I so far behind in uploading pics, it's not funny. These are a few of the things I made the girls for Christmas.

DD4 wanted a canopy & since her bed isn't actually made for a canopy I made one with an embroidery hoop.
2007_01290080.jpg

Her doll bed/high chair/carseat set got recalled & it had a sleeping bag with it & the new one got to replace it didn't. Of course, this lead to the constant chorus of 'My babies NEED a sleeping bag'. Fine Mommy to the rescue. ;)

2007_01290081.jpg

Since she insists on wearing her summer pjs all winter too ('but they're PRINCESS pjs!') I made her a robe to wear while it's cold.

2007_01290082.jpg

I still feel like dd1 got a bit short-changed this year, but she didn't seem to notice. I made her a sock monkey (they're a bit of thing around our house & she didn't have one yet) dressed like Ariel. Yes, she does have legs & a tail under that fin. I decided I'd better make the fin removable so that when she decides that Ariel needs a dress there are legs to go under it. :lmao:

2007_01290084.jpg

I think this is my favorite of the things I made. I got the fabric to make my older dd a coat, but she got like 4 for her birthday :confused3 so obviously she didn't need it. DD1 actually needed a nice winter coat so there we go.

2007_01290086.jpg

OH MY GOSH! Where do I start? I LOVE the canopy you made! I've had one from Ikea sitting around for like 5 years waiting to do something with, you have inspired me!!!!
The sleeping bag is too cute! I notice you have some green toile in that picture....if I could, my entire house would be covered in toile....
The sock monkey is just incredible! We are HUGE sock monkey people and I'm thinking my DD1 needs a princess...GREAT idea!!!
Okay, the coat....SHEESH! That is just BEEEEEEAUUUUUTIFUL!!!
OH OH OH! THe robe! WOW!
Okay, I really need to practice....you have inspired me! Thank you!
GREAT work!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

Thanks! The girls seemed to like everything & it made me feel better about not having much money to spend.

We have 2 toile bedspreads out of 3 & the third would be toile if I could've found the right colors for less than $10/yd. I  toile, too.

Because you asked (or did you?) here's dd4's Cinder-monkey. I made it for her birthday. I used yarn for the hair on this one, but I think I'll redo it with fabric because it always wants to come undone.

I seem to have lost some multi-quotes. So, if I skipped you, it was purely accidental!

Here is the princess leaving for school today:

th_100_2180.jpg
Would you just look at that little cutie!? I love her outfit!!!!

What a funny little snowman! :lmao: How fun!

Much better. it has been a rough 6 months or so. My daughter had trouble with surgery and we were told has aspergers and I suffered two Miscarriage one in August and the other in december but finally things are going better and I am in a better place
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your babies. That is such a difficult thing to go through. I'm glad you're feeling a little better now.

What a sledful of cuties!!!

Don't know if this has been mentioned but all walmarts are going to stop selling fabric eventully... so keep checking if yours hasn't already! mine didn't have much else left.. all the thread was gone.

This is just something they have considered. Like Teresa mentioned, they just opened a brand new WalMart in her town with a fabric department. They also put a fabric department in our new super walmart. So, don't give up home on Walmart fabric! I used to have a "Save Walmart Fabric" logo in my siggy, but took it out in favor of a ticker. What a slacker I am!

th_snow10.jpg

And to keep the pics Disney related -- Parker is wearing a Minnie Mouse hat!
th_snow4.jpg
What great pictures! The kids look so adorable! We're supposed to keep this thread Disney-related?

This has been posted before, but I thought it was time to bring it up again. Let's let Walmart know that we do not want them to close the fabric departments.
http://walmartstores.com/GlobalWMStoresWeb/navigate.do?catg=224

I also wanted to add that the Super Walmart that was just built in our town was not suppose to have a fabric department. They changed that plan just weeks before they opened because of all he protests! So, I really believe that we can make a difference if we all speak out about this.

Yes, CALL, WRITE, do your part if you like Walmart fabrics!!!

