:surfweb: Okay, it is only 1:15am at my house and I'm going to bed! I finally finished my bows which take me forever! I made a set for the valentine's jumper, one for the AK outfit and one for the Nemo jumper. Must sleep now! Tomorrow (I guess today actually) I just have to make 2 bracelets, clean the house, and I probably should pack!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I have been busy busy busy this week getting ready for the big party on saturday for ds- he will be 4 on sunday!!!! I'm still not sure how that happened, it doesn't seem like he should be that old already!! :sad2: I have been trying to keep up with my reading so I didn't get to far behind!! And I wanted to tell you I was at JoAnns 3 times this week and finally decided tonight that I want to make a stripwork jumper w/ a princess applique for dd for sat. I bought the fabric tonight and will hopefully get most of it done tomorrow (today)
A)Welcome to all our newbies- Our group is growing everyday!!!
B)Have a great trip to all those heading to the world/land this weekend!!!
C)Love all the valentines customs- I did by some Easter fabric today that I just HAD to have!! And it isn't really easter so it was 40% off as it was a regular kalico cotton. It has pastel strips and is sparkly!!
D)All the other Customs are great too!!
E)Spongemommie sorry about the sick kid- my dd is cutting her 4th molar and has been waking up in the middle of the night and SCREAMING!!! FUN times!!
And I love those bows- WOW did you make those!! And Can't believe you got a 15 yr. old to participate in matching custom outfits. She must be a good sport- What are they for??
F)Teresa I almost bought ribbon to make those clippies but I hadn't pick what I wanted to make and wasn't sure what colors to get so I skipped it -This time!!! What ones have you made and where are the pictures!!!!
G)Heather CONGRATS on the new machine- You do have a great sister don't you!!
H) Jham great bows
I)All the Videos were so cute- ok I better stop so I can get to sleep!!
J) OK 1 more- It is SO COLD here!!! This weekend it is not supposed to get above 0!!! That is Fahrenheit :scared1: So stay warm Everyone!!! And all you in the warmer climates think warm thoughts for us:beach:
I'll hopefully be back before friday night so you all can my dd again.
Good morning Early risers:sunny:

I love everyone's outfits posted lately - the AK skirt is so cute. I keep wanting to make one, but something always gets in front of it. Plus, I haven't bought any fabric for it yet.

Speaking of fabric, LOVE the new Friends Around the World fabric. I may have to get some of that!

My sister bought me a POTC skirt for my birthday and I'm thinking I may need a custom top to go with it before our Disney trip. Any suggestions?

BTW....

I want to join the "I have an Aunt Penny club". But my Aunts "real" name is Charlene. Sadly she passed away a few years ago (before she was 50). She never got to meet Morgan (or Jord LOL). She still holds a very special place in my heart. (She helped raise us when my parents spilt up).

I think Aunt Penny's are special people:hug:

Sorry to hear about your Aunt Penny. Aunt Penny's are the best!

My children have an Aunt Penney! My DB and DSIL live on the east coast, so we don't get to see them very often.

Cool! I don't think we've ever met another Penny, let alone all these Aunt Pennys!

I love it!!

For whoever asked to see the new Friends Around the World fabric from JoAnns... the baby was in a good mood yesterday so I was able to make a quick trip to pick some up...
th_100_1437.jpg

I took a picture of this fabric with my phone yesterday when I was in JoAnn's but you beat me to it! And your picture is much better. This fabric is so cute!

How did you ever hear me say I wanted to see Megan in that dress! I did, I really did!! She looks absolutely gorgeous!

You are coveting my beeping sewing machine, aren't you?;) I don't blame you!

Tessa and Lydia will be wearing this dress (minus the brown shirt) we got on Voldemort that the bride picked out. Lydia's is slightly different.
th_12-24-07wearingflowergirldress.jpg

Cute dress! I love the light blue! And the brown shirt just makes it pop, lol. Yes, I am jealous of your beeping machine. I think that might scare me though. Since I have yet to take my brand new serger out of the box, I really have no room to be jealous!

Okay ladies, I think I may be crazy! I just e-mailed this organization about this dog:
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10066192

I think I'm in love!! I've been considering getting a 2nd dog as a companion to our little Josie (and us, of course). But, I also think I'm crazy for wanting 2 dogs! We had 2 dogs before my beloved Tomia died (she was 16).

I even called Henry to see what he thinks. He said as long as I agree to pay the adoption fee, he's fine with it.

Tell me I'm crazy! The woman hasn't e-mailed me back yet to let me know if good 'ol Scout is still available, so this may be a moot point.

My husband's family had a schnauzer when he was a kid and she was such a good dog. I'm not sure I would want two though!

I wondered the same thing about the return policy. I can see not taking back fabric that has been cut but.... after she told me that they didn't take back material once it had been washed I asked her "aren't you supposed to wash the fabric before you start sewing?" And she sheepishly said "yeah". What would have ticked me off even more about the fabric is if, I didn't wash it, made my entire outfit and then after being washed the thing bled. I would have been royally hacked off!!!!!!!!!!

