Is anyone else sad that their kids are going back to school tomorrow? I really am. It was a nice break from routine to have them home and spend time with them. I will miss them. I really love when they are on a break from school.:goodvibes

Our district went back on Tuesday. I am already looking forward to mid winter break in Feb!

Ours too. What a break your kids got, OP!

I can't wait to have DD home with me in February. Besides the fact that we're heading to WDW!!

We went back on Thursday.:thumbsup2

Days off are few and far between till Spring Break.:rolleyes1
Jan 15th for MLK.
NO FEB days off....
March is spring break 19-23.
April surprisingly we get off Good Fri & day after Easter Sunday.
Then NONE until it is done.

Only 8 days off and 90 days of school left.:scared1:
But who is counting...:lmao:

I have been sick and stuck inside with them for three days. My husband is out of town and we are all stir-crazy. Tomorrow cannot come fast enough.

My kids still have tomorrow off for a teachers work day... and I am darn ready for them to get back to school! They had Dec 21st-Jan 8th off.

My kids went back last Thursday. They will get MLK day off then a couple 1/2 days the end of January THEN a week off in February for winter break.

This year I had DD18 home from December 13 until January 3, and DD13 home from December 15 until January 3. It was just the right amount of time. DD18 went back to college last Wednesday, and left yesterday for three weeks in Japan!!!! I was a little bit of a nervous nelly but she called this morning and the plane landed safely, so now I'm just excited for her.

DD13 went back Wednesday, and I was glad. She had a lot of hanging around the house time, but it's good for her to be back in her routine, and she really is enjoying some of the 7th grade things they are doing, especially with sports and the school play to look forward to. So although some years I have wished we could just stay home all year, this one was not like that, and I'm glad "Part 2" (the second semester) has started. I do think when your kids are smaller and you don't have trips or extra curricular special things to look forward to, it makes a difference in wanting them to start back or wishing they could be with you a little longer.

We get January 15th for MLK, February 16 and 19 for President's Day, and March 31 - April 8 for Sprink Break. We'll do something fairly local but away from home for the two long weekends, and we are going to WDW for Spring Break - I called this week and was able to get reservations at the Wilderness Lodge and all our ADRs, even a Princess breakfast!!! DD13 and I will also go to welcome DD18 home from her trip three weekends from now.

Hope everyone had a great break and has a pleasant re-entry into the school routine!!!!

My kids got off the 22nd so that is why they are going back tomorrow. MLK's birthday is off and then the usual President's day. We don't get a winter break. Spring break in March and then Easter weekend. I need to count down until the end of school too! I really love them home and having a "loose" schedule.

My kids go back on Tuesday, and they've been off since Dec 14th, but I'm still not ready for the school routine! I just hate the school drop-offs and pick-ups, the endless preparation the night before, the lunches to pack .... I am SO not ready! It's easy having them home. We have Jan 22 off, then nothing until half term, which will be 1 day in late February. Term ends April 5 and doesn't go back until May 3!!!!! You can bet we're off to WDW during that time - April 20 - May 4!

That's true for me, too, but it's all part of the "must get through middle school" mentality I have, so I didn't count it as a Christmas break thing!!! I am counting the days until I don't have to pack a lunch anymore - DD will have to have one until she finishes 8th grade. In 9th grade, though, she's on her own at school every day - no more lunch packing for me!!! I hate it so much I would rather do any other household chore than have to deal with heating up another can of chicken noodle soup and pouring it in a thermos. Aaarrggghhh!

I have 3 more years until DD13 will have a license and can drive herself to school - a year and a half of middle school, then a year and a half of high school. Second semester sophmore year is my Day of Freedom from carpool. I am planning a major celebration!!!!

We don't get off for MLK day, but we are off on Jan. 22 for a teacher work day. We have the week of Presidents' Day off and DH and I head down to SSR on Tues (Feb 20) - Saturday.

My ds went back last Wednesday, and he was thrilled! I miss having him around tho (he's in kindergarten).

We've been back at school since Jan. 2nd.

All of you DISers that get a Feb. break are really making me sad. :sad1:
Our next break is Easter....and we only get off that Thurs. Fri., & Monday.
