Customs for each day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Let's just say some of us make so many they never even wear them all. I've even heard of people changing their kids outfits for certain rides :lmao: so princess dresses for dinner are de rigeur around here! You are in the right place. You can never have too many customs and no such thing as being a clothes freak :confused3 Your idea with the tutus sounds cute! I would LOVE a petti for DD2 but I figure I'd better wait a year or two. I just wanna know how to get one for $30!
2 gymbo boards I belong to often place group orders for pettiskirts.. I believe they are Sams Pettis. the problem is they take so long to get to you... 6-8 weeks I think I read, and thats a rush order:scared1: but you can order any size, length, color combo. they all get shipped to whoever places the order than you have to pay for shipping again to get them to you. I can't decide what color to get.. I want them all LOL
here's a pic so everyone knows what I'm talking about..
thumb.asp

I know there are 2 options... 1 is fuller than the other. if you want I can post more details ;)

okay I am losing my mind I think :lmao: do you all make customs for you dc to wear everyday you are at disney?
yesterday I was looking at pettiskirts and had a great idea ;) for a moment I thought she needed them for disney... I thought I could make a cute tank, similar to the ones I made for her last year.. but alot more of them ...we will be there for 10 days so I came up w/ 10 different idea :confused3 for example - green petti w/ tink tank, red/black petti w/ minnie tank etc... well then I priced the pettis and priced making them myself :lmao: lets just say thats not happening LOL I may get 1 for her b-day this year.. but thats it (about $30 each if you order them whole sale) SO then I had another great idea.. I already make tutu's for dd's dance class so I could have the same idea but w/ a cute matching tutu.. I thought she could wear the same style knit shorts she wore last year under it, so if needed I could slip off the tutu.. I could have a ziplock in my bag to smoosh it down if I had to ;)

but then I was wondering if I was totally insane for even thinking about making her customs for each day we are there??? Esp whan I am a clothes freak when it comes to my dd... gymbo obsessed etc..

okay-thanks for reading my rant LOL
BACK TO MY QUESTIONS..
do you make customs for each day you are at disney?
do your dd's also wear princess dresses to special dinners?

Yup, customs for every day. Seems silly if you think to hard about it but of well.

I love the pettiskirt idea but I see that taking up a lot of suitcase space (even in a ziploc bag).

do you make customs for each day you are at disney? YES - sometimes two, or three, or ten! They may not all be very detailed. But - a trip to Disney without customs, is a wasted trip! There's too many great pictures to be had in all the cute customs to NOT make them!

do your dd's also wear princess dresses to special dinners - YES! AGAIN, too many cute picture opportunites missed without a princess dress!

I LOVE the petti idea. We've only done one petti at Disney. GREAT PICS! I WISH I had more for her to do what you suggested. Alas, I don't. I do the same thing with tutus that you suggested. I love to buy really cute disney tees and make tutus to match. It's very cute! And pretty simple.

LOL great minds think alike LOL I just stocked up on tulle.. my walmart has all the fabric & ribbon by the yard at 50% off... so I got every color they had left :lmao: plus all the 1.5 " polka-dot ribbon by the yard.. in red, black, pink, navy, & green... I started to just get 5 yards each... but my dh was like "you know you want it all" so yep I got it all LOL
Don't know if this has been mentioned but all walmarts are going to stop selling fabric eventully... so keep checking if yours hasn't already! mine didn't have much else left.. all the thread was gone.

Hedited.jpg

BTW where does everyone get their overalls from? Anywhere better than others? These are walmart ones and I must say I am not to fond of them, but that may be more because I picked up a 3 T and she is a 2 T.

These are ADORABLE! I think you did an awesome job!

jham was sooo right! I actually tried to msg you earlier about your adorable daughter and gorgeous outfit...but...got some weird error message! ANYWAY! I'm not sure exactly how to "CASE", but...sign me up!

:rotfl: CASE means to copy and steal everything! And the top is a peasant top and the pants are gauchos. Feel free to pm me with an questions!

And here are the Ts for the big kids. The applique is really not as wobbly as it looks in the photo!

IMG_0165_edited-1.jpg

Okay, you are just SHOWING OFF! :rotfl: EVERYTHING you have made is FANTASTIC! And you did it all so fast! I am soooo jealous!

Okay...gulp...here goes!
This is DD! in her outfit Auntie jham helped A LOT with!!! My first "custom" actually! woo hoo!!!
001.jpg

I made this (all by myself!!! big girl!!) yesterday...try to imagine the little munchkin w/a super cute bow in her (fuzz) hair, white tights, and black maryjanes....would've tried tonight, but, she was heading to bed!!!

She is just tooooo cute! And the outfits are FANTASTIC!

