Hello :) we've used the DDP in the past, but are pretty much planning on going OOP this trip because at 11 & 12 yo this year, 2 of our 3 kiddos are now considered 'adults' by Disney dining and just won't eat THAT much food.

So what I am really wondering is how particular the servers at non-buffet style restaurants are about ordering kids menu items if you are older than 9 and NOT on the dining plan. I know ON the plan there are strict guidelines, I am just hoping that my 11&12 year old will be able to select menu items that they will actually enjoy eating as at our non-buffet ADRs (BOG, MamaMelrose, Via Napoli and Kona) Because after reviewing the menus, I know that would be their preference. Will they be allowed to do this? Hoping so .... I want them to be able to ENJOY their meals at the restaurants that THEY have selected.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!! :)

If not on DDP, even adults can order off of a kids menu.

I've only heard one story of someone not being able to order off whichever menu they want when paying OOP.

So good to hear ... The 'for guests 9 and under' had me worried ... And never much thought about it when the kids actually WERE 9 and under.

:)

My son was 11 last summer and had no trouble ordering off the kids menu, and will probably do the same this summer.
