Kids' passport question - would you get renewed or use BC?

Where we live we have in most malls a “County Store” for passports and other things. They limited Saturday hours until maybe 12 or 1. It’s very convenient.
Our kids are in their 20’s now so maybe now post covid appointments are required.

That’s not a thing where I live, though it sounds convenient! We had to make an appointment and our local office was also running about 2 months out for appointments. It’s a hassle, but we thought it was worth it (we just got all of our passports in the mail and I’m already eyeing when we can use them again after our upcoming June trip ).
