Kids' menus

Just curious how strict the restaurants are on the 9 years and younger age for the kid meals? I will have two kids over the official age limit who can be picky eaters and may just prefer the standard kid fare. Are they allowed to order off that menu at a table service restaurant? I may not do the dining plan, so wondering if this was an option.

In most cases, yes anyone can order off the kids menu. I have heard of some places where the server wouldn't allow it, but I think in those cases it was adults ordering off the kids menu not "over 9" kids.

We just got back and had no problems at all. My 10 year old ordered off the kids menu almost every time. They DID let her get the adult drink and the adult dessert thought. My 12 year old ordered the child's pasta at Akershus in Epcot/Norrway and they just gave her a larger portion size.

They were much more flexible then I thought.

Don't even worry about it. I'm 20, and I still order off the children's menu occasionally, because I too am a horrendously picky eater. Seriously, I ordered off the kids menu at California Grill because I'm so picky. Best Mac and Cheese ever...

They always let my sister order off the kiddie menu! So I think it would be okay

1) No problem.
2) In fact, the LOVE it !
3) They make a Little more than 4-times the net profit !
4) And, of course, it is a terribe waste of money for the guest.

i have ordered off the kids menu for myself at several different counter service places, i am not a big eater so ordering a larger portion seems like a waste. I have even order the kids breakfasts at ASSP.

We saw two adults with no children order off the kids menu at Teppan Edu. No issues at all. They do pay attention if you are going to a buffet. Last year they asked my daughter how old she was at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Garden Grill. She is 10 and was charged as an adult.
