Kid's meals for adults?

We're visiting WDW in December. I'd like to go to the character meal at Artist's Point in Wilderness Lodge. I'm afraid the menu will be too exotic for my 13 autistic son. If we are paying out of pocket (no dining plan) could he order from the kid's menu and get an adult portion?

I don't believe that will be a problem (of course you will pay an adult meal price) IF Artist Point is open. Have you heard it will be open?

No. I'm just hopeful. It's been hard to plan this trip with so many things closed but by the time we go things may be (hopefully?) opening?

It should be fine. I've been able to do this for my husband who's a picky eater. They do charge the adult price though.

if reopens you will most likely be able to order but you will still be paying the adult price. they may bring an adult meal of what he orders. before covid we were able to do this at some places even with dining plan

Oh yeah, I expect to pay the adult price. He definitely has an adult appetite. Just difficult to get him to expand his palette.
