kids menus question

We are traveling with another family whose 3 yr old is on a "won't eat anything but chicken nuggets" kick. Looking at some of the menus of the restaurants we are going to some of them don't have this option.

Are they readily available or whatever is on the kids menu is what they have no exceptions. I never had this problem with my children at that age so I am not sure how flexible the restaurants are

Thanks for any insight

I think every restaurant is different, but they are trying to do this health conscious menu for children hence the doing away with some of the greasy fried things that children like....so I guess what I would say is either call Disney Dining and ask that question specifically and also when you are seated ask if there are other options to the children's menu choices....

Hopefully some with more experience will post here and tell you how they fared..

I found that my kids were so hungry when we ate at Disney, from all the activities, that they pretty much inhaled anything we put in front of them. But some kids, even when famished, will still be contrary. Disney has a wide selection of meals, even for kids, in each park. Do your homework before you leave and when you are in the park you will know where to go.

I appreciate your response - this is for a family we are traveling with and since we are going in 3 weeks our ADR's are all made. The chicken nugget phase is a recent development and we are trying to figure out what is acceptable at the restaurants or feed the 3yr old before we actually go to the restaurant. As I mentioned my kids always had whatever was available on the menu at whatever restaurant we ended up at.

Already called Dining and they could only read what was on the menu off to me - thanks for the suggestion

By the time you get to Disney the 3 yr. old may have moved on from the chicken nuggets only phase. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If he/she is hungry, they'll eat what's available, especially if the parents don't make a fuss about it.

Even if there aren't any chicken nuggets available, there are always a few side dishes that might be available to get a la carte (fries, grapes, applesauce, strawberries, plain pasta noodles, bread, rice, cheese, etc.). That is, if the kiddo will try anything else besides nuggets!;) Not exactly a balanced meal, but hopefully they can scare up something for the little guy/gal.

at the restaurant if they have other options not listed. From my experience they usually have some back up items for picky kids.

Well since you tried calling DD....shame on them that they could not answer the question as to whether there are other options for children who do not like their choices.....

I also said this: ask that question specifically and also when you are seated ask if there are other options to the children's menu choices.... which the previous poster seemed to agree with..

Good luck!!!