LOVE this! Your daughter is beautiful!

Here are the rugrats...all but, DD4...

005-1.jpg

What a beautiful family!
Yes, it's me again--last one! (photos not post, I'm going to be up late making bows).

I stayed up until 2:30 this morning making this for DD2 to wear on the airplane. All the white parts are sparkly! What is this sickness?

IMG_0158.jpg

And just for fun (okay, I'm probably the only one having fun here :rotfl: I'm getting a little loopy from lack of sleep) My kids love the coin press machines! So I got these mini m&m containers, emptied them out :rolleyes1 peeled the label off, and stuck some stickers on. I got some shiny new pennies at the bank and stacked 2 quarters then a penny, etc. etc. The quarters fit perfectly! And I won't be fishing through my wallet looking for change every time we pass a machine! Sorry the picture is blurry :confused3
IMG_0168_edited-1.jpg

Okay I said stop showing off!:rotfl2: LOVE the dress and the tube idea! Great job!
Anyway, wanted to pop on over and say hi. She said I would love it and she's right.

Thanks Spongie!

WELCOME! Now post some pics!!!!:rotfl: We are glad to have you and we want to see everything you make!

i am glad you came over, you will love it here. i just wanted to post what i have been working on lately ..

:surfweb: Okay, it is only 1:15am at my house and I'm going to bed! I finally finished my bows which take me forever! I made a set for the valentine's jumper, one for the AK outfit and one for the Nemo jumper. Must sleep now! Tomorrow (I guess today actually) I just have to make 2 bracelets, clean the house, and I probably should pack!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I love the blue and brown! So cute together and your daughter is adorable. I'm so glad she is feeling better!

Thank you! I am glad she's better too! And I just love blue and brown and when I saw this fabric I just HAD to have it!

Here is my attempts at making a cute dress for my 7 month old daughter. It is no where near any of the ones on here, but it is my first attempt. I would love to know where you find instructions or patterns on making the patchwork dresses that are posted on here.

She is sooo ADORABLE and you did a great job on the outfit!

MY*2*ANGELS - I don't know how I missed your outfit earlier, but it sure is cute! I love the brown & blue together.

Thank you!

Here is the princess leaving for school today:

100_2180.jpg

I was thinking, all this needs is pink boots and it would be prefect! :rotfl:

It actually could use another ruffle, but I am so tired of ruffling, I just couldn't bear it. And I didn't want to go buy more fabric again! I am working on a little hat to match, maybe I will finish before she gets home from school!
Steph, she is just to cute and the outfit is FANTASTIC! And what girl doesn't need pink boots!:confused3

We finally got some snow! First time since before Dallas could walk. It wasn't much but something to get excited about around here. This is his snowman!

100_4210.jpg

We got maybe a bit more after this but did hit the backyard for sledding!

100_4206.jpg

Yeah for snow and Dallas is so cute!

Much better. it has been a rough 6 months or so. My daughter had trouble with surgery and we were told has aspergers and I suffered two Miscarriage one in August and the other in december but finally things are going better and I am in a better place

 for you! I hope everything is going well now. I will keep you in my prayers!

I LOVE the aqua and chocolate together. Love chocolate and pink too. But that paisley is awsome. What a great outfit.

thank you and I have this same print in pink and brown!

okay I am losing my mind I think :lmao: do you all make customs for you dc to wear everyday you are at disney?

BACK TO MY QUESTIONS..
do you make customs for each day you are at disney?

YES YES YES! I made customs for everyday and then some! My dh thought I was a lunatic until we got there and said how cute they looked and they kept getting TONS of attention!

That looks like a nice relaiable machine! How old is it?

It was made in the late 70's - I am told it is one of the first electronic sewing machines!

Look what came in the mail today!! DD will wear this on Valentines day - the first day of our cruise!! Thanks Lori! (eeyore3847) DD loves it. She took it off and was amazed that the skirt stands up on its own when its on the floor! Shes trying to jump into it right now!

th_IMG_2926.jpg

That is SO cute! Love the fabric on the skirt!

Well, I actually finished something today!   I can't believe it, but here it is! I even got my DD1 to "model" for me!
th_christmas07-232.jpg

She is sooo funny! I actually said "back up so mommy can take your picture and she did it! And then I said you have to model for mommy and this is what she did:
th_christmas07-22.jpg

How cute is she?!:cutie:

She is SUPER cute! You did a great job on the outfit too - beautiful colors!

And just for fun (okay, I'm probably the only one having fun here :rotfl: I'm getting a little loopy from lack of sleep) My kids love the coin press machines! IMG_0168_edited-1.jpg

A couple years ago, I had seen in a magazine a craft to make and I tried it. Now Kirsta is older, and is likeing to make the pennies, I think I'll try again. They used the 35mm film canister, drill a minnie hole in the lid and the canister. Then you get the KeyRing hook and run the ring through both holes. That way the kids can hook the key ring with change onto a belt loop. I won't hold much, it can be replenished during the day.

