Kids fly safe FAA approved

Anyone ever buy CARES from kidsflysafe.com? It looks like something that would be really helpful on flights. If you did buy it, did you have a promotional code!

I didn't purchase one. But I did rent one off of eBay. It was extremely helpful on the flight and easy to set up!

We have used them for the last three years for our kids, now 3 and 4. They work great for us and we have had no problems.

If you do a search for CARES harness you will find several threads on the CARES Harness. I think it is the best invention ever and will never haul a car seat again.

We have one, and have used it for all our trips with our daughter. We like it a lot.

what age is it good for? We took DD this past year when she was 15 months and we brought her car seat since we were renting a car - but we plan to go next year and I was looking at this - we will have a 12 month old and our older daughter will be just about to turn 3. Is it good for both? Or only the younger one?

we're getting one for our upcoming trip so while i can't speak from experience, i can share what i've read/heard about it.

1. it's a thousand times easier than lugging the carseat through the airport, etc.

2. there is no center strap between the legs so it is possible your child could try to wiggle out that way. most parents say it mimics the carseat enough that the kids are comfortable and don't even try though. others recommend using some sort of no slip material on the seat to prevent your child from sliding out.

3. some rumors of flight attendants who are unfamiliar with it and may give you a hard time regarding using it. bring documentation proving it is faa approved and you should be all set.

4. practice installation in advance - apparently while not complicated can be tricky on the 1st try - especially while under pressure.

5. i believe it's good for over 1 year and up to 40 lbs but i won't swear to that.

6. have not heard of any promotional codes but i did see it online at babiesrus.com and hope to use a coupon to get a discount when we do buy ours.

I've been hoping to catch one of these on sale b4 our disney trip. Well, today I did just that. I got it for $28. They had it 50% off plus an additional 25% after that because of the big sale the PX was having. It came at a great time...I'm traveling home w/ 2 kids by myself by plane and I'm afraid my oldest would want to run off down the aisles...now its less likely!!!
