What kind of stupid return policy is that? So, you're never supposed to wash fabric? Hello!! It's fabric, it's going to need to be washed! I'm glad they gave you your money back!

I can just see you now, jumping to the top of the cutting counter, screaming in rage "Don't buy the overpriced bleeding scotty dog fabric!", all Prince Edward from Enchanted style!

I wondered the same thing about the return policy. I can see not taking back fabric that has been cut but.... after she told me that they didn't take back material once it had been washed I asked her "aren't you supposed to wash the fabric before you start sewing?" And she sheepishly said "yeah". What would have ticked me off even more about the fabric is if, I didn't wash it, made my entire outfit and then after being washed the thing bled. I would have been royally hacked off!!!!!!!!!!

Okay ladies, I think I may be crazy! I just e-mailed this organization about this dog:
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10066192

I think I'm in love!! I've been considering getting a 2nd dog as a companion to our little Josie (and us, of course). But, I also think I'm crazy for wanting 2 dogs! We had 2 dogs before my beloved Tomia died (she was 16).

I even called Henry to see what he thinks. He said as long as I agree to pay the adoption fee, he's fine with it.

Tell me I'm crazy! The woman hasn't e-mailed me back yet to let me know if good 'ol Scout is still available, so this may be a moot point.

Hmmm - well - I may not be the right person to answer since we have a new puppy! He is so cute - but so much work to train!

Since my dog is as big as a small horse, I'm probably not the person to ask either! I am a one dog person but that is really all I can afford to feed and take to the veterinarian and kennel when we are out of town. Of course, since Oscar is so big everything is more for him (10 cups of Science Diet everyday, heart worm medicine equal to his weight = 2 100 lb. pills + 1 30 lb. pill, and two flea and tick tubes of medicine) but he is really all I can handle! Scout is a cutie and I love Schnauzers. I grew up with West Highland White Terriers....I know some terriers (ours!) and schnauzers are not the best with small children, have you thought of that? If they rescue people have tried him with small children then I'm sure he's okay. Just other things to think about!

For us non-creative people, is there any places we could buy these adorable outfits??? Are any of them on Ebay?

I'm not one of them (my stuff isn't sellable :rotfl: ), but lots of people on the board have their ebay seller id's listed on their signatures.

Finally got to sewing outfits today for my girls for Valentine's Day in WDW but my sewing machine decided to act up and I had to tear out my applique. I'm about to try again so we'll see if it does it again. I changed out the bobbin, rethreaded so we'll see! Wish me luck!

What? Did you say that you wanted to see the dress Megan wore when she was a flower girl in her Aunt Penny's wedding? Well, ok, if you really want to:

100_0756.jpg
Thanks for the picture!! See how cool are you, you can just tell what we are thinking without us having to type it!!!

Megan looks ADORABLE!!!! I love it!! I see Heather posted pictures of Tessa in her dress, but I will try to find the pictures I have of Lydia in hers too.

Yikes, glad they refunded you the money....now did you buy something else while you were there or did you actually leave with money in hand??:rolleyes1 (something I never do...:rotfl: )QUOTE]

LEAVE a fabric store with money in hand?:confused3 I don't understand these words..... how does this work?:lmao:

rules to live by...
I have money, therefore I NEED fabric :lmao: :lmao:

Great motto!

BTW....

I want to join the "I have an Aunt Penny club". But my Aunts "real" name is Charlene. Sadly she passed away a few years ago (before she was 50). She never got to meet Morgan (or Jord LOL). She still holds a very special place in my heart. (She helped raise us when my parents spilt up).

I think Aunt Penny's are special people:hug:

I am so sorry about your Aunt Penny, she was so young. You can still join, my kids' Aunt Penny is really Constance!

You cracky me up Teresa! And what a sweet sister you are! Yay Heather! I also have the Costco version of this machine and so far I  it! I spent half the day yesterday appliqueing mickey heads and I think I'm much better at it now! I think I did 8 t-shirts! I should be posting photos of all my trip customs some time today, seeing as how I ought to get packing! We leave in 2 DAYS!

Well, it was a floor model, she didn't get a box even!

After posting a picture of my fancy (for me anyway - LOL) new serger - I thought you all would like to see what I am sewing with. It's an oldie but goodie!:goodvibes
DSC_2219.jpg

That looks like a nice relaiable machine! How old is it?
I can just see you now, jumping to the top of the cutting counter, screaming in rage "Don't buy the overpriced bleeding scotty dog fabric!", all Prince Edward from Enchanted style!
That is so funny!

Well the board is kind of slow today! So lets do something fun!! Show me your favorite disney customs pictures in the parks!!
here is nicholas in MGM!!!!
IMG_2346.jpg

He is in his pirate mickey set!
Lori

Oh, he is so cute!!!! I don't have any pictures of my kids in customs at the parks, since this is my first year making them! I would love to see other people's though!
Um, Teresa, exactly how much time do you think we have before we go to Disney, anyway? What are you working on making today? ;)
I'M not the one thinking about getting a new DOG right before we go to Florida now, am I? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I don't know if I want to get pixied. I always wear a baseball cap or visor in the parks since my eyes are so stinkin' sensitive to the sun. It would be fun, though!

Maybe they can just sprinkle you then!
I do have the BEST SISTER EVER!!!!!

Yes, you are a dork! That's why I love you!
Aww, I love you too!

Tessa and Lydia will be wearing this dress (minus the brown shirt) we got on Voldemort that the bride picked out. Lydia's is slightly different.
12-24-07wearingflowergirldress.jpg

I don't know, I think it looks great with the brown shirt underneath!!! Tessa looks so pretty in that!
I'm going to have to tell my Aunt Penny about our club! Welcome! Should we call ourselves the Penny Nieces? Can we think up something catchier?
Hmmm, I can't think of anything right now, but I'll give it some thought. ;)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU ARE CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look what came in the mail today!! DD will wear this on Valentines day - the first day of our cruise!! Thanks Lori! (eeyore3847) DD loves it. She took it off and was amazed that the skirt stands up on its own when its on the floor! Shes trying to jump into it right now!

IMG_2926.jpg

Thank you and I'm 99% sure I'll get a new serger. I really want one that has a coverstitch option and does a better rolled hem stitch. I'm sure there are other features I'll add to the list once I start shopping. :rotfl: I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep my current serger since it does decent stitching for the basic seam finish. I guess I'll wait to see if it would be worth much as a trade-in. It could be a factor if using it as a trade-in means I can get a nicer machine than I would if I keep it. Now I just need to hold off purchasing until I can do some research. My problem is I'm too impulsive once I've mentally committed to a purchase.

On YahooGroups, I belong to a Serger group. They just did a "poll" on how many sergers they have. I was surprised at the people that have 3 and 4 and keep them set up all the time to do a function they like. I am assuming these people must be "custom" sewers. Why else own so many machines.

CUTE! CUTE! CUTE! Love it!

He's so cute!! He makes me want to take him home. If you think that you're up to and that your family can handle it I say go for it. He is adorable.

He is cute, isn't he?

I actually did leave with all of my refund me -- I was soooo proud of myself!
Do you have a fever? ;)

Hmmm - well - I may not be the right person to answer since we have a new puppy! He is so cute - but so much work to train!
That's why I didn't want a puppy! They're adorable, but I don't want to housetrain another dog, and have them chewing on everything!

Josie's a schnauzer and she's wonderful with our kids. Tomia (my last dog) was a schnauzer mix and she was as gentle as can be with kids, too. My friend had a schnauzer when I was a kid and he wasn't good with anyone! :lmao: Henry's grandma's westie gets a little nippy with kids, too. I guess it all depends on the dog. I will definitely ask specifics about this dog before I make a decision- like does it nip at ALL, how young of children has it been around, etc... I'll also pay attention to how it reacts to my kids if we go look at it.

I'M not the one thinking about getting a new DOG right before we go to Florida now, am I? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU ARE CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we've talked to Henry's grandma Jo about it and she said she'd watch 2 dogs while we're on vacation if we ever decided to get another one. Plus, I LIKE dogs, remember? :rotfl:

That is such pretty fabric! I love it!

I love it!!

For whoever asked to see the new Friends Around the World fabric from JoAnns... the baby was in a good mood yesterday so I was able to make a quick trip to pick some up...
100_1437.jpg

Both fabrics say "Friends all around the world hold hands and share their hearts."

And for comparison here is the fabric from Hancocks that I bought last year:
100_1439.jpg
Oh, i really like that fabric. To bad we leave in 6 days and I still have one other dress to finish. Plus, I was at Joann's yesterday and did not see this fabric (and I was looking).

How about, "I don't have money, but I still NEED fabric!"? I am so good, I went into Joanns yesterday and only bought what I really needed! (2 t-shirts)[/QUOTE]

WHAT? Are you feeling okay? I'm impressed! Of course, I also went to Joann's to buy t-shirts and came out with $100 less for my trip! BUT! Wait til you see what I made for Saylor! woo hoo! I also got some super cute fabric for spring...and ribbon...and buttons...yikes! I also got some sweatshirts (did you see them on clearance for $4?) for the kids Mickey iron ons....SO CUTE! I can't post any pics yet, but you just wait!!!!

3 More Days!!!
:yay: :yay: :yay:

I have a separate business making purses, bags, and small luggage. The messenger bag and cube are my design. All bags are made out of rescued estate fabric, close-out fabric, and recycled samples.

FABULOUS!!! I have been dying to make myself a bag. I made an Amy Butler Nappy Bag for a girlfriend but haven't had the time or money to make myself one. That or I'm just too damn lazy.

I haven't caught up on the posts since I last posted, but I will in a bit. I just HAD to tell you all that
I GOT A NEW SEWING MACHINE
My dear, wonderful, amazingly generous sister let me buy her brand spankin' new Brother CS-6000i for $50!!! Actually, she said I could have it for $30, but I gave her $50!

I LOVE IT!! It beeps!!!! It's SO much fun to sew on!!! How did I ever manage with that old machine? :rotfl: I can't wait to applique on it!!

In case you're wondering how she can sell it to me for $30, that's what she paid for it! She got the floor model at WalMart for $30 a while back. It didn't have a foot pedal or manual or anything with it. So, she called Brother and they sent her all of that stuff for free!

I was going to make a video showing you guys how I had fixed my old machine and you'd click on it and see that I just got a new machine. But, I was too excited to take the time to do that.

   This is how happy I am!!
HOORAY:banana:   !!! I will SO bananna with you for that! Can I be you guys sister too? Mine never gives me nothin' but attitude.

Just wanted to let everyone know that youcanmakethis.com has a new newsletter out and if you sign up for it you get 5 freebies. One of the freebies is a really cute purse that I am dying to make!
Good lookin' out. I can't wait to check it out.

This is probably old news, BUT! I was just on the Disney site checking ticket prices (for Disneyland) and from now thru April 24th, you can buy a 3, 4 or 5 day hopper pass and get 2 days FREE! AND, if you purchase online, tickets are around $30 less. You guys probably have all of your packages already taken care of....BUT! We hadn't bought ours yet (even though we're leaving in 3 days...yeesh!) and now I think we're going to stay 2 extra days....FOR FREE!!! Woo hoo! Just wanted to share....
