We went when DD was 7. She had ridden all Disney rides except Dinosaur, Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
She tried everything at Universal that she was tall enough for (she was too short for the major coasters) except Terminator. (We were doing a character meet 'n' greet that she wanted to do while the boys went to Terminator.)
The only ride that she HATED was Revenge of the Mummy. This surprised us as she loved Space Mountain, but she said it was WAY too loud.
She didn't freak out of Forbidden Journey, but she didn't want to ride it again. It is pretty intense. (giant spiders, dementors, fire breathing dragon, etc...) There is NO WAY I would make this his first ride or it may be his last.
She also didn't care for Jurassic Park. Again, she didn't freak out, but she didn't like it and wouldn't ride it again. It was the loudness near the end that did her in.
