Day 3....another gorgeous day, low 80's.

Up early again at 6 am. Get everyone up and
fed and we arrive at MGM around 8:30 am.
We're greeted by several CMs for our Aniamation
Magic program in Disney Studios. The kids get to
watch and participate with a Disney artist as he
shows them how to draw animation. He uses characters from "The Emperor's New Groove" for
display.

We can't film here at all because there is current
work in progress all around us. The artist tells
us he's only been working here for a year and he was selected out of a field of 2000 candidates !!
He is very patient and the kids ( and adults) learn alot. We also see a film on how the different parts of animation (background, music,
colors, etc..) are all tied togehter. It takes 24
drawings to create 1 second of film. Which explains why they have over 400 artists here.

We end up the tour at the Backlot Express restaurant and the kids get to make their own
mini storyboards. We grab some lunch there and
then head over and ride the Rock-n-Roll coaster.
You pull 5 G's on the first loop !!! Not bad, after the first 2 loops the ride is pretty tame.

We get some character signings and then break into groups to check out MGM. I'm with my daughter,Emily, her friends and several adult
chaperones and the majority decides to bail
out on MGM and head to the Magic Kingdom.

By the time we get to the MK , the kids
have now decided to head back to the hotel and swim !! I stay at MK, while the group of women
and girls head back to swim. I have about three
hours on my own before they head back.

I get a fast pass for the Haunted Mansion and then make my way back to Tomorrowland. Aladin's
Carpet Ride is under construction in Adventureland and I am anxious to see what that
will look like. (There's also construction going
on in front of Splash Mountain by the waterfront.)

Ride the Pirates Of the Caribbean which is an old favorite. Didn't there use to be cannonball fights between ships or was that Disneyland??

Wander my way over to Tomorrowland and enjoy a brass band playing in front of the Carousel of Progress. They are great and everyone is clapping
and whooping it up. These moments are pure Disney.
I get some great video and it is fun to watch
the crowd as well as the band.

Now my main reason to be in T-land is to ride Space Mountain. I love coasters and this a good one mainly because you travel in the dark of "Space." Then I head back to H.Mansion and use my fast-pass. Why doesn't everyone use these ? I walked right by folks in a 45-minute line. Used
Fastpass 5 times total and it saved about 3-3 1/2
hours of waiting.

I work my way up to the front of the Kingdom and decide to catch a monorail ride. Take the long way around to the Grand Floridian and get off to
check out the place. I love the lobby and sit for awhile and take in the view. The three places I'd like to stay next are the GF, Wilderness Lodge and
the Beach Club. Every time I've come to WDW, I've set aside some time to check out all the different
resorts and their pools.

Meet up with the swimmers at 4:30pm by the railroad station and we're off to the Buzz spin ride and Space Mountain. We also wait 20 minutes for the Grand prix cars that go about 2 miles an hour. If 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea went bye-bye, then this ride can't be too far behind. Oh well, we see Chip-N-Dale signing and posing and we get their autographs and pictures.

Before heading back to Haunted Mansion, we do a
couple of rides in FantasyLand. It is priceless to see the look of the youngsters, our digital
generation, when they see the 60's technology for
the Small World Ride.

Closing time is approaching so we decide to ride
Slash Mountain and then head out. This is another
favorite ride because of the story behind it and it is longer than most of the Disney rides. We stay mostly dry and grab a couple of candy bars
to eat on the way out - we have decided to eat when we get back to All-Kids Sports.

Now this ends up being a big mistake on my part.
One of the kids gets a sugar buzz going and begins to entertain the entire back of the bus on the way back while the driver is trying his comedy act on the front of the bus. Many people
are dead tired and try to ignore both of them.
Our 11-year old is funnier than the driver.

We get back, eat and unwind.

Tomorrow we head to EPCOT.........

The animation magic program sounds interesting. Is it something adults enjoy too? How much was it, if you dont mind me asking? Sounds like you had fun!

You are very brave taking a bunch of kids to Disney although you do have plenty of chaperones. (good planning) Sounds like yall had a great time today.
