kids Pirate cruises

My DD did her first one out of the GF at age 4. She is 11 now, so that would have been 7 years ago. She has never been bored on any of them, but like anything, experiences can vary and much of it is probably based on the CMs you get. Your kids might have gotten either inexperienced CMs, or ones that were having a bad day. :confused3

The last cruise DD did was at age 10 and while she still had fun, she felt she was getting too old for them and hasn't asked to do another.

Thanks for the age info, I think this will describe DD perfectly! She is 9, but loves being the "big kid" so I know that is not a problem. She also loves trying new things, so I can totally see her going, having a blast, but not having to do it again. I appreciate that feedback!

You're welcome! Happy I could help! :goodvibes

How much is it to do one of these cruises? Or can you point me in the direction of the prices please :goodvibes

Wow. I'm surprised to read so many positive reviews. Our kids did a pirate cruise out of the GF about... 6-7 years ago? They were bored out of their skulls and not very happy with us when we picked them up. The whole thing struck me as daycare on a boat.

But, given the positive comments here, maybe the experience has changed over time?

My granddaughter did this when she had just turned five. She's turning sixteen in May so that was a long time ago.

It sounds so awesome... My girls would love it!!! Especially my youngest (she will be 4) but I still can't imagine her on that boat... I really have to think about this though...

If your four year old is on with a sibling, they will automatically be paired up as buddies.

Our oldest did it when he was 4.5 and 6.5 and loved it. Gives him some time to himself and gives us 2 hours to relax. We got a nice breakfast ad walked around both times. I just hope when the baby is 4 the older one will still want to go along.

We did the one at the BC and GF so far.

My DS6 has done the YC cruise twice and the GF cruise once. He LOVED the YC cruise (GF, not so much). He wouldn't tell me much about it, but it sounds like they went to the Canada pavilion and found some treasure then got "caught" on a shore near DHS. Apparently he was "sworn to secrecy", so that's all I could get out of him and I don't know if that's even accurate!

All I know is he had a HUGE smile on his face when they returned to the boat dock!

He was 5 and 6 went he went on the cruises, but, depending on the child, I think a 4 year old would be fine! All the children have life jackets and, I believe, they cap the number of kids at 12. They have 2 Disney CM "pirates" with them at all times.

Do these book quickly? Wondering if we are too late for the week of the 27th.

We go in the off seasons (September and January/February) and sometimes there are only three or four kids on the boat. I'm not sure how it is when it's a more crowded time of year. Call. That's the only way to know for sure. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if we have any chance of making a 9:35am reservation at Captain's Grill, if our kids are doing the Albatross?

I suppose it can. It has a small CM to participants ratio so it can fill up quickly. Plus it doesn't happen every day so sometimes finding one that works in your schedule can be tough. If you're sure you want to do it, call and book it soon.

Unfortunately, some of the info in that link is outdated. I was quoted $39+tax per kid. I wish they would just post the price on the WDW website.

I would not be overly concerned. If you are a few minutes late, I am confident you would be accommodated, especially if sharing the reason with the front desk.

The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage in the Contemporary is great! We really enjoyed it. Everyone gets a bandana and there's a fun scavenger hunt beforehand looking for things in the resort to fill in the answers on your paper. Then there's a meet and greet with Hook and Smee with picture opportunities and lots of treats (like Mickey bars and other ice cream, cake, pretzels, popcorn, etc.) and drinks. Then you separate into 2 boats and go with your captain into Seven Seas Lagoon to view the Electric Water Parade and Wishes. He made it so fun, told lots of great stories, we sang songs, and had a great view of the fireworks. Definitely worth it!
