Kids' Shoe Size Question

DD11 has a wide foot and is a hard fit. We've had good luck with one particular brand. She's currently wearing a youth 6 in that brand. She wants another pair and DH said she can go up a 1/2 size. What is the next size? Would it be 6.5 for womens and 5.5 for mens?

She wants these for Xmas or I'd just take her in to try them on. I'm trying to surprise her.

Go to a shoe store and have her fitted by a salesperson, so you know exactly what size to buy.

I sympathize with you on having a kid whose feet are hard to fit. When I was in 4th grade, I outgrew 11 pairs of shoes over the course of the school year.

As I said in my post, this is an Xmas present. I'm trying not to just take a shot in the dark. I'm also looking online for discounts.

Maybe you could get a picture of the shoes she wants and put them in an envelope. Give her that at Christmas and then afterwards take her to the store to be fitted. I have two kids with tought to fit feet. I really could never pick out shoes they hadn't tried on. Every brand (and sometimes style) seems to have different sizing.

Ask at the store you're getting them from. Or if it's online see if they have a shoe size chart.
