Both my husband and I love Tower of Terror, our kids do not. They will be 10 and 13 on our trip. Can we do a “rider swap”, where they would be able to wait with a cast member while we ride? Or would we have to ride separately. They are fine going through the line and I’m not sure if I’m comfortable leaving them to wait for us outside of the line.

They can all go in the line with you but maybe at the end of the line - there may be and exit area for people who are scared to ride. They might be able to wait there. (In the exit area?)

My son went on the ride he had turned 3. He kinda liked it but warns everyone about the ghosts that are in there.

I know I dont know your kids, but my oldest 2 are 9 and 11 and have no problem waiting at a designated spot or exiting the line of a ride (every ride has a way to exit before you get on) and waiting in the gift shop. Typically they go through the line with us so they're seperated for us for a minimal amount of time. Leave them with a phone jic.

At that age they are considered old enough to ride alone by Disney so you would not be issued a rider swap pass.

If they are not comfortable getting a snack and waiting on a bench nearby then you will have to each ride separately. There is a chicken exit that takes you to the gift shop so if they are ok with the rest of the line and preshow you would all be together until the boarding. You could go into the gift shop before getting in line to see if they are comfortable waiting there and then find a definite meeting spot. They will be loaded into a "regular elevator" if they choose the chicken exit so you may want to warn them about that!

I'd try to get fourth FPs for you and DH to ride after you use your first 3. Then you can take turns waiting with the kids nearby (grab an ice cream, check out shops) and swap places, but it will take much less time because you are riding FP rather than standby.

at that age let them do another attraction while you do tower. Or make them ride it....theyll love it. sometimes they just gotta be made to experience things.

Either take them with you through the line and they can use the chicken exit right before you board (taking a regular elevator down to the gift shop) or just have them wait in the gift shop or somewhere else nearby. Just note, if you plan on having them use the chicken exit and you are using FP, they will need FP as well to enter the line (even if they are not riding).

Based on the ages of the children in your signature looks like you've a few years before your next trip happens so there is a good chance they will have outgrown their dislike of ToT by the time they become tween and teen. Don't sweat the small stuff yet and remember they are constantly growing physically and mentally:).

There are benches in the area where you scan for the ride photo. Ask a CM to take them out via chicken exit and they can wait there. Also be warned, the chicken exit is an elevator LOL

My kids won't go on it. I give them a bye on a ride if it's scary to them. I've been on it, and tried to explain it to them to let them know what it's like, but they still are too scared to go on.

Have them go thru the gift shop, and back to where the ride pictures show. Always a CM in the area, and a great place to wait. I've waited there many times when I haven't been in the mood to ride.

Thank you for the replies. I’m thinking we might have them chicken exit, I just know it’s a very crowded time of year and I don’t want to worry while we are in line and on the ride. I haven’t updated my signature in awhile, we are going in November, they have ridden Tower of Terror before, It wasn’t too scary they just hated the drop, our ride video is actually hilarious my husband and I laughing, and the kids look terrified. 😂

Yep. 13 is plenty old enough to kinda do their own thing.
Everyone has different levels of comfort. While I would leave my oldest here at home and have even dropped her off at the county fair with friends, I’m not comfortable with a crowded Disney world. I trust her just not other people and she is very small and looks young for her age.

Are you Fast Passing it? Just making sure you know the standby has been very long for a while, as one side is down for maintenance. I know you would rather have your kids with you, but it would be pretty miserable to wait in a 90 minute ride line and not ride.

I’m not sure yet, we will probably pick it up after our first three are used. We have more than one day at Hollywood Studios planned and we are not stand-by line people so we would probably skip it over standing in line.