This seems like an ongoing saga for me! To recap, DH's company had (notice the past tense here - it will make sense later!) a meeting scheduled in February at the Dolphin. We originally planned on all of us going and my parents were going to meet us at WDW to help out with the girls in the parks since it would be just me by myself for 5 days without DH. We got lucky and I became pregnant with #3. Since #3 is coming, we have some house projects we would like to get done before the arrival to make things go smoother. Due to costs involved, we considered scrapping the trip to WDW to keep our expenses down. Last week (after many tears by me!) we decided to go since it will be our last vacation for a while until the new baby is old enough to be easily transported (at least a year for a real vacation not just visiting family). We booked the hotels (using hilton points) and plane tickets (using American Airlines miles) for ourselves and my parents. Now for the new news.........drumroll please............yesterday DH gets an email saying their meeting has been cancelled. Now just to clarify DH works for one of the biggest companies, if not the biggest (I think it is actually #2) in the WORLD. This meeting was for one small division of sales that would involve approximately 2000 sales people traveling there. He had already received his itinerary and it included a private party at Sea World, tickets to La Nouba, etc. We thought everything was set in stone so we went through and made our plans and, of course, now everything is up in the air! I would really like to have a discussion with whoever made the decision :rotfl2: . Do they know the havoc they create in my life? And I finally got started sewing yesterday after buying my fabric on Monday. So now our decision is to use more hilton points to cover the time when we thought we would be at the Dolphin (DH travels so we do have lots but not the point) and still go or scrap the whole thing (we would definitely get our hotel points back but I'm not sure about our airmiles). On the positive side DH would be with us the whole time which is fantastic! On the down side, money is still an issue and even with all of the free points we are still paying for tickets, food, and kennel for our dog (not cheap.....they just went up to $38 a day:scared1: and due to flight times he would have to be there for 10 days). Also, after we booked everything we told our girls we were going (DD4 and DD2) so they are excited and I hate to dissapoint them. We told our oldest that she could get her haircut for the first time (she has kinky curly hair that only looks slightly past shoulder length when dry but when wet is to her bottom) there too so she is really excited! And it will be our last trip to WDW probably for a couple of years so I'm leaning towards going but I'm so frustrated! Sorry for the rant I just needed to share!
Oh man, how frustrating!! How could they just cancel all of that! I'm glad you're still planning on going.

I almost forgot! I made this last week!! This was actually my second custom...thanks again to jham for the patterns and inspiration!

Buttons SCARE ME! IS there any secret to the button holes? My machine probably does something, but, I'm clueless! And by hand was NOT fun! HELP!!!

I can't see the picture. Darn it!!

It is much cuter is real life! Megan had it on for about 5 seconds before she threw it on the kitchen table. I would never have completed it without LisaZoe's help! Thank you so much for answering my desperate pms! Once I figured out the European pattern, it came together pretty quickly.
That is so cute!!

OH! You mentioned me CASE ing the adorable brown & blue outfit from my 2 angels...HELP ME! Not sure what CASE means, but, if it means copy and steal and make myself...sign me up! I'll need your help!
You figured it out!
CASE= Copy and Steal Everything
CAB= Copy and Butcher
Voldemort or :wizard: (he who can not be named)= ebay
Waldemort= WalMart

What a bunch of fantastic stuff! I absolutely adore that coat!! The Ariel robe is beautiful, the canopy is terrific, the sock monkey is a little scary, but don't take it personally (I have a sock monkey phobia :rotfl: ).

We had a set with a doll, stroller, bed, high chair, car seat, baby swing, and a bunch of other accessories that was recalled for lead. It was one of the kid's favorite toys and I wasn't happy! It was impossible to replace it all for the $40 we got back.

Yup, still scary even with a Cinderella dress on! :rotfl:

Just so you don't think I'm totally slacking off, here's what I've done with my new machine so far! It's an applique on Tessa's Cinderella dress:

1-19-08039Medium.jpg

I haven't had much time to sew with Sawyer getting into EVERYTHING, but I did this yesterday during his nap. I LOVE my new machine!! It's so much easier to applique on it, plus it beeps! ;)

OH. MY. GOSH. !!!!
Seriously the cutest thing EVER!!! Did you just create your own Cinderella (& Ariel) dress? SOOOO cute! I am definitely going to snag your idea! LOVE IT!
I became obsessed w/toile myself a few years ago, when you couldn't find anything unless it was in a boutique AND way over $10 a yard! I LOVE IT! And it's timeless...always good for jusifying a large purchase....and you know it will always look good! SO FUN!
OH! Now, one question, if you re do the monkey w/fabric, how would you do it?

I say GO FOR IT!!! I am sure you are not going to be laying on your death bed one day and say....geeeeee I really regret spending time as a family in Disney???? Of course not...and truthfully, house projects will always be around....but your precious little ones are only little for a short time. What a great opportunity for some nice memories...and as you said, it will be awhile before the new little one (CONGRATULATIONS) can enjoy a trip. So.....if you can possibly swing it, I would still go if I were you!! :dance3:

Alrighty Girls....I had 10 pages to catch up on....and I swear I was just on here checking yesterday:confused3 ;)
Anyways.... a few comments.....

JHAM - awesome outfits...have a wonderful-terrific-dream-filled vacation!!!

Spongy - what adorable dresses...but weren't you tired after all that sewing??? They really are cute though! great job!

Steph - Meg looks so cute in her dress! and hat!

I love the big family of 7....darn I forgot your name but your kiddos are adorable.

And to whoever make that blue and brown paisley outfit....awwwwwwww so adorable and your DD is soooo cute too!!!

And the other litte DD with the two tiny pig tails.....I just wanted to eat her up! So cute!!!!

OK I guess you figured out I am terrible with names...so sorry.

To anyone I missed I loved all the pics today..cool snow and all. I have to grade a bunch of quizzes :teacher: now but I couldn't let a day go by without posting something.