That is crazy that they gave you a hard time when it was clearly damaged. My husband thinks that the fabric stores' coupon policies are crazy, how you can't use a coupon when something is on sale. He thinks they should give you lowest possible price, either the sale price or the full price with coupon. I told him they don't work that way, unfortunately!

Megan looks ADORABLE!!!! I love it!! I see Heather posted pictures of Tessa in her dress, but I will try to find the pictures I have of Lydia in hers too.

Can't wait to see Lydia and her dress!

Beautiful! I just bought some fabric similar to this, it is orange, pink and peach. I am trying to decide what to do with it, and that is really cute.

Yes, it's me again--last one! (photos not post, I'm going to be up late making bows).

I stayed up until 2:30 this morning making this for DD2 to wear on the airplane. All the white parts are sparkly! What is this sickness?

IMG_0158.jpg

And just for fun (okay, I'm probably the only one having fun here :rotfl: I'm getting a little loopy from lack of sleep) My kids love the coin press machines! So I got these mini m&m containers, emptied them out :rolleyes1 peeled the label off, and stuck some stickers on. I got some shiny new pennies at the bank and stacked 2 quarters then a penny, etc. etc. The quarters fit perfectly! And I won't be fishing through my wallet looking for change every time we pass a machine! Sorry the picture is blurry :confused3
IMG_0168_edited-1.jpg

Great idea!!! We collect those too.:thumbsup2

How cute is she?!:cutie:

I love the blue and brown! So cute together and your daughter is adorable. I'm so glad she is feeling better!

We are past the sippy cup stage, but these are adorable! What a great idea!

This is so cute! I never buy overalls, but good luck!

I don't know if anyone remembers me but I was here alot in the summer and then we had a lot of medical issues come up and I was unable to post. I am back and trying to get through this thread! We are going to the World in March and I can't wait. My oldest two will wear customs each day we are there

Welcome back! We are going in March too, during the kids' spring break.

I went to Joanns tonight looking for the new Friends around the World fabric and sniff, sniff they didn't have any! :( But I did manage to get 2 yards of Mickey christmas fabric for next years stash for a whole whoppin $2 a yard. So I guess the trip wasn't completely wasted. :rotfl:

On another note I was googling today to see if I could find a free pattern for a strip work jumper and I came across this http://kandykissesboutique.typepad....?/photos/uncategorized/2008/01/02/grace23.jpg Dunno if I can post the image here or not since it's not my image so I just posted the link. Anyone know of a pattern for this little beauty???

I have a pattern for that type bodice, McCalls M5088, and then you could add the patchwork skirt to it. It's really cute!

Cute animal kingdom outfits! I would add a bow too, I think. I have had a hard time finding sturdy t-shirts in a girl cut. The ones I find are really thin!

Love them all! I really like Bruce in the Mickey head, the kids are going to look so cute all together!

Ok, I am still behind reading, but I've got to get the kids ready for school. And I finished the Valentine's dress so maybe Megan will let me take a picture or two before the bus gets here. ;)

Here is my attempts at making a cute dress for my 7 month old daughter. It is no where near any of the ones on here, but it is my first attempt. I would love to know where you find instructions or patterns on making the patchwork dresses that are posted on here.

She is a cutie! Love the pigtails! I think you have done a fabulous job on this outfit. You should be very proud.

Here are the rugrats...all but, DD4...

Another great outfit! AND - what an ingenious idea to hold those quarters and pennies! This is great! I may need to CASE that idea.

Hi Everyone! I'm loving this thread.

Wonderful Spongemommie sent me over here since I JUST got into sewing. And I mean I just finished a class on Monday night! :lmao:

Dh saw how excited I was and bought me a Disney Brother 270D!!! I have no clue how to use it:confused3 :rotfl: but I'm really eager to learn!

All of these outfits are darling! I'm so inspired to learn. I've been randomly clicking on pages to look at the pictures and read the tips. One of these days I'll have to sit down and go through page by page!

I can't wait to get started but I think I'll start with something easy like Pirate PJ pants for my son! :rotfl2: Keep it simple!

Anyway, wanted to pop on over and say hi. She said I would love it and she's right.

Thanks Spongie! :thumbsup2

WELCOME! You'll love it here! Everyone is very helpful. Make sure you check out the bookmarks and photobucket account for lots of tutorials and inspring pics. (To find them, go to the very first post of this thread, at the bottom, in bold, are two links - one for the photobucket account, and one for the tutorials. The links are also found in TeresaJoy's signature whenever she posts).

You'll love your embroidery machine! That's another sickness all it's own.

Have you checked out the Creative Disigns board here? There are LOTS of great iron ons there. Maybe you can find a great design and iron it on to a pre-made top?

MY*2*ANGELS - I don't know how I missed your outfit earlier, but it sure is cute! I love the brown & blue together.

Oh my, what an adorable baby! You learned to sew just in time! I think the outfits look great and she is just a doll!

