not a keepsake that will last forever. There are so many things your little ones will love there, I'm sure they'll have a blast trying to make up their minds as to what they'd like most. I'd say just let them go with the flow! You will all have fun, and since they'll be in charge of their cash, they'll be happy no matter how they spend it.

I would divide the $75.00 by the number of days you'll be there. Then give them that much each day to spend as they wish.

There will be more the plenty for them to buy. Each time u come off a ride you are in a little shop. My kids go mad at the stores. The pirate store we spent almost 2 hours in there for them to figure out what to spend their money on. When it their own money it will take them longer to pick out what they want. So they don't blow it. KWIM have tons and tons of fun.

We did BBB with my one daughter my older daughter was not into it. Definatley worth the 35.00 and if you would see the picture of my daughters face it was well worth it. The hairspray, glitter did not run in her eyes it was over 90 degrees. If you don't want to do that we spent alot in the Muppet Store and Pirate store. They can make their own crowns, disney my little ponys or Mr. Potato Heads. I am sure they will find lots to buy. My daughter bought a babydoll that is adorbale for 45.00 that is disney and even has mouse ears.
