Kids in the Outlook Cafe?

Going on an Alaskan cruise on the Wonder next month. I heard the best place to view the sights of the Tracy Arm is in the Outlook Café. Lots of windows and warm in there is what I have heard.

Can kids go in the Outlook Café during the day, or is it exclusively for adults? Is there another inside place that kids can get a good view of the Tracy Arm.

Thanks!

I think Outlook Cafe is adults only. I never saw any kids up there.

Tracys Arm is about a 6 hour event. The ship goes into the glacier area, turns around and sails back out. Anywhere on the ship has a good view. There will be blankets out on deck if it gets cold.

I know they allow kids in there for consierge events, if the child is a consierge passenger, but other than that I never saw children in there.

I was on the May 30 sailing and it was not too cold on the deck. I walked around almost the whole time and I think that it what kept me warm enough. I heard from others who were viewing from their verendahs that they were cold and miserable. I think sitting and watching is what makes people cold.

There are plenty of windows inside the ship on the main decks. The front of the ship on deck 10 has a wind block, although it will be hard to see because there will be so many people on the other side of the wind block taking pictures. Secret Deck 7 basically has wind block on 3 sides.

Outlook is adults only and depending on the weather may not have the best view anyway. Plus even if it is clear, you will have people walking in front of the windows and standing along the outside railing.

It was raining on the day we went so the inside places and deck 9 didn't help much as the rain running down the windows obscured the view. So on rainy days, the public viewing may be best on Deck 4. We went back and forth between deck 10 (in our rain gear) and our verandah since we could see clearly and the overhang from deck 9 covered us from the rain.

If it is clear, you may prefer moving around deck 10 and deck 4 to see all the different views and find the characters, etc.

Just adding for the benefit of anyone who might be reading this for future-cruise research, the Outlook on the Wonder is now a concierge-only area.

Unless this changed from the first Alaska cruise of the season, only half of it is. The other half is still an adults only area.

Yes, it is currently being redesigned and will be 100% concierge next Alaska season.

I've not been on the wonder - is this the coffee shop? They are taking away the adult only coffee shop to make it a concierge space? Or am I missing something? We are doing Alaska on the Wonder next summer.

No. The Cove Cafe is on the same deck as the Quiet Cove pool. The Outlook Cafe/Concierge Lounge are on the deck above:

On the right (the small pane window area) the lower two rows are into the Cove Cafe, the upper 3 are the Outlook Cafe. Port side was for everyone. The big windows on the left are the Concierge Lounge. The windows in the center were the entry area into that whole space.
This is what the entry space used to look like(big windows on left in this picture):

This picture was of the starboard side of Outlook before they made it the Concierge Lounge. The port side was a mirror of it.

Just an FYI this is what the interior of the Cove Cafe (port side pool deck) used to look like. Don't know if it still does:

I have to wonder, also, in the thread that got this information started, the poster complaining about the noise said:

I don't know what they are doing, but the area on the opposite side of the pool from signals is all covered in a giant white and yellow tarp. And there is drilling and metal cutting noises behind it all day. I've been avoiding the area because it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Seems to be referring to the area where the elevator lobbies are. Not the area where Outlook is.

Ugh. We took my parents on a southern cruise in the 2 bed suite and since then my dad has been a pita about wanting to go concierge again. Given the cost for Alaska we (mom and I) convinced him to "settle" for a regular veranda room. And now I have to walk him onto this ship and there is no way not to notice this GIANT space that's only for concierge. Thanks a lot, DCL.

Why could they not have done something less obnoxious? I don't even know where the concierge areas ARE on the Fantasy. Because they're presumably not smack in the middle of everything. But this is just rude.