Here are the other customs we will be taking to Disneyworld, so if you see us in the parks--Cindee, Stacey, anyone else...PLEASE say hi! These I have already posted before.

She is just too stinkin' CUTE!!! Great job on the outfit too!!!

Just trying to rack up the posts here :lmao: don't want to drop out of the top 20! (or if I already have, then top 25!)

This is my favorite, it is for the PPP on the 21st. It took me forever to figure out how I wanted to do the shirt. I was going to do a satin stitch around the eye-patch but ran out of thread :scared1: I want one for me! The tulle gathering on the skirt was not bad at all because I used the dental floss method. DD was feeling a little rock 'n' roll I guess because she wanted to pose on the "stage" She LOVES this outfit.

Lovin' all the new outfits ladies!!!

Welcome to all the newbies as well!!!!

We got some snow too! We were soooo excited, we haven't seen this much snow in the 4.5 years we have lived in Atlanta.

To the pp who asked about customs each day... I too am picky about what my dds wear and am a gymbo freak, I even was a manager there. Anyways, my two oldest will wear customs everyday while we are there and I acutally think I may have too many customs for them to wear. My youngest will not wear them except 1 b/c her size changes

LOL okay glad I'm not alone ;) I guess it feels a bit weird even thinking about dd not wearing any of her cute gymbo clothes while we are there LOL
but last summer I only did the 2 tanks, and I really was wishing she had more. and looking back at pics I was wishing I had done something a bit "dressier" for pics... so I think the tutu idea will work out, and still be comfy cause it will be basically tank and knit shorts .. the tutus will be fairly short and just slip over her outfit.

Ok, so yesterday was only slow as long as I was online. :lmao:

I love everyone's new things. Esp. the blue & brown paisley, that's is wonderful fabric.

Jham, I *may* have to copy those sippy cups & M&M's holders for our next trip. I wish I'd thought of that for the last one.

Awesome SET!!!!!!!!!!
ycmt has a stripwork jumper pattern.
but the patchwork is a formula.
I can't find it at the moment.
lisazoe or princessleighs daddy have done those dresses they should answer that better.

I LOVE this shirt! So original! How do you do the rhinestones? I'm still wanting to try that but haven't yet.

Here are the rugrats...all but, DD4...

If I counted right, 7 kids? I am feeling overwhelmed knowing that #3 will make it's (I hate calling it an "it"!) debut this summer so now I know who to turn to for some advice! You've got to have it down!

Hi Everyone! I'm loving this thread.

Wonderful Spongemommie sent me over here since I JUST got into sewing. And I mean I just finished a class on Monday night! :lmao:

Dh saw how excited I was and bought me a Disney Brother 270D!!! I have no clue how to use it:confused3 :rotfl: but I'm really eager to learn!

All of these outfits are darling! I'm so inspired to learn. I've been randomly clicking on pages to look at the pictures and read the tips. One of these days I'll have to sit down and go through page by page!

I can't wait to get started but I think I'll start with something easy like Pirate PJ pants for my son! :rotfl2: Keep it simple!

Anyway, wanted to pop on over and say hi. She said I would love it and she's right.

Thanks Spongie! :thumbsup2

Such cute outfits! Beautiful girls too! You must be the favorite aunt to get a 15 year old to wear a custom! Most 15 year olds I know won't be caught dead in anything other than Abercrombie or Hollister!

:surfweb: Okay, it is only 1:15am at my house and I'm going to bed! I finally finished my bows which take me forever! You guys are so good at making bows! I have a hard enough time sewing let alone the bows. I've got the patterns but I'm scared and actually don't own a glue gun yet so I've got to try them sometime!

okay I am losing my mind I think :lmao: do you all make customs for you dc to wear everyday you are at disney?

No, not crazy! When we went last year I only had 5 days worth of customs (for an 8 day trip) for my girls so I washed them so they could wear them again. I actually don't think they wore any of their normal clothes the whole time we were there. They get so much attention in them and look so cute!

Sorry I took out some of the pictures of your creations, I was over the limit on number of images!

It's a SNOW DAY here!!!

Jham: Love all of your outfits and accessories. Have a great, WARM, time at the World.

Sugarbees: Your kids are adorable. Your littlest has an adorable smile.

I'm so jealous of all you people in warm places. I'm sooo tired of winter. At least we should be able to get out. Have to go to Gymboree to spend my Gymbucks. :thumbsup2

I would love to see snow for just 1 day here in az!