Perfect for an older girl! It really looks great!

You have a beautiful family.

Cute sparkly heart outfit! And the m&m container idea, I am definitely stealing that. That is so smart and the kids would love to have their own place to keep their pennies!

Welcome! :flower3:

Love the daisies! I like how all they all coordinate but they are not exactly the same. I hope your sick one feels better today!

I think I am going to have to get you to make bows for our trip; those are so cute! I can't believe you whipped those up so fast!

That is so cute! I love your daughter's wee little pigtails! I have that fabric just sitting around, I can't decide what to do with it. If you look at the very first post in this thread, there is a link to bookmarks to all kinds of free patterns and ideas. There is also a link to our photobucket account which has pictures of what people have made here. Welcome!

Here is the princess leaving for school today:

100_2180.jpg

I was thinking, all this needs is pink boots and it would be prefect! :rotfl:

It actually could use another ruffle, but I am so tired of ruffling, I just couldn't bear it. And I didn't want to go buy more fabric again! I am working on a little hat to match, maybe I will finish before she gets home from school!

We finally got some snow! First time since before Dallas could walk. It wasn't much but something to get excited about around here. This is his snowman!

100_4210.jpg

We got maybe a bit more after this but did hit the backyard for sledding!

100_4206.jpg

It's great to see you back again! How are you doing now?

Much better. it has been a rough 6 months or so. My daughter had trouble with surgery and we were told has aspergers and I suffered two Miscarriage one in August and the other in december but finally things are going better and I am in a better place

Tooooo cute and I like the outfit as well! That fabric is FANTASTIC!

Well, I actually finished something today!   I can't believe it, but here it is! I even got my DD1 to "model" for me!
christmas07-232.jpg

She is sooo funny! I actually said "back up so mommy can take your picture and she did it! And then I said you have to model for mommy and this is what she did:
christmas07-22.jpg

How cute is she?!:cutie:

I LOVE the aqua and chocolate together. Love chocolate and pink too. But that paisley is awsome. What a great outfit.

I love all of the customs I have seen!!! The last Nemo dress posted was beautiful. My dd saw it and said "I want that". I will have to start taking pictures of my dd's in their customss. Of course I buy mine b/c I am not talented enough to make them

okay I am losing my mind I think :lmao: do you all make customs for you dc to wear everyday you are at disney?
yesterday I was looking at pettiskirts and had a great idea ;) for a moment I thought she needed them for disney... I thought I could make a cute tank, similar to the ones I made for her last year.. but alot more of them ...we will be there for 10 days so I came up w/ 10 different idea :confused3 for example - green petti w/ tink tank, red/black petti w/ minnie tank etc... well then I priced the pettis and priced making them myself :lmao: lets just say thats not happening LOL I may get 1 for her b-day this year.. but thats it (about $30 each if you order them whole sale) SO then I had another great idea.. I already make tutu's for dd's dance class so I could have the same idea but w/ a cute matching tutu.. I thought she could wear the same style knit shorts she wore last year under it, so if needed I could slip off the tutu.. I could have a ziplock in my bag to smoosh it down if I had to ;)

but then I was wondering if I was totally insane for even thinking about making her customs for each day we are there??? Esp whan I am a clothes freak when it comes to my dd... gymbo obsessed etc..

okay-thanks for reading my rant LOL
BACK TO MY QUESTIONS..
do you make customs for each day you are at disney?
do your dd's also wear princess dresses to special dinners?

So sorry about your miscarriages. My nephew is 17 and he has aspergers and he is doing so well right now. He will even be able to graduate a year early from high school.

Customs for each day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Let's just say some of us make so many they never even wear them all. I've even heard of people changing their kids outfits for certain rides :lmao: so princess dresses for dinner are de rigeur around here! You are in the right place. You can never have too many customs and no such thing as being a clothes freak :confused3 Your idea with the tutus sounds cute! I would LOVE a petti for DD2 but I figure I'd better wait a year or two. I just wanna know how to get one for $30!

It's a SNOW DAY here!!!
Kids: :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Here are the little darlings playing in the snow.

Jham: Love all of your outfits and accessories. Have a great, WARM, time at the World.

Sugarbees: Your kids are adorable. Your littlest has an adorable smile.

I'm so jealous of all you people in warm places. I'm sooo tired of winter. At least we should be able to get out. Have to go to Gymboree to spend my Gymbucks. :thumbsup2

do you make customs for each day you are at disney? YES - sometimes two, or three, or ten! They may not all be very detailed. But - a trip to Disney without customs, is a wasted trip! There's too many great pictures to be had in all the cute customs to NOT make them!

do your dd's also wear princess dresses to special dinners - YES! AGAIN, too many cute picture opportunites missed without a princess dress!

I LOVE the petti idea. We've only done one petti at Disney. GREAT PICS! I WISH I had more for her to do what you suggested. Alas, I don't. I do the same thing with tutus that you suggested. I love to buy really cute disney tees and make tutus to match. It's very cute! And pretty simple.
