When we went on our cruise in 1999, our servers gave us two kids plates for us to take home. They are divided plates with a picture of Goofy dressed like Sherlock Holmes holding a magnifying glass. We still have them and in fact used them the other night. Thing is I watch the Disney Cruise auctions on Ebay all the time and have never seen those plates on there. Were we just lucky or have others been given these plates to take home?

We didn't see anything like this on our 2003 cruise or the one this month. They may have discontinued doing that. :(

They used the same plates on our 04/04/04 wonder cruise....

We cruised in 2002 and didn't see anything like this. In fact, our boys were served on the same plates that we were served... Unfortunately, that sounds like a fantastic souvenier!!

those plates are still used. they have them not for sale but for bidding. it is one of the auction items outside the walt disney theatre. this was on the magic.

They did not use them last month, but there was one on the silent auction table.

Maybe I should put them on Ebay...hmmmmmmmmmm

The kid's meals were brought to the kids this month on white round plates with dividers and a blue trim with the DCL logo around it. We wish that we could have gotten a couple of those!

If you want a plate have your meal to go and tuck the plate in your bag to bring home. Don't tell anyone and after you home let some else find the platein your bags. We take towels so why not plates? :earseek:

My personal thank you for making the cruise so dang expensive.

Sheesh :duck:

i didn't think people still take towels these days...with everyone being so health conscious & germ-free...just the thought of the towels being used on someone else's...ahem...genitals....is enough to make me bring my own.

oh yeah, thanks for making my cruise so expensive too!

My guess is that was a tongue in cheek comment....

In August, my DD7 was served her meals on those plates. This was on the Wonder.

Maybe they use the plates in certain restaurants only. Where did your child get served using those plates? :magnify:

Nope...according to my DD, whose memory is much better than mine, they used the same plates in each of the three restaurants during the 04/04/04 4 day Wonder cruise..

BTW...they used them on our 1999 Magic crusie and on or 04/04/04 Wonder cruise...

For the record, I have never took a plate, cup or fork. DCL was high before I ever started to sail so my guess is that the people before me may have help themselved to a few extra french fries at dinner. My comment was a tongue in cheek but we can see how people really take things as actual fact. For the person that just couldn't see themselves using a towel that some one may have used, they are worse than Monk. :boat:

4Mickey, believe it or not, MY comment was tongue in cheek as well. But please, "a few extra french fries"? You and I both know that theft (like plates and towels) are factored into the cost of the cruise. If people didn't steal, the price would be lower.

Just at it would be at the grocery store, the Macy's, Staples, Rite Aid....you get my drift.

"Hands don't steal, people do...." :cool1:
