jham, I think you are correct about M&S being in Canada. I found out from a friend of my mom's as he and my husband were talking about underwear (of all things) and how my hubby refuses to wear anything other than a certain type of M&S underwear.

My MIL has been dubbed the Underpant Fairy and she sends my hubby some twice a year. He hates american underwear. (?! I didn't realize there was that big of a difference but hey, I'm a girl, what do I know?!)

I love going to M&S, I do my bra shopping over there, my husband cringes every time we go over. I've already started saving for our trip over this coming December. I have to go to specialty shops for bras but I can get what I need at M&S.

I suppose I should get back to working around the house. I was wiped out today, my DD kept me up most of last night, yet she was fresh as a daisy this morning and you could have mopped the floor with me.

I need to get to Joann's to see the new Disney princess fabrics.

Hi, Nana putting in her 2 cents worth..LOL When I got my first embroidery machine 5-6 years ago I found out that getting an excellent quality thread was extremely important. The cheaper the thread quality the more problems with your machine and the stitch-out of the design itself. I preferr Sulky brand embroidery thread. I personally preferr the sheen of rayon thread. When I first started I bought just enough basic colors to get me to the next Joann's sale of "50% off all thread". Then I started collecting other colors buying 10-20 spools of the 250yd spools, what ever my budget would allow. Then when I had all the colors I wanted from Joann's (they don't carry ALL that Sulky offers) I would purchase a few a month from www.uncommonthread.com. I don't use the pre-filled bobbins. I figure that since I am not in a home based embroidery business where the convenience might factor in I'll just wind my own bobbins with my favorite bobbin thread. Though I am contemplating getting what called the "Side Winder" which is a gadget that winds bobbins separate from your machines. I think Hancock sells them for under $20....It makes sense to me. Nana

Nana, I gree with you about the quality threads being important, but I have found that thread art's threads tend to be pretty high quality. They're only available on the internet which is what keep their price down. I found out the hard way about low-quality threads, and try to only use good ones.

And I DEFINITELY agree about the sales!! :thumbsup2 I always seemed to give the JoAnn cashiers the twitches when I walked up to the register with a hand basket full of nothing but bias packages and threads. :rolleyes1

I am behind on the this thread! I had a nice multi quote going last night, then lost it. So, I apologize, I am not ignoring anyone, I just need to get caught back up!

I have been working on Lydia's Giselle dress, and finished it enough to show pictures! I need a flower and a ribbon for the front yet.

As always, too many pictures......

When I showed Arminda and Lydia, they actually gasped! You gotta love that kind of reaction!!! And, even Corey said, "WOW!" and told Lydia she had to try it on so he could see it!

teresa - It's beautiful!!! Make me one!
Size 14.
Well, probably a 12 by the time you get it done.

Thank you, he is stinkin' cute, isn't he? I'm happy to help you out with spending all your money on disneyshopping. I just wanna drag everyone down with me!

Which pose is Megan's signature pose? I want to make sure we incorporate it into future photo shoots.

I like the jammies with the matching doll jammies. How cute is that!? Very cute, that's how cute! I cut Tessa's hair in honor of Megan. I liked Megan's hair so much that I took a couple of inches off of Tessa's. She doesn't look too different, it just looks a little neater.

He is so cute I just want to pinch his cheeks!

I did not order a tiara, but I did order a hoodie. With all the size troubles, I hope I got the right size. I also ordered a Jasmine costume for Megan. Some of hers are getting a little small. Should I save it for her birthday in May or give it to her when it comes in?

Megan's signature pose is sitting with her twirly skirt all around her. She came up with it all on her own.

I was just thinking that I should have left Megan's hair long after I saw Tessa's Christmas pictures with the side part and the low ponytail. I thought she looked so beautiful and was a little sad that I couldn't do that to Megan's hair. We decided to grow it out to donate so I should be able to do that someday!

It was mostly pretty easy. The instructions were kind of vague in a couple of spots, but the whole tracing paper/add your own seam allowance thing wasn't too complicated. It's the waistband that was a little tricky because there are no side seams and you have to add it at the end and it was hard getting the width to match up. :confused3 But since there is elastic, it is hard to see my imperfections.

It sounds so confusing! I wonder why they don't have the seam allowance. I think I will stick to American patterns (preferably ones that say "easy").

Steph, could you "whip up" some of those doll nightgowns for me? :rotfl: I'll be lucky if I get the kids stuff done for the trip, I think the dolls will be sadly underdressed at Disneyworld!

Okay, so I have been working on some stuff for my boys. I still need to make the red shirt for Seth. I forgot how much I hate collars! And what is with these 5 year olds and their poses? Luke kept doing this cross-legged pose in most of the pictures I took. It looks like he is leaning against the wall but he is not :rotfl: I now think of this as Luke's "signature pose" Although he is widely known in 5 years of photos to tilt is head to the side a LOT.

DH wants me to make this shirt for him too :rotfl2: too bad I'm out of this fabric and so is my Joann's! He really is a big kid.

th_IMG_0146_edited-1.jpg

Sadly, doll clothes are the only thing I can whip up. I think I enjoy them because they don't take much time and I can do them with scraps. I love Luke's signature pose! I will have to show Megan in the morning. Do you want me to check JoAnn's for more fabric? I would be thrilled if my husband wanted me to make something for him. Although I don't like collars either, lol.

:lovestruc Love this! I might have to direct my mom to this thread to strongly hint to her how much I love this. I am sure your friend will love it too!

I gasped too! I love it! And Lydia is so sweet in all the poses. Did you start from a pattern? I have a pattern that I was going to start from, but yours looks so much more like the real thing. That is just awesome!

Megan said this afternoon (as she was posing), wouldn't it be funny if JoJo was doing my signature pose? Then she laughed herself silly.

Everything is looking great girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teresa, that Giselle dress is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got a big 'ol box from disneyshopping.com yesterday. So, we modeled some of the stuff for you:

Here's Sawyer in his Peter Pan costume:
th_1-8-08PeterPan.jpg

Me wearing my Cinderella sweatshirt and my Cinderella crown with my Cinderella wand. I really wanted to wear the crown to the mall, but I restrained myself:
th_1-9-08Mewearingcrown2.jpg

I also got my pink Tinkerbell shirt that I asked about a few days ago. It was definitely women's sizing, so it fit. But, it's that really thin, cling to every roll fabric, so I'm not sure I'm going to wear it. I also double-checked disneyshopping.com and they still don't distinguish between Juniors and Women's sizing, even though the clothes are marked that way when you get them!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Sawyer in his Peter Pan outfit!!!! He is so adorable!!! :lovestruc He was so cute the other day, Arminda was sitting on the floor, and Sawyer walked over and gave her a hug and kiss. :lovestruc

Heather, you are STUNNING!!! And, man, you are really starting to look like your older sister!!! :rotfl:
While I was sewing the Giselle dress, I wore the crown too!

One more thing! I went to Target today to try out the Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand stroller and it was on CLEARANCE!!! It's $119 on target.com, but it was on clearance for $83!!! So, of course I bought one! I wanted to get something for the kids at Disney and this is cheaper than renting one while we're there! Here's a link to it on target.com:
http://www.target.com/Baby-Trend-Si...index=target&rh=k:baby trend sit stand&page=1

th_sitnstandstroller.jpg

It seems really easy to push, even with both kids in it. It was also easy to fold up. The front seat doesn't recline very much, but I think it'll be okay.

Now, to keep this on topic, I need to figure out how to Disney-fy it!!
YEAH!!! FANTASTIC deal Heather!!!!

There had been a discussion about Giselle dresses. DD got one from DH's Aunt and Uncle, they got it at Marks & Spencer (for those from the UK) I love the dress, the one they got is a little big so MIL got her another one in the next smaller size, it should be here in a couple of days. I like it because it's reversible and it's short sleeved, it'll be perfect for her BBB appointment and her birthday dinner in June.

I'll try posting pictures, I have the hardest time doing it from a mac, but I'll try. If they don't work I'll also post a link to M&S so you can get a look at it.

Here's the link...

