Kids Nite Out - Waitlist or other options

Hi,

I have my name on the wait list for a sitter for and we are number 20-25 so I am not sure if we will get one or not. And we need one as we are both running the 1/2 marathon.

The lady who answered the phone was not very helpful at all in letting me know if they would have anyone or not. She couldn't even tell me if they had a list of people who had already booked and been given a sitter

Can anyone recommend any other place I can try? I don't think we can use one of the resort ones as they close as midnight and DH probably can't finish the race and get there in time. And do you have to be at the resort that you use that service if that is our only option?

Do you mean for Wine and Dine race next month? How old are the kids? Yes, getting back by midnight would be a challenge.

I see a few people a number of years ago used Fairy Godmothers. They are still in business I have confirmed. Has anyone used them recently that can provide feedback as there are no reviews on them that I found. And if you have used them, was there anyone in particular you used or would recommend?

Do you mean for Wine and Dine race next month? How old are the kids? Yes, getting back by midnight would be a challenge.

Yes, for the Wine&Dine. The girls are almost 5 and almost 7. DH should be finished in time as he is a good runner and will be in the first corral and will finish in around 1:30 but would like to not have to rush over to them and also be there to see me crawl across the finish line much later - lol!

If you are interestd, I used a vacation sitter for the first time (after a horrible experience with Kids nite out, but that is for another time) in August. She has her own little business, and I actually hired her because I was solo with my 2 year old at Universal and wanted to ride some of the bigger rides. She met up with us at 6:30AM and came to the park with us for a few hours. She has her own annual passes and charged $15/hour. She was wonderful and I would 100% hire her again if I needed someone to watch my DD in or out of the parks. I found out about her via someone on the Universal forums on the DIS, so happy to pass along her info if you are interested.

Yes, I am interested. I was going to call Fairy Godmothers tonight as well to see if they have availability. But I will take her info if you don't mind passing it along via PM. If you can provide other details about her that would also be helpful (police check, CPR certified, etc.).

I had the same problem so I have made a reservation with Fairy Godmothers and I'm on the wait list for KNO but I am a little nervous. I have a 5 year old daughter and I don't like the idea of her alone with the sitter. Would you be interested in sharing a sitter from Fairy Godmothers or Kids Nite Out?
