Day 3 - June 3rd
Today was the day my DD had been waiting for. We were having breakfast at Cinderellas castle with the princesses. The front desk at the Wilderness Lodge told me to make sure I took the bus marked Character Breakfast that started running about 7:30 a.m. Well, needless to say that was (and is) incorrect. Wilderness Lodge guests must take the bus to the TTC and transfer to the monorail. Luckily, I asked one of the first few drivers that came by, and we arrived in plenty of time. However, my brother-in-law, his wife and two kids were meeting us for our breakfast and traveling from Fort Wilderness. They didnt arrive in time for the PS, and we had decided to eat without them when the cast member at the check-in desk for CRT told me that she had received a call from a transportation CM to please hold their table for them. It seems Fort Wilderness had offered to drive them over to Magic Kingdom but NEVER SHOWED UP! They were nearly an hour late for the PS, but I had alerted all the CMs along the way, and the rest of the transportation CMs took care of them as well. Everything worked out in the end and all the kids and adults were happy.
Now, let me just say this about Cinderellas breakfast: If you have young girls, it is worth all the hassle to get the PS! My DD, the 3yo that talks constantly, was utterly speechless during breakfast!!! My DS enjoyed it, but would end up liking Chef Mickey better. The food is really good. I had the standard resort breakfast with the stuffed French toast etc., and my DW had the healthy choice with granola, yogurt, and fruit. Both were excellent. The kids ate well too, but that wasnt their main interest! LOL At our breakfast were Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, and Jasmine. Fairy Godmother was downstairs, and she is excellent. IMO, the best princesses with the kids (interaction, etc) were Belle and Jasmine. Jasmine was really teasing my DS about not wanting to give her a hug!
Anyway, after breakfast we acted as tour guide for my niece, nephew and family, taking them to Toontown first. We again spent a fair amount of time with characters, since that something my kids really love. Next up was Splash Mtn for all interested parties, with one stop at the Carousel on the way. (Fastpass of course for Spash, and Aladdin & POC while we waited) Of course my two daredevils were in, as well as my DW, SIL, and niece. The BIL and nephew are chickens!!! My little ones LOVED this ride. My little girl kept asking mommy (after the drop), When are we going down that big hill we saw? She squealed with delight when we told her she already did it! The park was getting really packed by now (it WAS a Monday after all), so we left for the Lodge and all had lunch at Roaring Forks. We decided to meet at Epcot for dinner and Illuminations. I ran up to the room and called for a PS at Biergarten without any problems. The four of us decided to relax in the pool for a bit and rest before heading over.
We arrived at Epcot in time to see the end of Tapestry of Dreams parade before our 6:30 PS at Biergarten. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The band that plays every hour was really great, and the girls all went down to do the chicken dance. DD ended the meal on a sour note, as she was giggling with her 7 year-old cousin and got choked on a piece of ice. Needless to say she tossed her brats, but she did get a new t-shirt out of the deal!! Those girls always find an excuse to shop! We found a spot on the balcony at the Japanese pavilion to watch Illuminations before calling it a night. My DS was not very fond of Illuminations, as he dislikes loud noises, and these fireworks are LOUD. He liked the show itself, just not the volume of it.
We agreed that tomorrow we would do Future World in the morning as separate families and meet for lunch before hitting World Showcase for the afternoon.
Oh, I almost forgot. There was a very nice CM supervisor (he looked like upper management to me) that stopped me from taking a picture of the wife and kids. He told me to focus etc. and get in the picture! You didnt come all the way here to only have pictures of your wife and kids! He made sure to tell me to grab ANY CM whenever I wanted a picture of all of us, and thanked us for visited Disney World. I sure wish I had gotten his name.
