Wow! I've spent the better part of two days reading this thread. I got to page 200 and had to stop! I haven't visited the board much since our last trip but since dh agreed to go for our anniversary and possibly even this christmas (if I go back to work, but that's for another thread ) I had to dive in and start reading again. :D I love to sew. Our last trip I made my girls matching Mickey head applique shirts to wear to the parks. I'll have to see if I can find some pics. This time when we go I'll have 3 little girls to dress up. :) I can't wait to get started!!!

Wow! I'm kind of new to this board and I've just found this thread. I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone in my obsession to dress my DD for each day that we are in Disney. We are going the first week in February and I can't wait. I've become an online stalker - watching auctions to see the clothes, but I can't spend $300+ on one outfit...let alone seven! Luckily, when I was a little girl, my mom taught me how to sew! So, since I teach, have 2 children, and attend grad school, that only leaves me time in the middle of the night for my hobby. My husband thinks I'm crazy because I stay up until the wee hours to work on outfits. Every chance I get, I'm on the computer trying to find new patterns or ideas. I know it is a problem and I've checked into a 12 step program, but they tell me there isn't one! I'm secretly happy about that!

Anyway, I've noticed that there are some very talented people on this board and there are also some well dressed children that belong to them! Thank you all for the inspiration to keep me going well into the night for the next few weeks! I can't wait until I'm done - and have enough posts - so I can show you some pictures of my creations. I'm only making clothes for my DD. She is 2 and loves to wear the clothes I make her. For some reason my DS (7) doesn't want me to make him anything. I guess he's just not that into ruffles! :)

Ok, I found some photos. :)

Mickey head applique. For some reason this is the only pic I can find right now. But I made them in animal print, denim, polka dot, and pink/green.

Matching Minnie shortalls for Chef Mickeys

Matching Aline dresses made out of....a curtain!!! (That I got at a garage sale! :D )

Not Disney but still cute. :D

Tx Pillowcase top and shorts for 4th of July

Tx Pillowcase dress (dress and top were both the same size!)

Redondo skirt and top.

Welcome k s m and phins jazy!! :welcome: k s m...we want to see pictures of everything (well, maybe not everything) you've made!! phins jazy I love your park pictures! And, your girls look great!

I was watching Good Morning America this morning. Sam Champion was talking to a woman in the audience. He was commenting on her toddlers fur cuffs! This little girl looked adorable!! Her mom was holding her so I couldn't see the whole outfit but she was wearing a red petti and at first I thought, cute, but then I noticed the bodice of her top and the fabric peeking over the petti!! It was a Small World outfit (with the Henry Alexander Smiles around the world fabric!) that Tink561 has. (It wasn't her though!) DH thought I was nuts when I started yelling "I know that outfit!!" I can only imagine what I'll do if I spot a custom that I recoginize at WDW come February!!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much to those who were praying for my BIL and his wife. They were able to pick up the baby yesterday. They found out that he was a preemie, and he only weighs about 4lbs. They have to stay in the Philly area for 10 more days before they can take him home. Do you all think they should get him checked out right away? He does have a history of drug exposure - and they have no idea if a preemie takes any special care - this is ringing bells with me that he should at the least be seen by a pediatrician, but do you think I should ask one of the developmental pediatricians I know at the hospital to take a peek at him? or is this too much????? advice would be GREAT!!!

Thanks, Wendy

Hi Wendy!
I was on vacation - not WDW ;) - so I missed the first part of this. He was probably checked pretty good at the hospital but I would keep up with the pediatrician until he gains some weight. You could always offer that to your BIL - doesn't hurt. My twins were 4#14oz and 4#8oz - and they did great - I'm sure this little guy will as well!

Welcome! One more post and you can post photos! We can't wait to see! I make tons of stuff for DD2, a little for DD10, and hardly anything (except pjs) for DS5 and DS8. Today I'm going to attempt camp shirts for the boys, but I've also decided on getting some iron-on designs from the creative DISigns board for some t-shirts for the boys so they don't feel too left out. I'll post photos when I get them done.

