What is your kids favorite meal, besides the usually staples like pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc. My kids are picky eaters and I was looking for some new ideas.

TIA

Not the healthiest choice but they love taco meat served in different ways (burrito style, quesadia style or with nachos and cheese). The also love chili and spaghetti, it is a sin to live in the area and not like Skyline Chili;) They also like the turkey dinner (banquet). They will eat grilled chicken and baked turkey. Mac n'cheese and cheesy mashed potatoes are a weekly thing. My youngest loves roast. They love to snack on grapes, hard salami and cheese. With DH working in the evenings it is difficult to make a big meal for just the girls and I, they just don't eat enough. I usually make a big meal once or twice a week and then use the leftovers throughout the week to go with other things.

Some of my DS's favorites are:

chicken quesadilla's (sp?), grilled chicken, roast, steak, baked potatoes, peanut butter & banana sandwiches, spaghetti with meatballs or meatsauce

For snacks he likes (besides candy/junk food):

apples w/peanut butter
celery w/peanut butter
saltines
graham crackers

He is very fussy so it's hard to come up with different meal ideas! He really doesn't like "casserole" type dishes or many veggies so sometimes it's really hard to fix a healthy meal around here too!

One picky and one not picky girl. They have always liked kielbasa fried in small rounds, brown on the outside. Sloppy Joes, breakfast for dinner, a baked potato with all the fixings, lasagna, chicken teriyaki and all the other kid friendly junk.

My daughter LOVES Taco Mac

Brown a pound of ground beef and drain well...

Prepare a package of Velveeta Shells and Cheese according to the directions on the box

Combine the cooked beef, prepared shells and cheese with a jar of Taco Bell taco sauce.

Tacos are a favorite around here. Plus DD loves chicken parmegan (sp).

Brown chicken on stove top, add spag. sause cook for a few more minutes so the chick in done and then add mozz cheese and melt. Yummy. One DS does not like melted cheese (go figure) so I take his chicken out before adding cheese.

have the kids assemble their own tacos. lay out hard and soft shell tacos, refried beans (they come in low fat and no-fat), cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, olives, etc. if you want you can have taco meat, but my kids never liked that. sloopy joes made with pulled pork are good too (but i never make it), paninis (just ham and cheese melted or grilled), broccoli and cheese soup, and homemade mac and chees ( not the nasty prepackaged junk from the store). i never give my kids chips, or little debbie snack cakes, or twinkies, and they don't like eating it now. they love apples and peanut butter, or smoothies made with milk, or occasionally cheeze its or a slice of cinnamon raisin bread or an oatmeal or choclate chip or peanut butter cookie. they also like a frosted banana bread i make for dessert.

I remember when I was a kid, one of our favorite dishes was Campbell's Chunky Beef Stew over white rice. :)

TOV

My kids love waffles for dinner. I usually try to mash some fresh fruit into some margarine and let them spread it on themselves.

My oldest son likes "teetsa pizza"--translation= tortilla pizza. I just use a soft flour tortilla and spread 1 TBSP warm pizza sauce on it and let them top their own.

I also like to use cooked cubed chicken and serve it with several dipping sauces.

Hmmm...after rereading this, I'm wondering if my kids are just into the control thing.