Sorry that the pink side is so small, I couldn't nick the image from the site in the bigger size...

Thinking about BBB, has anyone been to the one in the castle? Is there a place for DD to have her pictures taken afterward right there like there is at DTD?

Thanks!

That is gorgeous!!!

Ok like I promised Heather And Teresa our Christmas day trip to Disneyland. Where my girls were wearing the cuties outfits I have ever made them and our camera died after three pics. :headache: but three is better than none. It was very windy and very cold so thats why they have sweaters on.

IMG_0003-2.jpg
Your girls are so cute!!!! I love the pictures! Thank you!!!!

I haven't been around in a while but guess what? Guess who is going to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party???? Yes, Gracie and I are going in March. I'm having an Aurora custom made right now. Also, we're meeting up with a friend to attend and we will be going to 1900 Park Fare. We're having "stepsister" customs made for our girls to wear. Gracie is getting an Anastasia outfit and Lilli will have a Drizella outfit. I've had a sneak peak and they are going to be great!!!!!

You all have been very busy creating here. I've just been busy buying things. I'm so excited about going back for Gracie's 2nd trip. The trip in September was amazing.

When we go to Disney in may, Tessa will have Cinderella's pink dress, Arminda wants her silver/blue dress, and Sawyer is going to be Prince Charming. So, Deann (tnmom25) suggested that I have some of the other girls go as Anastasia and Drizella. You should have seen the looks on Lydia's and my neices faces when I suggested they go dressed as the ugly stepsisters!!!! :rotfl: I saw the pictures of the one AimeeG made, and it was really cute though!

I hope you come back and share some pictures of your trip with us!! I bet Gracie will be adorable! !

Hi All... A few quick pics before I head off to bed.
This is the girls with their friends at AK

The girls at their private meet and greet with Aurora

And I think this is my favorite picture of my Cinderella...
297624387.jpg

I love the outfits and pictures!!! Your Cinderella is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I love that picture! And, a private meeting with Aurora???? WOW!!!! Your girls look so gorgeous!!

The strange thing is I value positive comments on my work more here than in real life. DH says he is impressed with my sewing but it somehow means more coming for internet strangers. Not sure why that is.
I know what you mean! I feel exactly the same way!

I also really value everyone's opinion on here. If I post something and it doesn't get many comments, my feelings are actually hurt. How silly is that?
I know, me too!
I bought some red velvet fabric and some heavy white cotton to make Sawyer a Prince Charming outfit!! I also bought the fabric for Tessa's newest Cinderella dress. So, I should be sewing right now instead of typing!

I can't wait so see Sawyer dressed as Prince Charming!! And, Tessa's Cinderella!
I was thinking on this & praying. Was there a final word as to how everyone is & what on earth would cause such a horrific chain of events?
I heard this morning they thought it was from a controlled burn that got out of control. From what I could see on TV, you couldn't see much because of the smoke. What a horrible tragedy.
Wendy, I knew there was a reason I liked you! I wish I'd had my haired pixied at DL. I don't think they offer it there (not that we searched out anyway). So, I dusted myself with gold glitter body spray! One of the CM's noticed it & said "you have pixie dust on...why aren't you flying? Not enough happy thoughts today?" I felt sad about that because I had been sick all day, but just smiled though!
I would love to do this at Disney with Heather! Maybe we could talk my mom and our sister in law into doing it too!!!

Why is your Dh not out there ice fishing those dudes? ;)

Oh no, we can't get Brian started on ice fishing right now! He is SOOOOO very upset that all the ice melted the other day!! He keeps sayin,"I just KNOW that we aren't going to get enough ice again to go fishing." like THAT is just the saddest thing in the world!

1) Please do.When I explained what a "signature pose" was, she was very excited!
2) :snooty:
I finished the doll nightgowns today. Megan was very disappointed that I didn't use the Hannah Montana fabric for the doll nightgown but I didn't have any leftover and had a bunch of pink so that's what I used. She wanted to pose in her friend's nightgown with her doll:

th_100_2175.jpg

th_100_2172.jpg

Wow, these aren't good pictures of the nightgown, are they? Well, you get the idea. The others came out blurry for some reason.

The nightgowns and Megan look so cute! Of course, Lydia thinks she is wearing that nightgown for her! (you know, because there is an L on it!)

Why thank you! Now Teresa wants the Aurora crown, so hopefully she gets it!

I sure wish I could get a picture preview before tomorrow. :rolleyes1 Mom has been worried about you today because she can't call you on the phone. I told her you hadn't e-mailed me either. But, then I checked the board and let her know you posted, so you must be fine!

Is that any way to treat your $50 serger?! I think not!

I am torn between the Belle and the Aurora. Are you ordering anything else soon? I hate to pay shipping!

I sent you pictures before I posted. Just cause I like you best! ;)

My phone isn't working today, and the internet was acting goofy last night! The phone still doesnt' work, but the DSL does, very odd.

This is an iron on from Amy M_I_C_K_E_Y :lovestruc This is turning out to be a quick and easy solution for the boys, and they LOVE them! (and yes, I really need to get Luke's hair trimmed out of his eyes before we go!)

th_IMG_0142_edited-1.jpg

WOW, he has good balance!!! I love it! The shirt is so cute, it's nice to see boys outfits! Your son is so adorable!
Oh, here's a little pic of a skirt I made a friend of mine:

th_DSCN0715.jpg

She's tiny. I hope it fits! It's a wrap skirt, so pretty adjustable.
I love that skirt!! Nice job!

Aw man, I thought you wrote ANOTHER update. But, I've already read it! Anyone who hasn't checked out disneymommieof2's TR, take a look. She's got some great pictures on there and it's an entertaining read!

I second that! It's great!

teresa - It's beautiful!!! Make me one!

You just keep on shrinking don't you!

Megan said this afternoon (as she was posing), wouldn't it be funny if JoJo was doing my signature pose? Then she laughed herself silly.

Thanks Steph! I looked at all the pictures I could find of the dress, and then I made a bunch of different sketches, then took Lydia's meaurments and made my own pattern. I NEVER thought I would be able to do something like that before I found this thread!

Megan is so funny!!! I love it!

I haven't actually seen the movie yet, but then I haven't seen a movie in the theater since Dec 31, 2006. Sad, I know.

One of the people who passed away has been identified as a WDW worker. He was on his way to work at AK for his 6 am shift. He was recently married. The other 3 have not been identified. I-4 still has not fully reopened. They had to repave as the fire burned the actual road.

I bought some fabric at Hancock's on Tuesday and I washed & dried it yesterday. I went to iron it today so that I could start sewing an outfit and I noticed that apparently the black from the dogs/dots bled. It put black spots all over the fabric.

The color on this pic is bad but it was the only way that I could get the black spots to show up. The fabric is super white with the black scottie dog & black polka dots.
scottydog1.jpg

Has anyone ever had this happen? I washed it exactly how it said to and this happened. Will Hancock refund my money? The material wasn't on sale, there were no coupons and it was $6.99 a yard -- I bought 2 yards. I never buy fabric without a sale or coupon.

I am soooooo upset about this b/c I saw the fabric on Sunday (it was brand new) and didn't buy it b/c I wanted to wait for a coupon. I couldn't get the material out of my head (even dreaming about it) and I had my outfit all thought out. My dreams are crushed!

Will Hancock's refund my money?

They should refund your money. But what about using that run remover stuff? I think it is made by RIT?

That is so weird that you just posted that! My red Mickey fabric I just made this shirt from:

IMG_0146_edited-1.jpg

did the exact same thing! I was wondering if it showed up in the photo I posted! Up close it looks sorta bad, but I got it on :wizard: and no time to do anything about it. My boys are 5 and 8 so they'll just like like their shirts are a little dirtier than usual. :rotfl:

The last time I was at Hancocks they were explaining to a lady that they no longer carried the fabric she wanted because it bled so much, so I think they should take it back.

I've never seen him before. He's great. I hope to meet him next month! Any tips on where he hangs out?

He's usually at Camp Minnie Mickey...near the characters in Animal Kingdom, he said he sometimes goes near the petting zoo too.