That's too funny! When we were at Disneyland last October I think I saw 2 sets of girls in customs (none from our boards though) it was funny how I could spot them a mile away. I must say I never paid attention before. Too bad I missed it. I sometimes have GMA on in the morning while I'm getting the kids ready for school but today DH made me change it to the Today show because Al Roker has been at the CES show in Las Vegas and DH's company set up these media ports for NBC and Al mentioned them yesterday. :)

Does anyone know the Pattern number for this shirt?
Wshirt1.jpg

I think it is a pattern with sizes for Dad and boys. Here is a photo of a little guy wearing the shirt.

I searched the pattern books at JoAnn's today, but I couldn't find it. THey had Early Spring books out.

I am hoping the pattern isn't discontinued. My little boy is too old for Jon Jon's and I want to make him a few shirts like this. Thank you for your help!

All my kids within a week of being born were required to be checked out by a pediatrician. Wait, was he checked out before they were given the baby?

There was a 50 car pileup this morning 10 miles south of Disney. (Polk county-many Disney Cast members live in this area) They have confirmed 3 deaths. 20 semi's were involved. Right now they have atleast 4 people trapped in cars. Please pray for those trapped and the crews just getting to these people. They have gotten 9 people to the hospital 7 are serious. They are showing live shots of the scene and I can't even discribe it.

Oh goodness! Is there an update? This is TRAGIC.

Oh goodness! Is there an update? This is TRAGIC.

I had to stop watching TV, it was just upseting. There was a man stuck in a truck that they did not think they would be able to get out, so they gave him a cell phone and told him to call his wife..... they were able to get him out and last I heard they were amazed at how well he was doing:)

They now have 13 people in the hospital, but thankfully no more deaths. I-4 is still closed. They have just begun to remove cars from the scene.
ETA: 82 people hurt

Prayers to all those involved.

I don't know. I believe those are glorib's kids. She has made that shirt in a ton of cute fabrics! I have been searching for that pattern to make shirts for my boys but no luck  I had to cave in and get a pattern for a plain old regular style camp shirt but I love the idea of being able to use 2 fabrics, just not smart enough to pull it off without a pattern! :rotfl:

A lot depends on which hospital this child was born in. A pediatrician is not a pediatrician is not a pediatrician. He should have been examined by a neonatologist at his weight and with his high risk birth. Do they know at what time in the pregnancy the child was exposed to drugs and which drugs? Adoption is always a leap of faith...below is our Nicholas who was adopted from a Russian orphanage as an infant and very developmentally delayed. Now look at him! They should really seek assistance from the hospital for help in knowing what to expect, how to feed him, etc. They should get a thorough report from the pediatrician there, and take the child immediately to their pediatrician for exams, referrals, etc. God bless them and that dear little child. Mom probably was a smoker if she was a drug addict. This would account for low birth weight. Is the baby sucking well on a bottle? This is crucial.

Since Minnie's house is scheduled to be closed while we are there :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I made my sister take a picture of my Dniece (and Dnephew) at Minnie's sewing machine. Dneice is wearing an outfit I made her so it sort of counts. And hey, 13 months old and the girl is trying to sew! :lovestruc

I too am bummed that Minnie's house is having some renovations done while we are there and we won't be able to get the sewing machine pic. However, I see this as a reason to return.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have been spending alot of time with the girls the last two weeks. I only have a few pic of the girls in their overalls at dland on xmas day. Our camera wasn't working right. I am goint to take them again for our final vacation trip at the end of the month our passes expire on the 28. And i refuse to buy passes again until the twins are old enough to go on all the rides. so it will be awhile. Thanks for missing me. How have you been?
I've been good! I'm glad you've been able to spend time with the girls! That time is so precious.

I heard about this on our local radio station today. How horrible!

:welcome: I like you already!!! You sound like you've found just the right place. Call it an anti- 12 step program for fanatical sewers/fabric buyers.

What a bunch of great outfits!!! It looks like you were doing great before you found us. We can't wait to see what else you come up with!

I would be really excited, too! Was it anyone else from the boards? If so, speak up!!!

It's discontinued, but I saw it on simplicity.com. Let me see if I can find the link: http://simplicity.com/index.cfm?page=athumbnail_OOP.cfm&StartRow=73&category=1 I know someone already said this, but it's number 4287.