Oh and one final thing....I finished putting the girls "Princess Bunk Bed" together but I didnt post any pictures. Sooooo, here they are in their new big girl beds. (OH and don't worry, the girls aren't allowed on the top bunk unless Mommy is standing there to supervise....we move the ladder! ;)

IMGP4868.jpg

IMGP4869.jpg

Besides the bed, I have also assembled all the pieces in the pic behind Devon...changing table and book cases etc. I love to assemble furniture I guess :confused3

IMGP4760.jpg

Oh and one final thing......My littlest turned 3 on Jan 6th. On the 7th she insisted on wearing "big girl underwear" to school. And that was the end of that. She's been dry ever since........yaaaa for little Brookie!! :cool1:

Finally ...ro really.... I made my first peasant top (its so cool) but have no room on the camera to take pics yet. My DH is taking it to get the pics taken off and put on disk...so pics will be forthcoming! OK that's really all for now!

Hey, Everybody! All those who liked my Halloween Pumpkin Mickey Applique Tees I made for my DGDs..
PumpkinPatch1.jpg

I have had my pattern digitized for machine embroidery. :dance3: The design is available through the person who digitized it for me. If you would like to get the design PM me and I can give you the info regarding it. It is available in the 4x4 and the 5x7 and just about all formats. It looks like this:

OK I guess you figured out I am terrible with names...so sorry.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I am so jealous of Teresa and Heather, who seem to remember not only the posters but the names of all the kids, too. Everyone should be required to repeat their name and their kids's name when they post (if they want to). That would help me a lot!

Hey, I love your princess castle for the top bunk. I should have thought of that for my son's bunk bed. We got it when he was three and he was finally allowed to go up there last year!

Thanks to everyone who complimented me on the dress and hat. It's the first thing I CASEd (from Jham) that turned out exactly like I pictured it! I sent an e-mail to my friend asking if I could make one for her and she told me her daughter was sick of her hair falling out so they just shaved it off. So now I get to make another one, hopefully it won't take as many mess-ups!

I'll catch up reading tomorrow (yawn). Have a good night everyone and get packing Jham! Heather, your birdie looks beautiful!

AWESOME job on the birdie! Don't you just love the machine!

I love all the new stuff!!! I need to get my patootie in gear and go to the fabric store. I have some princess toile and I am deciding what to make. I want to make a pretty Easter dress with it, but I also want to make a halter top for the girls to wear to the parks. I need to plan my outfits. We are going in April and I need to think what I want them to wear. I think I am mainly going to make the jumper tops, and they can wear shorts or leggings with them. I want them to be cute, but comfy. I am afraid if I make them dresses and skirts, they will not be very comfortable walking around the parks. I might make a few peasant tops and maybe I might try my hand at shirring. Do you guys have dresses for your girls for everyday? Or do you make shirts and shorts?

Look what I learned how to do today!

That was my cute baby! Thank you! your girls are just too cute! I love the bunk bed and tent and I LOVE the table and chair set! And yeah:banana:   for going to the potty! My DD was 2 1/2 when she decided she wanted to wear panties. She got up one morning and said she wanted big girl panties and she never wore another diaper! And show us some pics of the new top!!!!!!

I made dresses and skirts only because my DD4 REFUSES to wear pants!:confused3 She hates them! I did get her to wear one pair of pants that I made but everything else was skirts or dresses. She walked around all day in them and was very comfortable! She never complained!

Well, I started this morning with a great long reply and now just getting back to the computer! Everything is so cute that has been posted!

Jham you have been so busy!

Tadamom - are you from Ohio originally? I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls/Akron area. Glad to see your kids were as excited as Dallas about the snow. Wish we would have gotten a bit more, it seemed to fade and start sleeting too quickly.

my2angles - LOVE that outfit!

Stephres love the valentine custom for Megan too!

Heather what machine did you get? Did I miss it? Can't wait to see Cindy finished!

Okay, for all that have jumbled together. Totally bummer on the husbands meeting being canceled but I would still go and enjoy the trip, everything is set. We took DS to disney when he was 6 weeks old so don't give up on vacation for a year or so. We had the best trip, laid back and relaxing.

Gosh, now I totally forget what else I was going to say! Where is my mind today!

On a happy note we are going to Disneyland in May! I have never been there and everyone is quite excited. Dallas is more excited about legoland and upset because he heard us talking about going to DW this week for a couple of days, but no one felt good (and we would have missed the snow) so didn't go. But he is insisting we hit DW first!

Any ideas for customs? I thought I was done making them for him, but this can be the last hurrah!

I am easy to remember LOL-you have Megan, I have Morgan LOL and we both live in Fl:woohoo:

My DD wears dress to WDW all the time (preferably ones that "spin":lmao: ). I can only think of two pair of pants I have made for her and she hasn't even worn one. I do put leggings or bike shorts under her dresses and skirts.

Shirring is not hard, GO FOR It!!!!! I have made a bunch of peasant tops and shirred the tops and even some of the sleeves.
