kids' jeans that last?

Another fan of Sears. Love, love, love that place. I have lost count of how many free pairs of jeans and sneakers we've gotten out of the kidvantage guarantee.

I have boys, but we do Gap jeans too. They like the hook - not buttons or snaps at the waist.

We haven't worn out a pair yet! We've worn out plenty of Target and Old Navy jeans in the past.

I don't buy the expensive ones - the regular price ranges from 19.50 to 39.50. I always get the $19.50 ones and always go one the buy-one-get-one at 50% off and then add a 20% off coupon. Also if you buy 5 pair (I can't remember -it may be 6 pair), you also get one free. (This pair I get the expensive one!)

HTH

Also, I forgot about Sears KidAdvantage program! Thanks! (Although our Sears has virtually zero selection and never the right size that I need. Once we did get khakis there and they held up very well.)

Old Navy has held up pretty well for us. My 8 yr old has 3 pairs of my 12 yr old's outgrown jeans and they've gotten frayed around the bottoms a bit and he just busted a knee on one, but that's pretty good considering he's the second owner! He also has a pair of Tony Hawk jeans from Kohl's and I just bought him a pair of Lee recently - both have washed and worn well.

My 12 yr old only has Tony Hawk jeans that he's been wearing since September and they've all held up well. Almost everything he wears is TH and it's all held up well.

When my 14 yr old was little, we did the Toughskins from Sears. They always held up well. He also had a really nice flannel lined (toddler sized) pair from the Gap that were passed down to all 3 of his younger brothers that held up wonderfully.

My issue is trying to find jeans to fit my 3 1/2 yr old. He's 41" and 48lbs. He's barrel chested like his Daddy and pretty thick around the middle. I can't wait til the warm weather so he can wear shorts again ~ so much easier to fit and no worries about the length!

I love Toughskins at Sears! I've exchanged 3 pairs this school year after my sons put holes in the knees. Absolutely no questions asked, no receipt needed, and brand new jeans! The ones I got were cute, too, not the super basic ones and on sale about $12.

There is a 15% off friends and family event through tomorrow morning on Sears.com, I was just going to go look for a couple more pairs!

By the way, is Canyon River a Sears-only brand, too? I know they will honor all the brands they sell, but if it isn't exclusively theirs, you need the receipt. I don't want to bother with that!

My DD's really prefer either Justice or PS Aero. Circo always rips right away. They don't like Gap or ON, not sure why. Justice jeans tend to be stylish. I usually shop the sales rack plus they always have 40% off coupons. I pay about $15 for most jeans but sometimes less. I always hand our jeans down so I see them go through 3 to 4 kids at a minimum.

Another vote for Sears...the Toughskins brand are the only thing that holds up for my DS7...also I like that you can get them in "Slim" and he is, as my dad used to say, a "skinny rinky-dink." :lmao:

I've been buying DD jeans at JCP and Sears as we have landed some great sales lately. The Arizona brand jeans have embellishments and have held up a lot better than Old Navy's. As a PP mentioned, the problem that we have had recently with ON jeans is how low cut they are.

I like the OshKosh jeans for my 5 year old DS. I am going to look into that Sears program, too! Do they happen to carry OshKosh at Sears?

Oshkosh B'Gosh!! I have never had any problems with them wearing out in the knees on either of my kids.

I shop at the outlet and stock up when they are $10 a pair (like the girls are right now). :)

I get them from Old Navy for 2 of my kids, I go to the outlet or watch for clearance so they aren't as expensive. Ends up cheaper than walmart!

For my other child I go to jcpenney. She doesn't fit right in ON jeans. I've found quality is down everywhere though. It used to be ON jeans would last through a few kids and now they seem to last the full school year but end up with a hole or two towards the end of the year.

I agree with the posters who recommended Lands End or Gap. Lands End has been having really good sales this year (last week I ordered 4 pairs of jeans for dd at 8 a pair and free shipping). I usually only buy Gap at their outlets, but their clothes hold up really well!

One brand that I would stay away from are Crazy 8s. I ordered several pair this year for my ds and I hate them!! Every time I dry them they end up wrinkled and they feel like they are made of cheap material.

I find old navy jeans are very thin and my DS tore through them in a blink of an eye. I have gone through all brands and the best ones that have lasted are the LEE with knee reinforcement. I love those. Plus they are heavier in weight so keeps the munchkin warmer.

By the way, is Canyon River a Sears-only brand, too?

Yes, Canyon River Blues is a sears only brand. I don't like to bother with receipts either.

Funny, they never ask me for receipts when I exchange sneakers, just clothes.

Steer away from The Children's Place. We've had nothing but problems with their jeans/pants for awhile now. They used to last but lately the knees have been going in as little as a couple of weeks. Not very happy about that!

Omg, I thought it was only my son. I bought him 4 pairs of jeans a month and a half ago, and they have holes in the knees. I bought him some from walmart, and them to get holes real quick.

Childrens Place! They're thicker material and they have the adjustable waist for my bean-pole children. I love the fact that they can "let it out" after a meal when they get a little buddha belly going on :rotfl:

I get my boys jeans from Old Navy. They are both very hard on jeans but they usually don't wear out the knees until they are almost grown out of them.

DD10 is hard on clothes, and Gymboree has stood up against her very well. Once you get in with Gymbucks and get on a mailing list, you can buy their stuff for no more than what you'd pay at JcPenny. DD thinks their stuff is babyish now..I miss that store. :sad1:

Old Navy jeans have held up pretty well for her as well.
