Kids meals and our recent trip

Well, I had read all of the posts regarding kids meals and was prepared to just request something other than sf jello and move on...what we found was that at EVERY counter service we went to (cosmic rays, france in epcot, cs at POR, earl of sandwich) we were specifically told to get the kids what they wanted whether it was on the kids menu or not. We were told by numerous CM's that CS credits are pooled, so not to worry about whether it was technically a kids meal. At table services (ohana, wcc, boatwrights, akehrus, concourse,) the waiters would offer to "switch around the ears of the meal" to whatever the kids wanted. At 50's PT when I asked the waiter he said no we can't do that and I said well every other restuarant has, and he said well let me check on it. A chef was walking past and he stopped and asked him, and the chef said feed the kids whatever they want. The waiter then went on to explain that they had been told that the preplated options had to stay as is unless they got permission from the chef. The choices did get a little redundant, but the kids really were pretty pleased. The reality is, that if we went out to eat 7 nights in a row at home at 7 different restuarants the kids would be faced with alot of the same choices over and over again...thats just the nature of "kids menus"

Anyhow, we had a great trip...and no gripes over the DDP

Thanks for the update, I was a little bit concerned about the kids options for our picky DD because we have the DDP for our trip this summer.

Wonderful to know and thanks so much for posting this. I'm glad your trip was a great one! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. One night we are going to have the kids go to the Neverland Club, so it's nice to know we can use their credits.

 The last time We went as a family, I slaved day and night to make dining choses that provided us with a variety and wouldn't you know it my son ordered chicken and French fries at every counter and sit down:scared1: ...imagine my surprise when we went to HDDR and he asked the waiter to bring him some French fries and he did. We ate at CRT and they told him that they don't serve fries in the castle and gave him chicken and fruit. I carried that chicken in a ziploc bag for 2 hours before it became clear to me that he was not going to bend and eat. This year he is older and willing to try a few different things, but somehow I have the feeling it will be a chicken and fries summer. I don't even want to think about the jello. I had to carry chocolate cake around until I figured out to order cookies or rice crisp snacks. He doesn't eat any pie, cake, ice cream or chocolate.:scared:
