Kids Marathon?

Anyone know anything about Mickey's Marathon Kids' Fest on 1/9 and 1/10? I was thinking about letting my 8 yo do it. Would we all have to pay admission to the Sports Complex? (Assuming we don't have the waterpark fun & more add-on.)

I know you have to register for this very early like in March---I think it is full, but I know they have some sort of a fun run--not sure how far it is.

I went ahead and registered him. He is 8 so it is 400 meters--very doable. Website says they are 95% full for the kids races. The Kids' Mile is totally full.

I think he will have a good time. Apparently spectators pay $12 to enter the sports complex, but we are leaning toward adding on waterpark fun & more anyway, so we'll see.

The kids get a t-shirt, goodie bag and medal, so I think the $10 registration fee was worth it.

I don't think you have to pay the spectators fee for this. I believe that it is for the tournaments they have there, not for this. These races will be out back in the fields and they will be letting the runners in for free to get their registration stuff and could just walk back there on there own anyways.

Thanks very much. This does make a difference because we were just going to have one of us take him and the other parent stay with his 2 older brothers in the park. Good to know it won't cost us $60 just to watch him race for 2 minutes!
